Slayer is the best thing that ever happened besides pizza. After listening to Slayer for about a couple of months, im crazy for Slayer! Long live Slayer!
I'm not that big of a Slayer fan, I have two albums; Reign In Blood and World Painted Blood, and thats all I know. What are some other good songs/albums?
@tylerjaydavis Depends on what you're looking for. If you like the varied thrash of WPB, go for Seasons in the Abyss first. If you want something a little slower than RiB without sacrificing intensity, go for South of Heaven. If you want something more proggy (yes, Slayer had a proggy time), Hell Awaits is the album for you. Really, there is no bad place to get into Slayer- only better places. Hope this helps.

@tylerjaydavis Show No Mercy (1983) Hell Awaits (1985) South of Heaven (1988) Seasons in the Abyss (1990) Divine Intervention (1994) Undisputed Attitude (1996) Diabolus in Musica (1998) God Hates Us All (2001) Christ Illusion (2006) TBA (2012) But we'll have to wait for a little while
It's all metal...it's all good....well the majority of all metal is good. And if I'm to be honest, after hearing just this track off this album, it's appealed to me alot more than Reign in Blood. I think my favourite Slayer album is God hates Us All, because I think Tom Arayas voice sounds best on that...but meh, all their albums are good :P
@TheMetalheadfromhell Yeah that's hella stupid. I mean Slayer has been on the cutting edge of metal for generations lol And to label them with some shit that came way after them is blasphemy. This band has wrote the book on metal and they are a genre in themselves.
@Gaffer213 In my mind its their worst but it still kicks a shitload of ass. This is their worst if I absolutely have to choose one. In all honesty I can listen to any Slayer album back to back and enjoy them all.
at one stage of my life i went cuckoo. its this and few more songs what made me wade through insanity without real harm. save honesty... but i had that handicap b4 too.
This song is bad ass as far as riff/percussion combo throughout and also touches on the primal urges that stem from masses going to war. Favorite Slayer song, time to go meat out.
@SCADaperez24 really? interesting. i know a couple people that will agree with you on that, but i personally like it. although it is different from most of their older style music, so i can understand why you would have that opinion
Out all the slayer albums, I personally think this is their worst one and this still has some damn good stuff on it, it doesn't suck as an album but in my mind isn't as good as Seasons or God hates for example.
@smooth1nz You must be the worst troll ever. but who cares. if it's true what you say, nobody would hear jack shit from bieber, since slayer's music is better, louder and badder, and if beiber finds a way to outloud slayer, he would anyway be out louded by fans screaming SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
@ELK1989612 You dont seem to realise that Slayer want to incorporate a more progressive pop sound for their next album which is why they have turned to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus for help.!
@ThePeacefulPacifist Yeah, I read that part, since I read your comment after all. Songs are whole items, like them as they are, or not. You're being picky, so, I'm being picky about your being picky, ultimately to show you how it's unnecessary to be picky.
@ThePeacefulPacifist It's nothing personal or anything, which is obvious since I don't know you personally. I actually agree with you, some of the solos are kinda shitty; misplaced even. Didn't mean for my comments to come off as abrasive or anything.
@cvg1099 Yes, so many of Kerry King's solos are random, out of those times I have seen Slayer live, Kerry has always missed notes during solos, however, he is a great guitarist, creates enthralling riffs and melodic harmony's. He needs more practise though.
Slayer will always be the best, i bet if they didnt change.. people would bitch about them 'all soundz the same!" and when they do change 'why tha fuck they change!!" and its not like they sold out, every single one of their albums is a aggressive as fuck and brings out the hatred inside you
Maybe my favorite Slayer album. The songs had a little bit more mid-paced, groove going on, making the thrashy parts sound that much faster. Slayer realized you can't play speed metal your entire career. Paul Bostaph kicks ass too. Listen to Divine Intervention there are some smoking drums on that album.
dude listen to the whole album( diabolus in musica), it's basically thrash metal only. By that, i mean it's still Slayer ripping apart stuff in speed basically. Slayer proved that you can play the same stuff for 30 years and still kick major arse
I don't think it's the worst of slayer, I think it's fast and agressive. Whomever says it's the worse, it's just because is a lombardo's fan and he's speaking by jealosy
The only difference between metallica and a street whore is............a whore have her own ethics, in fact her needs n necessities compels her to do that business..But, metallica??? wud not have existed without Cliff & Dave !!
One of the better tunes i've heard from slayer in a while . nice beat/bass ,and no ,''all over the place guitar solo's'' . my opinion so FUCK IT AN YOU .
