  • GASP!!! Uploaded on my birthday!! I LOVE this story!! It's my all-time favorite! Thank you!!

  • Well, if the internet dies because of SOPA/PIPA, at least I'll still be able to watch this.

  • RIP manish - the shadow puppet in the spacesuit - died dec 2, 2010 falling from a horse.

  • Raavan has 9 heads in one scene :P lol

    @):):0:27:16

  • Awesome film. Nice to see some asian animation that's not anime-esque (even if i like that too)

  • near the end the blues was unbearable. I didnt see any message or point to this movie. I dont understand the hype behind this movie. Overall it was pointless to watch

  • @GoldenStat3 The point behind it is that it's copyright free. Maybe you'd find the artist behind it is more interesting than the movie itself.

  • The animation is a must see for both its ability to say a story the irony and craftmanship. The parallel drawn, similarities clear and music is fantabulous!

  • Nices done!!

  • This film is utterly beautiful and deeply moving. I'm swept away and deeply in gratitude to Ms. Paley for sharing such a soulful and profound work.

  • Love the Boney ma adaptatin to Boney _ M Hooray Hooray! at 1.06

  • I ma little curious to know why an important character like Laxmana had been removed who's presence brings our the characters of Ram and Ravana more sharply!

  • P.S. Ravan's expression at 0:26:27 is priceless.

  • One of the saddest and loveliest indie films I ever watched. Growing up in India, we learned of Rama and Hanuman's bravery and courage, but not enough of Sita's integrity. I wish the issue of Sita's treatment by Rama would've been raised by Hindus themselves.

  • So @questioncopyright does this video still appear to be blocked in germany? Since i have a history getting only with those GEMA Notices. I am curious what acctually do they in ther free time... execpt bathing in fraud money and playing Nazi XD

  • I think she has put across her interpretation of the Ramayana and in particularly the role of Sita in it wonderfully!

  • 44:22 Ancient aliens?

  • As an ex-Hindu atheist I've always been really fond of the Ramayana, having grown up watching and reading it in myriad forms. However, it has always been my bone of contention with the story how a man labelled as the 'paragon of goodness and virtue' can treat his own wife in such a degrading and callous manner. I'm glad Nina voiced this opinion in her interpretation. Of course, the sheer hilarity in her direction helps, too.

  • I like the animation, but all these musical numbers just overstayed it's welcome, man. Also, I learn from this cartoon that ancient Indians are sexist, misogynic assholes. Chalk that up as anti-hinduism, I guess?

  • @Sleexb Name one major ancient culture that didn't comprise sexist, misogynistic assholes.

  • @thephilosopherkartik I never suggested that Indian civiliazation is unique in it's misgynic traditions. I can see why you'd be defensive on this issue, though.

  • @thephilosopherkartik Pre-Marduk worship Bayblonia?

  • Wonderful, loved this film!! Very Creative! Thanks!!

  • I didn't know how racist Indians can be... Oh wait, I´m Black so i DO know how racist many of them are.

That said i must add, any one hating on this amazing piece of art is either a reactionary shit or delusional. Or both.

  • I always thought Shiva was a Goddess, I wonder who I've been thinking of all this time lol

  • @AssaraxDemyx14 Shiva's kind of weird; she's thought of as both a man and a woman. I'm not sure whether this depends on the age or sub-culture.

  • After watching, went on wikipedia for Ramayana. Absolutely adore this film!

  • so far to real story, Laxman cut Srupankha nose, then Ravan kidnapped sita. much chutiyagiri in this vdo.

  • Comment removed

  • For Fuck sake: This video is a way of bringing alien biblical doctrine to people who wouldn't normally have any interest in such things. It's amazing art, and took the film maker hours. Shut up and learn what it means to have a laugh.

  • I'm Hindu and I found Nina Paley's interpretation wonderful, engaging, funny, and thought provoking. Those who protest lack imagination and think that they have the monopoly on how religion ought to be embraced by people. Hinduism in its truest form is all about interpretation of the divine by the self; it's not about preaching by idiots with a stick up their ass.

  • @JSDC007 beautifully said!

  • I'm a Hindu and I'm all for creative freedom and everything...but hurting a person's religious sentiments and portraying ideals falsely is wrong...having creative freedom does not mean u can hurt people's values...the way sita is shown with the lotus breasts is quite shocking...this video should be modified..also the facts r not completely right..and everyone saying tht hindus r not tolerant is total bs...we r most tolerant...pls do not hurt ppl's feelings in the name of creative freedom

  • @abhireddevil92 Wow. You don't get it, do you? The maker of the film is comparing the Ramayana to HER life and how it is similar. And freedom of speech is freedom of speech. If you are offended by someone's personal interpretation and art, then there's nothing you can do about it. It's their personal interpretation. And Nina, the creator, did not make this to degrade anyone's beliefs. This is her interpretation, and there are literally thousands of different ways to interpret the Ramayana.

