  • This thing is nothing more than APC, where is IFV, stupid Discovery nowadays?

  • They were even given howitzers. 251 = Successful, monster! Fast, can keep up with the Blitzkrieg campaign, etc.

  • Russia built some of the worst early tanks. Even their later designs... America's Sherman deserves way more respect. Sorry, but... My god. If you learned the Sherman's true history, you'd be shocked at how stupid even Americans are. Their tanks were supreme. As for the 251, beautiful. Slopped armored carriers with outstanding track-system.

  • @Tyco200 hey, its you, the guy who thinks a sherman can face off against a t34.

the sherman was not a good tank, it was a many used one, and i was very addaptible, but not good.

why? bad gun, bad armor, petrol engine etc.

  • @halorecon95

Shermans fared well against T-34's in Korea.

The T-34 is massively overrated by discovery channel and the likes

  • @scassidy0526 totally agree with you

  • 1:49 , why is there a creepy doll on the side?

  • @alexmoskov Maybe it's a lucky mascot? Which is probably a good idea in a war.

By the way, it looked like your comment wasn't going to get aswered for a moment there, as the page is so full of patriotic retards bickering about whose country is best. I wish they would just comment on the video, and stage their debates/arguments on a forum somewhere else.

  • @matt6517 Oh lmao! yeh that comment was old. And yeh you're right; alot of pointless arguments here.

  • @matt6517 Thanks for the response btw.

  • americans and russians copied everything from the germanz and failed ....

  • @91SPB Sherman with a 76 VS Panther. 1,600 meters = Panther dead. (and that was standard range.) T-34 = copy off of the Sherman. Complete, absolute failure. 85mm gun not even up to the 76 of 1942... ;) Russia = biggest retards. Even today...

  • @Tyco200 u americans are ungrateful retards...FIRST the sherman is a copy of one of the french tanks.SECOND american army used artillery on the german tanks cuz they were 100 times stronger and feared THIRD T-34 have nothing in common with your thin can sherman-100 times stonger armor,76 mm gun from the beginning, and most important >committed crews, fighting to death. AMERICANS...LEARN YOUR FCKN LESSON ... in WW2 u just bombed civilians ...in the same time russians fought the german warriors

  • @91SPB Ahahahaha! Russia failed to fight Germany, you fucking idiot! And that's a fact, dumbass! The T-34 was built off of Western designs, and they still could not get a 37mm gun. Also, the 76 couldn't take out anything beyond 500 meters. American 76mm guns took out even the Panther at 1,200 meters FRONTAL ARMOR, you fucking moron.

  • @91SPB Also note the fact that the T-34 NEVER HAD PROPER AMMO STORAGE. They blew up even with the 85mm gun modification! Our Sherman E8s took hits, and SURVIVED unlike the shit-tank, pig sty known as "T-34."

  • @91SPB Don't know history? Go die. Also, Germany always used artillery to fight wars, except in Barbarossa (you sucked so bad, they didn't need it.) At Casserine pass, they wiped us out with artillery!

  • the sdfkz looks so cool i wonder why we dont use half tracks any more?

  • The Blitzkrieg wasn't a tactic is was an operational doctrine. These shows can never get the details right. =P

  • @atomikus37

It's never called Sonderkraftfahrzeug. The German army always used the Sd.Kfz abbreviation. So this vehicle's name was Sd.Kfz 251

    Sd.Kfz means special purpose vehicle

  • It sound so funny when they say German names in those ducomentations xD Sondrecraftvarzeug xDD

  • howling cow hehe

  • wow. the narators german sucks

  • @MatoVuc pravo moi drug

  • @scratchpost Overengineered refers to adding expensive excess capability that is not used. For this, the track was too large (3/4 track) too complex, too hard to maintain, but didnt have front wheel drive. All half tracks descend from a French design

  • Man u got to give it to the Nazi back in the War they have good technology, but they chose "Quality Over Quantity" which is 1 of the reason why they lose the WAR... but is good that ally Study their technology so that we can use em....

  • lol many pictures seen in this film are sd.kfz 250´s not 251´s: bad research

  • Like everything else the Germans made its overdesigned and over engineered.

  • 1:09 See! Germans did have nukes in ww2!

  • WHY ARE ALL OF THESE APCS AND NOT IFVS!

  • german Quality

  • a jack of all trades it could do annything this should be atleast 3rd place or better!

  • LOL good carrying capacity for having 10 men on board... and the M 3 got less and carries 11. But the Skdfz 251 is a nice vehicle, and still my favorite APC.

  • I like it, when he say "Zonderkwaftfahrseug" :-)

  • My favorite APC : )

  • maybe the only IFV placed correctly in this top...

  • I hate how american and russian soldiers say that they killed a bajillion german soldiers and SS guys before their ammo ran out. The truth was that they saw their commarades die, ripped apart by the MG 42 on this APC. And they make you believe via the TV that they killed a bajillion SS guys.