Slow, evil angry then speeds up and transforms to rage! i brought this album CD to my martial arts club and we all smashed board after board while this was blasting through our speakers. so fuckin awesome ahaha rock on you satanic fuckers jks SLAYER!
@MartinezMKD Each SLAYER album is undeniably amazing.. I wouldn't consider any one album worse then the other, but I would love to discuss the different elements of Fukin heavy.!, they bring to the table..
@MrDismemberment I'm sorry to say that, but you are dumb. Everybody must decide it personaly. I have all slayer albums, I like most of them, but this one is #1 for me. And it's really sad, that on concert that i visited they haven't played any of it's songs, just like on almost every concert.
@MrDismemberment Oh... Read my comment one more time. You sad "there are better albums" instead of "imho there are better albums" and that could be an opinion that i respect, but not the one that you said. You can also see, that I used words "as for me". I don't give a shit if you don't agree with me, I don't need your support in this question ;-) Just want you to have some respect for my opinion.
THIS IS BASICALLY RAP, I CONSIDER THIS RAP OR "RAP METAL" AND I USE THAT TERM "LOOSELY" BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT RAP IS RAP METAL IS METAL, EVEN SLAYER HAD THEIR RAP METAL DAYS.
EVEN SLAYER HAD THEIR RAP METAL DAYS, THIS ALBUM WAS DEFINATELY A RAP METAL ALBUM, TAKING INFLUENCES FROM GHETTO/GANGSTA BANDS LIKE KORN AND LIMP BIZKIT.
@Lilbruceful No, Dave is no were near as skilled as Paul. All the drumming on Divine and Diabolus kicks ass. Overt enemy, 213, Mind control, Perversion of pain, Dittohead, Divine intervention, Killing fields, SS-3, Bitter peace, Death's head, Stain of mind. Dave can't play ANY of them propperly, you seen him play Stain of mind, fucks up on the bass, Dittohead he fucks up on the fills and bass.
@XXXpallisterXXX Dave is more skilled than Paul. If you think that Dave fucks up Paul's songs, have you heard how Paul fucked up the fills on Chemical Warfare for one?
@Vmt16 Dave is far from more skilled than Paul, Dave is sloppy live. He fucks up on EVERY song of Paul's he plays. Just listen to the fucking drums on Divine, GHUA and Diabolus. You'd be a fool to think Dave's drumming is more skilled than Paul's, or you either just don't know alot about metal drumming. Paul beats Dave in EVERY aspec of drumming. Even the bass.
@XXXpallisterXXX Doesn't sound to me like he fucks up. Dave's playing style is just not as technical as Paul's is. It's good that he plays them like he plays them and not trying to copy every single hit to match Paul's work exactly.
@Vmt16 No no no no no......when he plays Paul's songs he misses so amny fills out its not even worth him been there. He fucks up on most the fills in Dittohead, can't play Disciple without leaving all the great fills out, fucks up the pedals on Stain of mind. Paul plays ALL of Daves work to the standard of Dave himself. Paul is a far more skilled drummer, you can't say otherwise.
@XXXpallisterXXX What are you talking about, Dave plays Disciple perfectly! Stain Of Mind too, I can't hear where he fucks ups, he doesn't, plays it like HE plays it, not like Paul plays it. Nicko McBrain doesn't play the first 3 Iron Maiden albums like Clive Burr but nobody gives a shit because HE DOES A GREAT JOB, just like Lombardo does.
@Vmt16 O_o, Dave dosen't fuck up no Stain of mind???????? YES HE DOSE. Have you not seen the videos. Disciple he misses loads of fills out! Im not saying Dave is a bad drummer, but he can't compare to Paul, i mean really, weather he is your fav out of the two or what, Paul is just better. Im not going to argue about what is fact any longer.
@XXXpallisterXXX Stain Of Mind sounds pretty damn right to me, listening to it right now, I can't see where you rip out the fact that he misses on it.
@XXXpallisterXXX Actually Dave says in an interview that he didn't like a lot of the style Bostaph used on the records he was there for and he changes stuff in a bunch of songs "Disciple" being one of the more notable ones. The things I said are different from yours because they were in a magazine. Not just random fans thoughts. If you really think Bostaph is better than Dave. Listen to "Angel of Death" anytime Bostaph does it live. It sounds like a model-t starting up. Terrible. FACT
@SlayerGi0 this is the album were Slayer really experimented with their sound, they went in a more Nu Metal direction while still bein loyal to thrash an most slayer fans either have no idea it exist (the young fans (me) then their are the old ass fans the 80's when slayer started they were the most brutal fans of metal anyway, they hate this album because it is a more Nu Metal direction, which is much different to the 80's albums (Hell Awaits 1986, Show No Mercy 1983, Seasons in the abyss 1989)
@KlarKman1000 There where a few good thrash songs before Reign in Blood, like the first 2 tracks on Killing is my Business by megadeth where pretty epic to say the least
Slayer is the best thing that ever happened besides pizza. After listening to Slayer for about a couple of months, im crazy for Slayer! Long live Slayer!