  • @abhireddevil92 Crawl back under that filthy rock in Kabyahastajahzstan, dude. OR grow the fuck up.

  • Sita's breasts look lovely! Very big indeed! Lol I think Priya Rai is the new Sita! <3

  • bastard d Animator.. I wud like her to be dressed (Half revealing blouses having a Lotus Flower tucked on them !) and portrayed like this !!

Was it created for kids or an Adult Cartoon ??? .. Shame on this entire team, have some respect for our faith idiots !!

SHAME !! Go bastards show your Valorous creativity for Any other religion you wud be slaughtered there only !!

    CRAP !!

  • you bitch i will sue you who ever you are and where ever you are i thought cristines are human but now i got that they too are demon. by making this type of movie what you want to prove that cristine people don' have knowledge they only can think about sex and lust you know nothing about dharma. i will see you in court on this

  • Continuation of earlier text:- Just because you do not believe that Ramayana is real history does not give any sort of freedom to denigrate any God. Non belief should be kept as non belief and should not turn into denigration of deities.

Anyway, only matured people can think about it. So dont take it seriously, the comment is not for you to read!

  • Well. The kind of words you are using clearly shows the culture you belong to. The objections are against denigration in the film which is based on non real things and instead of understanding that point, you started making personal comments (you have mind etc..) which clearly shows your inability to concentrate on core point discussed here. Being a feminist film does not give any sort of freedom to show denigrating things.

  • The comments make me say 'lol religion'

  • @tavishn lol me too

  • I enjoyed the visual art and the music and liked everything up until near the end. Then everything got way too preachy. If you somehow missed the sympathetic feminist angle up to that point (you'll know when you get to it) don't worry, you're about to get beaten over the head with it. HARD.

  • We jusy watched this today in my Religion and Art in South Asia class. the teacher grew up Hindu. He loves this movie. I think everyone in the class loved it. It shows that humans feel the same things all through the ages, and that the gods are not really so different from us, or we from them. It makes them relatable. Anyone who thinks this movie is somehow mocking Hindu beliefs, or who is not charmed by the genuine human feeling of this movie is missing a piece of their soul. Go find it.

  • Comment removed

  • We had to watch this in my arts & culture class. It's so weird! But it does teach you about Hinduism........... I guess...

  • I myself am Hanuman and this is fine.

  • You guys better go India and listen to it again. I don't hate you, guys. I want a proper respectable way of presentation rather than this kind. Being Hindu is not the only thing, dude (@GosseBosma). How you present the epics of Hindu mythology to this modern world is also important in being Hindu.

  • There is lot of denigration in this video about God Ram and Goddess Sita. This is no disturbing. How can Ram kick Sita ever? What would children think abot lord then? Ram is shown fearful character he is shown fainting when hears about missing sita. Has it ever happened? IS this true history? Sita showing breasts is also shown. Was Sita like this? THis is pure anti hindu agenda and is hopeless work.

Immediately remove this video from youtube.

  • @ashusarode Okay. I get your objections (don't agree, but I'm not a Hindu of any sort)--and you have a right to them. You have your own mind, yes? However, I think maybe you don't understand that 1. It's a feminist film; 2. Some of us don't believe the Ramayana is real history; 3. Not everyone will agree with you. Given that, you might want to take this film "with a grain of salt"--not take it too seriously.

Those of us who want to know will go read the actual story. So relax.

  • Happy Dussehra

  • Now I understood why Epics were not written in The US or other European countries but in India, 'Cos they would 've done the same mistake in understanding the Epic as it can be seen in this movie. LMAO. Anyways nice piece of work by Nina Plague...oops!! sorry Plate? no no... its Paley... Am i right?

  • well... at least it makes people curious about hinduism....

  • That was real art. i loved it :)

  • i liked the girl with huge tits

  • I am not Hindu, but I did not perceive this as an insult to Hindus. I certainly think anyone, especially someone of Hindu faith, has the right to dislike the film as it may not represent the faith as they understand it. People also have the right to enjoy the film. But, some of the insults in the comments have been disgusting and cruel. That is the kind of behavior that prevents any kind of discussion and I applaud the people who are being understanding, whether or not they agree with the film.

  • @AudioVideoDisco06 You had to love the part that paused for intermission. That was classic. For those that don't know Bollywood movies are usually 3 to 4 hours long. Hence, why there is always an intermission. I loved it. Great work.

