I always wanted to pay the accordian, i bought one from Tom Rose a few years ago, my first song i learned to play was The Tiny Red Light, i love that song, i never meant your dad but i always loved his music and i remember when he wrote the song after you. I am from Seal Cove Fortune Bay and now live in Halifax. He was a great man and his music will live forever.
This song makes me proud to say I'm a true blood newfoundlander. Wandalee, it is because of men like your father that Newfoundland can be appreciated nation wide, and I respect that. This is an amazing song, and the lyrics are absolutely touching.
dear wandalee its only now that i realize the song wandalee was about you ive played and sang it for yrs also tiny red light is my favorite as well imiss my dad too rip johnny
I don't know why this shows a picture of Harry Hibbs on the cover? Johnny Drake from the Doreymen is singing this song. He is my Dad and I'm very proud of him & miss him very much!
yes it is john drake your dad he was the one off the best singers ever come out off newfoundland i can remember my dad coming home and playing his music when i was a kid sorry to hear your dad passed away i still play and love his music today and all the songs he wrote and sang we all awesome so takecare and nice to see you on here wandalee
@Wandalee61 Because of men like your father, this song makes me feel like a Newfie, though I've only been to little Salvage, Newfoundland, only four times... The good times, good food, Blue Star beer, and, most of all, the beautiful people of Salvage, Newfoundland who became my lifelong family and friends..
Ok....first of all this if not Harry Hibbs...although he is a magnificent musician, this song is performed by The Dorymen, with the lead vocals of Johnny Drake of Belleoram, Nl who will ever be a legend in FortuneBay
Are you performing this? It is not the voice of Harry Hibbs but what a wonderful voice and you do such a wonderful job with this song. Probably the best rendition I have ever heard.
If this is you singing, get your picture on here and be proud!
You are good! Excellent! Do I sense a lack of confidence? Get over it!
i sang this song on skipper and company when i was a kid