Oh and BTW if a Stryker and Sd.Kfz.251 go head to head race the Sd.Kfz.251 is going to win.(grammar nazis will understand that)

  • @PvtToast Two hundred thousands died for Americans in Europe and North Africa killed or capture by German and Italians. Three hundred thousands or more German and tens of thousands of Italians killed or capture by American in North Africa and Europe. The US ratio was very good considering it only have around one hundred thousand trained troops for WW2. Also, Germany built up its military and technology in the 1930s. While, US started in 1942 and surpassed any other nations by themselves.

  • @916ppl yor numbers are total bullshit pal

  • @PvtToast MG-42 on Sonderkraftfahrzeung or M2 on M3? I prefer the M3 armed with the M2. It did not only stop enemy infantry but efficiently scare off lightly armor German vehicles and low flying planes. The MG-42 only stop enemy infantry. Also, notice that German military officers confirm MG-42 can pin down one or two Allies squads. While, the M2 can pinned down a entire German platoon. The M3 is slower but can carry more than the German 251.

  • @916ppl American M60 MG copied the German MG42 instead of the M2. I'd personally take the MG42. The M3 is much faster and has a more powerful engine than the 251. I'd take the M3 over the 251

  • for me this was THE apc of WW2

  • love the voice of this guy

  • nmnmnmnmnmnmn

  • 2:23 it looks like Storm troopers from star wars :p

  • Infantry stuka, XD

  • @DonZN4 actually this was a mistranslation the label given to the Wurfrahmen 40 was "Stuka zu Fuß" which means "Stuka by foot" or "Stuka on foot"

  • most seams to forget that its eksperts that have helped creating this list so even if u not like its likely more true than ur own teories

  • This is possibly the most poorly researched thing I've ever seen.

The M113? They're going by how many were built and how popular they are, and not how good they actually are. Most of the vehicles on this thing are horrible. The Bradley and Warrior as #2 and #3? A German Half Track? These are, to those that know them, notoriously bad designs lacking in many different areas.

They need to fire the d-bag that researched this.

  • Group of military historians vs oxtwin586 on youtube. Yeah...

  • LOL.

    1.) I *AM* a military historian.

2.) The M113's performance speaks for itself. It doesn't even belong up there from the beginning because it's an APC and not an IFV. There's a difference. Same for a German half track. The IFV was is a completely seperate class of vehicle that began with the introduction of the Soviet BMP.

But, go figure that one of the douchebags from A&M would open their mouth. You're probably in the Corps too.

  • I'm SURE you are. A&M denied you right? Shame

  • I should also add that in addition to being a historian, I'm a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • No, I'd debated A&M but decided not to due to the overly conservative campus.

  • The CV90 beat the Bradley in most performance tests and they didn't include the Patria AMV, which has a flawless service record in Afghanistan, so much so that the Taliban actively avoids ambushing patrols with the Patria because they've found it to be virtually unkillable.

There are dozens vehicles better than everything they posted. Just because it's on TV doesn't make it well researched or well informed, it just makes it well funded.

  • Additionally, the Patria is considered superior to the Marine Corps LAV and Army Stryker. The Marines are going to replace the LAV with it.

  • @oxtwin586 are you an assburgers military historian? kuz i'm looking at a Big Mac o' shit

  • You think of that all by yourself?

I don't care if you believe me or not, but search around a little and check for yourself. That is the worst list of infantry fighting vehicles ever compiled.

  • The rocket variant was called "Stuka zu fuss"

  • very cool machine...

  • Vendetta, your arguementation is stupid. This is a HISTORICAL, OVERALL top ten, and the performance of the APC in its own age is taken into consideration. If i folloy u, today' apc-s can still easily be destroyed by the kingtigers KWK 43

    88 mm gun.

    This leads to nowhere

  • They said IFVs, there is a difference betwee an IFV and an APC. A very big difference.

  • No MICVor APC is designed to be proof against anti-tank weapons. That would make them too expensive to deploy in the numbers needed. The point of these vehicles is to give the infantry the speed and cross-country mobility to keep up with tanks and not be destroyed by simple small arms.

As for ranking this WW2 machine, it is the inspiration for the MICV. It was a fighting vehicle, not just a taxi. It would work as well today as it did in 1945. Just fit a TOW instead of a AT Gun and there ya go

  • Not really. It doesn't have the speed of modern AFVs, nor the armor.

It would get eaten alive today.

  • "Swept across Europe and Russia"... yeah... till russian winter came!

  • Hört sich das geil an, wenn der Typ deutsche Namenbezeichnungen ausspricht...

The speaker should take some german lessons...

  • and russian too, because he killed pronunciation of BMP.

  • How can you put a 1940s IFV in the 5th place, when it's operational range sucks and you can blow the shit out of it with a grenade?