  • @sheragroove My friend (who I miss dearly) was doing an exchange and went to college with me. We watched so many Bollywood movies. She LOVED the romances (new and old) and sometimes, as an American, I would go crazy because of the length and/or the repetition of the plot. XD Sometimes it took us days to find time to finish one. (I don't mind subtitles or musicals, but I really liked different movies like Fanaa and Taare Zameen Par - those were great. <3 )

  • What the hell man? what happend to some of the guys here..why the hell you are supporting this senseless animation..A TRUE HINDU TREAT RAMA AND SITA AS A FATHER AND MATHER. Saying that you are a hindu would you allow someone create damn on your parents?? Grow up man..

  • @ssk369 This was a wonderful and quite creative take on an ancient and sacred story. It actually inspired me to read the Ramayana. Instead of criticizing the way the story is being presented. Try to see it as exposing new audiences to a part of Indian history and storytelling. My God Man open your heart and your mind. The world is getting smaller, while world views are becoming vastly larger then they were in the past. Find the Love and Celebrate!

  • @sheragroove But why not share true story of Rmayana? Why denigrate deitied like Lord Ram and Sita?

  • கிறித்துவ மதவெறியர்களின் இன்னுமொரு தாக்குதல் இந்து மதத்தின் மீது இந்த முட்டாள்களை அடித்து விரட்ட வேண்டும்

  • @wittymani1 whoa, what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • top most comment saying "I AM ALSO A HINDU"

hindu doesnot mean any crowd which just run after his own selfishness ,day today'enjoyment but A HINDU is one who devot his whole life on others ,,not to destroy meaning of epics of others ,,,....well u bloody bitch will never understand because your parents never teach you real manners...the only thing YOU know is how to earn money and enjoy.........

  • It would be better without the music.

  • I just cant understand how Indians cooperated on such a MIMICRY of Ramayana! What ever one says for justifying this, its just not right!

  • Where the hell is Lakshman?

  • @eesharc very good question!

  • Also for the people who consider this an attack. Why do you think like that? Especially the strength of Hinduism has been in discussing and accepting new ideas and adding them. That is why we survived so long. This is just a version made in a way that westerners can relate to. Whats the harm in them trying to understand it in their own way? Let us be the bigger person here.

  • Seems it is Ramayana movie season. A Ramayana movie in telugu is coming out and another one in Tamil could be in the works. You know what that means, a Bollywood remake can't be far off :D

  • @akshay377 Free speech. You can't make her shut up, and I can't make you shut up. If you don't like that... Too bad!

  • This movie is absolutely brilliant! I had no idea what I was getting into when I first saw it. (Unfortunately with spoken captions >.<) And now it's a favorite now and forever!

  • Fantastic work! Loved it.

  • @arpitmathur80, what a jackass you are. I hope you enjoy everyone that take you for a ride.

  • Can u dare to do such an insult to other religions including islam and christianity .No u cant, because if u do, you will be doomed by an another 9/11 which probably u would not like and obviously we also will not like it too.So stop doing this...

  • Another etic attack on Hindu religion and culture. Reaction: The elephant strides while dogs bark.

  • god bless humans who were once god....god were humans ones...we created dem or they created us...eventually we r one...no truth no lies...enjoyed it

  • PLEASE PLEASE tell me this will be available on DVD some day. I want to show it to everyone I know! Not even sure how I stumbled across this, but it's amazing and inspiring!

  • @TheBadAuntie - It *is* on DVD on the questioncopyright store.

  • @NoReentry Interesting observation. Never thought about it before, but I completely get what you are saying..

  • I protest & request to stop this film & it's videos on net.We hindu should understand that it is our duty to protest against these kind of attacks on Hinduism. Can any body dare to animate non-Hindu gods & heroes like this then why every time it happens with Hinduism only. Are we Hindus & our Dharma, our gods are so cheap that anybody can spoil them & make a joke of us?????????????????????????????? THINK & Act !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bbyadav837 As a Hindu pantheist, I'd like to say that nothing is too holy for scrutiny. This piece is not an attack on Hinduism any more than the Tamil movie Dasavatharam is an attack on Indian foreign policy. It is simply a retelling of a famous story, emphasizing that even through Rama was an incarnation of Vishnu, he was a mortal man bound to make mistakes regarding Dharma. Also, other religions and mythologies are constantly reanimated. Look at Disney's Hercules and the 90's movie Dogma.

  • Dogma. Jesus Christ Superstar. Life of Brian. There, now you can stop being offended knowing that people treat other religions with irreverence and good humour too.

  • @IndigoViolent Jesus Christ Superstar was only offensive because it was bad. How about The Last Temptation of Christ, where Jesus has a dream-sequence sex scene with Mary Magdalene. That got a few people upset.

