Wow, Nigel kicks butt. He does some things I haven't seen Jurgis Kairys do (not to say that he can't). These men are incredible artists working on the edge. I hope they are careful enough to stay this side of that line so we can keep watching them.
Tanto "experto", me aburre.
No, of course not it's not a Lycoming, it's a Vedeneyev M-14P, 360 h.p. , that's a Russian plane with a Russian engine, just look at the video, for sure it's a radial engine ...
I guess you know Ramon Alonso, he uses a Su-31 too, just listen to the noise it makes, then you'll no longer wonder what kind of engine is it
Hmm..it takes one heck of a clown to say Nigel cant fly properly. All I can say mate, show us your wins in that asthmatic Pitts, and we put them up right next to Nigel Arnot's successes..then see who cant fly properly. I doubt you'd come back walking after trying a 31! Yes, I flown the S-2, S-1, Z-50LS...and dont bag that guy sitting in your ragwing trainer!
Why does the engine sound not only resemble a lycoming IO-540 but is also not synchronized with the video? This plane is too much for the pilot...he can't stop his rolls precisely...back to sportsman....
At least you can hear the engine in this video, unlike your shit 20 sec pitts videos with elevator/porn music in the background. I'm surprised that you call yourself a pilot and you can't tell the difference between an M14P radial and a IO-540. I suspect just another loud mouth yank pitts pilot with his hand on the wrong stick :)
Very nice video, i wish i got my flight with this guy now, lol thats quite a bit more extreme manouvers than in your Yak-52. Excellent flying by the pilot also:P What other warbirds do u own if any?
I've flown with this pilot a lot (not in a Sukhoi) in various planes including an L39 Jet. He is ridiculously awesome all right, however, I think I would blow chunks during that routine. I'm glad you liked the Yak. Warbird Aviation at Archerfield are a very professional outfit with great pilots and are highly recommended for Warbird Adventure Flights. The combat flights where two planes go head to head are great.
It's certainly not sped up. It was given to me by the pilot on a disk as it was given to him by the camera operator. The Sukhoi SU-31 can roll at 400 degrees per second, which looks like about right and not any different to any other SU-31 movie on You Tube. It can roll wings level to wings level in a fraction of one second, real time. A lot of the camera work is tight zoom, which may add to the speed effect, I don't know.
I have sent an email to several Sukhoi pilots to watch this video and either confirm or deny my belief. Everything appears sped up, roll rate, the sound and the tail slide seemed to be the most obvious indicator. Watch some of Jurgis' flights in the 31, the roll rate is nowhere near this.
Hey dude, if you don't like it, don't watch it! You accuse this of being fake and you post some flight sim movie of a pretend Canadair airliner taking off ... Please!
I never claimed the CRJ vid to be anything other than an incaccurate simulation. And, experienced Sukhoi pilots agree that the timing is off. If I am right, then wouldnt you want to know that something is amiss with your video eqipment?? I watch it because it is still a great video, but from someone who has seen hundereds of Sukhoi flights, something seems a tick off.
Let me make this clear, I did not take this video. An aircraft spotter took this video of a mate. HE then sent it to my mate on disk who gave it to me. I do not have the equipment or knowledge to speed it up. If the guy wanted to doctor up the video, why didn't he edit out his thumb in one of the shots? What would be the motivation of the original video operator to speed up the video? It's no skin off his nose if it looks fast or slow! ..see below..