  • Comment removed

  • nope!! Youre crazy how could you knock it out with a granade!!

  • guess nobody told you nobody was knocking around with RPG-7s in ww2

and its not modern so it woddnt HAVE to face "modern anti-tank shells" or bombs....

  • Because it was far ahead of it's time and not every f'kin soldier had an RPG...

  • Seriously... Now a days everyone soldier has a disposable rocket or an rpg.

  • Because you are stupid enough too actuall not listen to what they are saying.

  • It wasn't even a great vehicle during World War 2, nor was it particularly ahead of it's time. Again, it was just produced in large quantities. They're clearly not going by vehicle quality, only in numbers. They look like good vehicles because there were SO MANY OF THEM, but individually, most of the vehicles in that video are average at best and some blatantly substandard.

  • it's the ones that have had most impact in real wars or breakthroughs in technology etc. not the best IFV on paper.

  • What kind of impact? The German's lost World War 2 and we lost Vietnam. So the M113 and Half Track had ZERO impact lol.

  • That's fallacious, and frankly quite stupid logic you presented there.

So Tiger had no impact because Germany lost the war too?

Why don't you just look at the vehicle, what it did, and not what country they're made in or whether the war was finally won or not.

  • @OlderG0ds

The vehicle had no impact on the outcome of the war. That's a fact.

Not to mention the fact that there were plenty of other vehicles very similar to for other countries, that performed as good or better than it. It's NOTHING special. Certainly not "one of the best infantry fighting vehicles ever".

  • Additionally you're bringing up the Tiger?

It had no impact either. It's lack of speed, operational range, and spare parts made sure it made no impact, and it's reputation made the vehicle out to be far more of a threat than history showed it to be.

  • But yes, it is another vehicle that people with limited knowledge of military vehicles will flaunt and say was an incredible design... when quite frankly, it wasn't.

  • You're failing the grasp my point.

Forget Tiger, what you're implying is anything on the losing side of a war is insignificant.

  • @OlderG0ds

You've ignored what I said, I said that in addition to having no impact on the war as you claimed, it was not significantly superior to any other similar vehicles of the time, and completely unworthy of any acclaim as some sort of incredible fighting machine.

  • I don't discount it simply because the German's lost the war, there are plenty of German and Japanese weapons that were superior and made an impact. This was not one of them.

  • Your logic would justify the M60 as a superior machine gun, which it is not, simply because there are a lot of them.

  • Quantity does not equal quality.

  • Spot on.

  • @OlderG0ds Yes both this and the tiger had impact because since WWII was lost, it barely saw service anywhere else

  • BMP-1.....

"wow! is that some kind of super thick armor meant to protect the guys inside?"

Russian: NOOO... it's a fuel tank.... And if a BMP takes a round at the back side, particularly if it takes an incendiary round at the back side..... EVERYBODY INSIDE IS SHOWERED WITH BURNING FUEL and everybody inside dies.....XD hell yeah XD

  • lol like he pronounces it

    "sondacraftfasäug"

  • that's what made the panzer grenadiers, the most terrored vehicles of allied troops.

  • Panzer grenadiers is the nazi word for the infantry that was attached to teh panzer armies

  • Erm what?

  • Great machine. I love Sdkfz 251.

  • usuelly this kind of tv programs are amerikan probacanda shit, like top ten tanks.

  • learn to spell retard

  • JOB TVOLE MADJ, idiot

  • "Soundcraftfaßeug"^^

  • HANOMAG HENSCHEL i hawe drived an F66.. LKV 1962

  • i know this as the hanomag. but yeah...this thing has a scarier, more kick-ass look to it and had a MG42 towards the end, so it had some good firepower.

  • I can't believe the Stryker placed higher than this!

  • Oh yes, this is legendary vehicle much better then stryker.

  • @GordonofSeattle In all retrospect that comment was kinda pointless

  • @GordonofSeattle cuz the stryker is a boss and it only takes 30 of them to make a brigade?

  • @Mw2kingv2 Stryker is boss? huh?

Its decent, but there are lots of equally good or better IFV/APCs out there.

  • At the peak of their power in Germany the National-socialistic-Party just had four Million Members, that was just 6.6% of Germanys Population at that time...

so pls don't use "Nazi-Germans" anymore because being German or a Nazi is not the same =)

  • @ThugCologne

I don't remember what my original comment said. Perhaps I had communicated my idea in an unclear manner because I agree with what you said completely, 100%

  • The German Halftrack was the shit!

  • another half track?

  • I find this APC super sexy!

THis carried my grandfather and his kameraden in Russia

  • @Barbraossa85

From Soviet Union with love =)

  • @Barbraossa85 germans are stupid they suck from russia :)

  • That would be the CV9040 :)

    best

  • CV90 is overrated beyond anything else. If you have been with it 9 months you know why.

  • It isnt, stfu.

  • Good shit
