Thank You for the very quick reply . I just put Gibson 490 T & R's in my Epiphone LP Standard . I haven't got it back from the shop yet . I have it wired as a Jimmy Page . I wish I saw your video first . I try to play the BLUES . Blues On .............. Jerry .
I'm looking into getting a blues jr (NOS) and a american strat which one would you say I should get first? Right now I have a mustang 2 amp and a epiphone standard les paul. I'm leaning towards the amp first but I would like to hear your opinion.
can you PLEASE do a video or demo of your tele into the junior with high overdrive or the amp cranked, i really want a tele but im scared of the drive sounds because i havent heard the sounds...
Very nice. Great sound comparison. I like that you used all positions on both guitars to really show the differences in sounds. Thanks , and nice chops too!!
Excellent video for tone comparison of a Les Paul and a Tele. A must watch for anyone trying to decide which sound is for them. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video as i always do, congrats!
Are you using a new set up to record your sound-it sounds like I'm listening to a professional recording-great job! Any recomendation on what you use to record. I'd like to post a video if I could achieve the quality you just did. Great playing as always. Cheers
I didn't change my recording set. In fact, I use just a Shure SM-58 to mic the amp. Microphone is plugged directly to PC (the 'mic in' conection). The recording software is Sony Vegas. I think you can achieve good results this way, it's worth the test.
Nice one ! I didn't know you had a tweed version of the blues junior too ! These guitars sound amazing. How come we don't hear that black strat too oten ?
sweet, first comment. I found me a new telecaster, not a fender, called a Jalopy. Flamed Maple Top and ash back, the stain is an amber like stain, it was mixed by bill gruggett, if your not familiar with him, he did alot of work in the Mosrite guitar factory long ago. the Pickups I found are wound right here in Bakersfield. they are called Harmonic Design pickups. Look into the 54 tele bridge and the Mini-strat tele neck.. they are they best Ive heard. like them alot better than the nocasters!

@hutchfromba
The 490 combo are more "rocker", in my opinion, but also great pickups. For bluesy sounds I prefer 57 classics and Burstbuckers 1 and 2.
But anyway, it will be a great improvement on your Les Paul!
Congrats!

Could you please tell me what kind of Pups do you have in that Gibson LP ? -- Jerry -- AKA -- HUTCHfromBA . Thxs !

@hutchfromba
Jerry, they are Gibson Burstbuckers #1 (neck) and #2 (bridge)

awesome vid.. may i ask, where do you get these backing tracks?
also, you should try a video like this but with the tagima telecaster and the fender tele.. that'd be interesting...
Madnessthisis 2 years ago
Thanks, man. Take a look at guitarbt and guitarbackingtracks.
Unfortunatelly I don't own the Tagima anymore, so I can't make the video you've suggest.
Cheers!

@BluesZep thanks, i'll try and look at those sites.. too bad the Tagima's gone.. seems i was too late with the suggestion.. oh well

Thanks, friend! In fact, I didn't have this amp until this weekend. Unfortunatelly I can't keep both, so I'll sell the tolex one.
I agree, I almost don't play the strat. I use it on gigs, but at home I usually play the others.

@BluesZep
i vote for a vid with the strat ! ;-)

interesting. I have that same amp (and I love it) but I cant use the reverb bast 2 or so. I see you have it up to 4 and it sounds really good.