@rikkeeked Out of all the albums, this is your favourite?
MrDismemberment 9 months ago
@MrDismemberment Can you read? Yes, maybe coz first time i heard slayer on diabolus
rikkeeked 9 months ago
@rikkeeked Yes, but that have much better albums than this one.
MrDismemberment 9 months ago
@MrDismemberment I'm sorry to say that, but you are dumb. Everybody must decide it personaly. I have all slayer albums, I like most of them, but this one is #1 for me. And it's really sad, that on concert that i visited they haven't played any of it's songs, just like on almost every concert.
rikkeeked 9 months ago
@rikkeeked Oh really? So because I disagree with you means that I'm dumb? And they don't play it because they and most of their fans don't like it.
MrDismemberment 9 months ago

KlarKman1000 9 months ago
EVEN SLAYER HAD THEIR RAP METAL DAYS, THIS ALBUM WAS DEFINATELY A RAP METAL ALBUM, TAKING INFLUENCES FROM GHETTO/GANGSTA BANDS LIKE KORN AND LIMP BIZKIT.

Paul Bostaph is o.k., but, Dave Lombardo will always be the better drummer! This coming from a drummer of over 20 yrs! SLAYER RULES ALL!!!!! 666!
Lilbruceful 9 months ago
@Lilbruceful No, Dave is no were near as skilled as Paul. All the drumming on Divine and Diabolus kicks ass. Overt enemy, 213, Mind control, Perversion of pain, Dittohead, Divine intervention, Killing fields, SS-3, Bitter peace, Death's head, Stain of mind. Dave can't play ANY of them propperly, you seen him play Stain of mind, fucks up on the bass, Dittohead he fucks up on the fills and bass.
XXXpallisterXXX 7 months ago
@XXXpallisterXXX Dave is more skilled than Paul. If you think that Dave fucks up Paul's songs, have you heard how Paul fucked up the fills on Chemical Warfare for one?
Vmt16 7 months ago
@Vmt16 Dave is far from more skilled than Paul, Dave is sloppy live. He fucks up on EVERY song of Paul's he plays. Just listen to the fucking drums on Divine, GHUA and Diabolus. You'd be a fool to think Dave's drumming is more skilled than Paul's, or you either just don't know alot about metal drumming. Paul beats Dave in EVERY aspec of drumming. Even the bass.
XXXpallisterXXX 7 months ago
@XXXpallisterXXX Doesn't sound to me like he fucks up. Dave's playing style is just not as technical as Paul's is. It's good that he plays them like he plays them and not trying to copy every single hit to match Paul's work exactly.
Vmt16 7 months ago
@Vmt16 No no no no no......when he plays Paul's songs he misses so amny fills out its not even worth him been there. He fucks up on most the fills in Dittohead, can't play Disciple without leaving all the great fills out, fucks up the pedals on Stain of mind. Paul plays ALL of Daves work to the standard of Dave himself. Paul is a far more skilled drummer, you can't say otherwise.
XXXpallisterXXX 7 months ago
@XXXpallisterXXX What are you talking about, Dave plays Disciple perfectly! Stain Of Mind too, I can't hear where he fucks ups, he doesn't, plays it like HE plays it, not like Paul plays it. Nicko McBrain doesn't play the first 3 Iron Maiden albums like Clive Burr but nobody gives a shit because HE DOES A GREAT JOB, just like Lombardo does.
Vmt16 7 months ago
@Vmt16 O_o, Dave dosen't fuck up no Stain of mind???????? YES HE DOSE. Have you not seen the videos. Disciple he misses loads of fills out! Im not saying Dave is a bad drummer, but he can't compare to Paul, i mean really, weather he is your fav out of the two or what, Paul is just better. Im not going to argue about what is fact any longer.
XXXpallisterXXX 7 months ago
@XXXpallisterXXX Stain Of Mind sounds pretty damn right to me, listening to it right now, I can't see where you rip out the fact that he misses on it.
Vmt16 7 months ago
@Vmt16 The pedals, their not right. His beat dosen't follow Bostaphs, its like he struggled so he missed abit out.
XXXpallisterXXX 7 months ago
@XXXpallisterXXX Actually Dave says in an interview that he didn't like a lot of the style Bostaph used on the records he was there for and he changes stuff in a bunch of songs "Disciple" being one of the more notable ones. The things I said are different from yours because they were in a magazine. Not just random fans thoughts. If you really think Bostaph is better than Dave. Listen to "Angel of Death" anytime Bostaph does it live. It sounds like a model-t starting up. Terrible. FACT

inedaBEER1 9 months ago
wait, is this a cover album or something? or this is a really underrated album? because no one ever mentions this album anywhere...
SlayerGi0 9 months ago
@SlayerGi0 this is the album were Slayer really experimented with their sound, they went in a more Nu Metal direction while still bein loyal to thrash an most slayer fans either have no idea it exist (the young fans (me) then their are the old ass fans the 80's when slayer started they were the most brutal fans of metal anyway, they hate this album because it is a more Nu Metal direction, which is much different to the 80's albums (Hell Awaits 1986, Show No Mercy 1983, Seasons in the abyss 1989)

@02xxxx20 @999gano fuck reign in blood what bout Show No Mercy??? Hell Awaits?!
KlarKman1000 10 months ago
@KlarKman1000 Yeah Reign in Blood was kinda lame considering ALL THE SONGS SOUND THE SAME! Its the most overrated slayer albums imo.
ZomgGuitarz1234 9 months ago
@ZomgGuitarz1234 yeah, but no matter whats been said bout it, Reign In Blood redefined thrash metal. hands down
KlarKman1000 9 months ago
@KlarKman1000 There where a few good thrash songs before Reign in Blood, like the first 2 tracks on Killing is my Business by megadeth where pretty epic to say the least
