  • I got to work with her today!! so fun

  • YES - keatsian refulgence echoing pellucid praise- albeit thoughy tis dame alicya hoeffer who resounds , svagda sada , for the rest of my days. . .

  • perfection!!!!

  • :50 that high note is so gorgeous! this woman is my diction teacher. what a person! lol!

  • I love how Papageno just pigs out. I'd do the same!

  • well this is my italian diction teacher...weird. = )

  • Beautiful dress.

  • I love the blocking on this best of all the youtube clips of this aria.

  • this is alright but dorothea is better

  • I wore this exact costume in Yale's production!!

  • I like it. Perfect acting. Even some voice weaknesses add to the performance - woman in despair :)

  • she was ok. i love dorthea r. 's version better!!!!!

  • I LOVE FAITHY!!!!!!

  • Sorry, but her onsets suck.

  • Excellent video of an excellent singer. It's strange to think that this performance happened the year before I was born.

  • Very strange indeed, as I knew Faith when she sang this and it seems like yesterday.

  • I love how my diction teacher is totally on Youtube and totally has a grammy. Love you Faithy!!!!

  • That's right she sure does!

  • She grew up in the same home town I did, Vanceburg Kentucky, a county seat but with only 1,300 people. I have met her and heard here a few time, lovely woman.

  • I think this interpretation is too brutal...too loud.

  • No doubt about it; she's got a decent set of pipes. Is that a mezzo-ish inflection in the lower range? It's gorgeous.

But I still love my singing teacher, Terence Robertson, best.

  • pure coloratura!!!

  • You're right actually. My friend studies voice with her and she told me that Faith started out as a mezzo and trained her voice into a higher register.

  • That seems to happen to all the best mezzos, doesn't it? It almost makes plain mezzos seem second rate. *Sniff*.

  • I have Faith for diction class. I love her!! She is amazing!!!

  • she is my teacher too! cool! yeah, she is great, especially with her funny little kentucky accent=)

  • Musically, it's excellent and very expressive... a lovely voice too! I just wish she expressed a little more. These are powerful words, but she seems rather indifferent the whole way through.

  • Wowie, I wish she was my voice teacher! She is wonderful. I'm so glad to finally see a Pamina that is more dressed up! She's a princess for God's sake! lol! Seems like all the Pamina's I see are dressed in such plain or drab clothes and nothing much done with the hair. I also loved Tamino's costume in this. Beautiful.

  • This is one of my all time favorite singers. I heard her last year in Knoxville & was happy to find Esham still has the goods! I've heard her Pamina a number of times it's still my favorite interpretation. She talked about keeping the role longer than most & how on the surface it seems "simple" but she kept found great depth in it. Brava! And this is one hot Pamina . . . more woman than girl adding an interesting spin. Damn, she was good!

  • OMG!!! I don't believe that I found a clip of my voice teacher singing in an opera!!!

  • tjonesmusicman, where do faith teach....????

  • She teaches at Westminster Choir College and a Rutgers University

  • Well that's your problem not mine. So you deal with it. As for Westminster and Faith's teaching they still stand and you're here on youtube bitching about it! Get a life.

  • Maybe you were just a lousy singer. You seem very bitter and I think you should look into getting some help.
