  • Hey bucky thank you for your awesome tuts!!! But there's one thing I don't understand: why is that when i click on the submit button, if the checkbox is checked, right after the alert box is gone, the checkbox gets unchecked?

  • @PrincepsDinus When you submit your form it gets refreshed/reloaded, and the Checkbox isn't checked at the beginning so it will always be empty unless you change it of course.

  • Looking forward to some new js tutorials

  • how can you put a form in an alert/pop up? I need someone to pick either yes or no and i want that choice to pop up if a certain criteria is met

  • @overshotfilms08

    if you have a form and you want for example for the user to confirm an answer you can use the confirm() methord

    function doSomething(){ var getResult = confirm("are you sure you have the correct answer"); if (getResult== true){ alert("you selected yes"); }else{ alert("try again then"); }

    }

    all you need to do is react to the users selection.

  • I've worked hard to learn all of this but have no idea what it's for!!! How is Javascript used in web pages?

  • @Whelouski well now that you watched all of his tutorials, go to the local library and pick up a book or go to half(.)com and buy a book for like 5 bucks. i'd recommend a sams teach yourself book. either get the 24 hour one or the 21 day one depending on how much javascript your willing to learn

  • @Whelouski

    javascript is used to make a static html document more dynamic and parse data quickly on the client side.

    javascript is used to make things like slideshows, capture user responces in forms and validate them quickly and conviently.

  • Thanks for the tutorials, even if this is the last one for Javascript, they were useful.

  • holy crap you're back? yay i missed you

  • U rock coach haha i wont forget to brush my teeth and wait 4 ur next tutorial ...amazing

  • Does this work in regular notepad too?

  • Please don't stop Bucky... :(( You promised us that you would finish every series you make.

  • Wow.. You always stop right when we get to the really COOL stuff.

  • He added like 19 c++ tuts in one day!

  • is this the last of javascript season?????

  • is this tut the last one or there is more ? { i want you to respond me by adding a brand new javascript video ;) }

  • @Cyprus702 i think that this is it for this series as he said he would be doing intermediate and expert as well

  • whare your next video's...

  • Bucky, you've done a lot of different language tutorials, and I think now you should start doing things that can be done in many languages. I'm thinking things like algorithm building, or structuring and styling code.

    Just my opinion...

  • you should make videos on how to create a compiler and operating system or your own custom language/

  • @69hwoarang That's like a harvard class O.o

  • Bucky, would you like to continue pygame tutorials? You gave up at #19 :(

  • is this the last tutorial or there is more

  • Apparently using document.formName.elementName is outdated. Get elementsByName or getElementById is better.

  • Don't forget your "()" after you "validator" in your form. Took me 10 min. to figure that one out.

  • @tehscripttutor That's more suited to something server-side such as PHP. If you put it in the JavaScript, then the user would just be able to edit the Javascript (or not execute it at all) and always have a correct password.

  • Great Tutorial Bucky...

  • is there any way to change the title of the alertbox, like I want it to say Error instead of Javascript Alert?

  • Comment removed

  • someone cant type fast, You make too many mistakes

  • How would you make a password validator, as in, if the password is right, it takes you onto next page, if its wrong however it will just print out "WRONG PASSWORD". how bucky?

  • @tehscripttutor He will get to this in a few tutorials I'm sure.
