  • ubuntu is my bestest oprating system

    thank you ubuntu dev

  • Canonical has great motives when it comes to the future of computing, but this will be a flop if they go off their current code base. Right motives, wrong development.

  • Melhorando a cada dia...

  • i love Linux but Ubuntu's move to Unity bothered me at first but after playing with Unity, it has grown on me. and now with uTouch, modding my netbook into a tablet will be so much more rewarding!

  • Does 'globalmenu' work well with the touchscreen, e.g. optimized to respond to downward swipe from screen top

  • and now a working (and reasonably looking) on screen keyboard, to make my dell duo a usable tablet...

  • What the name of this music??? D:

  • Best OS... *.*

  • wow nice....I would actually love to see tablets running Unity. It would be great.

  • Okay one point. If Ubuntu is doing all this work on touch, why do we STILL have to set up screen rotation ourselves?

  • haa making money off open source?

    we do not aprove

  • @frvfilms

No, it's way to gain popularity OpenSource

Me from the very beginning it seemed that the Ubuntu Unity is well suited for tablet PCs

  • I found the german domain of it but no further info but that it is for sale ????

  • It's all point-and-click stuff now. Notice there was no touch scrolling on that webpage, just a lot of push-button and drag. Only two interactions used multi-touch.

  • woo, now I want a Touch netbook

  • Will the uTouch Unity replace Gnome in desktop version?

  • Io lo adoro Linux!!!

  • uh, no, there's no need to use the CLI to install Flash (not that it's shuch a horrible thing to use a CLI anyway), it's in the Ubuntu Software Center, and has been for a long time. Or install chrome and it's included

  • @MrBeloved88 sudo apt-get install restricted-ubuntu-extras solves all our problems.

  • @iFargle one can now choose to download the restricted extras at installation. It's swell.

  • though if it's like Ubuntu, then you'll still need a keyboard to get flash in order to play videos. though Super OS has it already installed as does Linux Mint. I've also seen a guy buy a touchscreen and use compiz and had it work great

  • win but whats the song ? :D

  • Ah, now it makes sense. Just read an article about this being the default in the next release and just did not get why. Looks great for touch.

  • Is it an ipad? I don't care...

  • azz, 1 dollaro e 29 ???

  • Ya'll can always go to our official site for more songs... julandrew-dot-com Thanks you guys for using the song. Thanks everybody else for asking about it. Cheers! -Andrew

  • Hope to see some tablets or handheld multitouch ubuntu computers in 2011! a cheaper alternative. but yea it has to come with a separate Software center with apps that support multitouch to sell!

  • good going ubuntu! but still a lot more touch improvement needed! maybe by 12.04 we will have a completely multitouch aware and fully scalable ubuntu OS? i like the idea of taking the same ubuntu OS and adding a different multitouch friendly skin to it! not like what M$ is doing (actually they are doing nothing!)

  • would buy

  • wath the song?

  • @matrezz "Crazy As" by Julandrew

  • pity can't post the link to jamendo.com, and shame the author did not credit her properly in the description! :(

  • @ilPeach It's possible Canonical bought a commercial license to use the song, in which case they did not have to give credit.

  • nice toy.. audio quality is shit though.. heh.

  • Song - Julandrew - Crazy As =)

  • Wait a minute! Did he just interact with a flash application using his fingers? Impossible! This is fake!

  • @ttk1opc just download Ubuntu (its free) and try it for your self. This is not fake. Why you think its impossible to to interact flash with your fingers?

  • @kapcom01 lol, I know I use ubuntu, I was making fun of the iPad and Steve Jobs.

  • damn it the ipad can go fuck itself this is so much cooler!

for one thing its not based on a mobile phone os which never works very wel when we scale it up to a desktop kind of resolution.

    this is just sweet!

  • does it really does a multi-touch support? or its something like every body posting around that needs a bit more polishing? btw congrats with the meerkat...around here Im booting in around 10 secs...REALLY GREAT WORK AROUND THIS ISSUE that has been said that will work around it. I can only imagine how it should be in one netbook without many services on startup ;)

  • cool... i mean, it doesn't look perfect, but it's a good start.

and i'm kinda interested in seeing how they use gnome 3 in a tablet...

  • ubuntus game line up is awful

  • @jordler Other tablets, on the other hand, play Crysis pretty damn well.

  • I would rather get this (concerning the os) than an ipad os, I'm guessing the device can't handle it as well though (slow)

  • @Fennecfox10 its slow now, but its waaay faster that it was (it took liek 5 min for one gesture in first public build)

  • The entire window idea doesn't work with a touch screen in my opinion, also the evice looks exceptionally nerdy. Don't get me wrong I am nerd but what advantage does this offer over a laptop?

  • OMG, It's a Mac Ad!

  • So firefox 4 has multi-touch support, will this work with that?

  • What is song? Nice video!

  • oh so it's like the ipad

  • @aarondkeogh ...except better

  • It's the first time I seen this shit.. motherfucker.. this is so bad

  • How do you type?

  • Song?

  • @Exdozolie Crazy by Julie Andrews

  • finger fail ?! 0:29

  • @aetRene where? :S

  • it's a pity that Unity is a half finished, buggy piece of dog pile

  • Very very cool. I wish i had touch screen :(

  • nice video.... looks great