  • @bbyadav837 Are you serious? Have you seen South Park, where Jesus is a regular feature and Moses is shown as a spinning top that appears in a camp fire, or Family Guy, where Jesus was working in a record store? The musical that swept the Tony Awards this year is called The Book of Mormon, which includes songs about doing God in the backside

  • Go and search Youtube for the song Hasa Diga Ebowai.

  • People who get so offended so easily by EVERYTHING shouldnt go out side let alone have internet acces. Just put your heads in the sand.

  • 44:29 Totally kool. :D

  • @mind14, because you dont know better. I petty you.

  • this is badaly hurting my relision

    it should be stopped

  • VERY BORING........

  • I myself am a Hindu, and i do not find this video degrading or making a mockery of any kind. Nina showed true art. Just because she shows this differently from how it was taught to you does not mean that making this video was wrong. No one tells you what you can and cannot say, therefore this video should be left alone. Its portrayal is unusual and creative. This video doesn't represent tolerance of Hindus, but how easily it is for us to hate others.

  • I'm Hindu and theist and there is nothing wrong with interpreting the Epics in modern art. Do these critics wail whenever someone tells the story "wrong" at bedtimes all over India. Grow up and appreciate some charming animation. If God didn't want this to be a musical he wouldn't have made the costumes so fabulous. ;)

  • @GosseBosma HaHa, good one! A Hindu with a sense of humor. Wish we could sell them at the duty free.

  • @GosseBosma, I hope you are the last of its kind, you disgusted me.

  • @GosseBosma : You guys better go India and listen to it again. I don't hate you, guys. I want a proper respectable way of presentation rather than this kind. Being Hindu is not the only thing, dude (@GosseBosma). How you present the epics of Hindu mythology to this modern world is also important in being Hindu.

  • The comments are actually doing more to damage the reputation of hinduism than the video has or ever ever would.

  • What if some Hindus came up with "Jesus sang the blues" ?? Don't worry they won't !! The greatest strength of Hindu Ideology has been it's tolerance and respect for others, this has stood the test of time that's why we have people like Mahatma Gandhi. The very act of putting efforts in denigrating Hinduism shows the kind of religion this person is practising and how long this ideology will survive !!!

  • @vivekjyoti7 Ever hear of Jesus Christ Superstar? We do this to religious and historical figures we respect and are fascinated by. It's very common in Western culture, all the way back to the classical Hellenes. Try not to be offended.

If you want to make "Cato Plays the Sitar" I'll go all in for it.

  • To me this film is not art but just a expression of your vulgar and devious thoughts through a art medium.

Calling this film as art, is a denigration of art itself.

True art lovers should condemn such so called art forms.

  • I'm a Hindu. I'm not a too religious a person myself.

And you seem to be a atheist.

Still I think as a Human being we should respect other persons beliefs and thoughts.

Here we are talking about Billions of Hindus.

  • How easily people fall so very low to gain some cheap popularity.... they think "बदनाम होंगे तो भी नाम होगा " very sad though. Her work shows the kind of values she is brought up in....can't really blame her much...she just did not get the right values. I feel sad for this person...and pray to God to give her wisdom and peace so she stop doing destructive work.

  • If you don't know about the Hindu religion let me tell you that Ramayana is a history for us and not just a fable.

For us Hindus's Lord Rama is not a 'LIKE' a god but he is a 'GOD' (an Avatar of god).

You are knowingly or unknowingly ridiculing billions of Hindus feeling and religious beliefs.

  • Please do not provoke billions of Hindus for violent reactions and actions with your so called art .

For us Hindus this is very very offensive and hurting our feelings.

  • I hope you have guts to make a similar film about Muhammad (p b u h) and Islam.

    P. B. U. YOU!

  • You fundamentalist twirps are proof positive that violence is rooted in ignorance and stupidity. You don't even know your own religion, how its scriptures are rife with sexuality, that the prudery of Hinduism came about from acquiescence to the Muslim and then Christian conquerors, didn't exist in ancient India, sexuality was prominent in temple art, but not after the conquest. I's not your property anyway, there are about a thousand versions of the Ramayana, and not just in India or Hinduism.

  • @wulfeboy

I think it shows that violence is rooted in psychology. Likewise, ignorance, stupidity, and prudishness are also rooted in psychology.

  • too much offensive...........

  • @loginandroid123: Make fun of my beliefs all you want. I have real evidence to support mine.

  • wtf is this why do u have to do all the hindu gods and godesses has anybody tried to make fun of muhammed or christ, all of u are racist bastards

  • Brilliant

  • This video should be taken down immediately! It is hurting the sentiments of millions of hindus worldwide.

  • A sudden influx of Hindutva trolls on here I see... troll on people, you are the reason why intolerance and censorship is still abound in an empathic society of today.

  • I think if anything this video makes people more aware of the story of Rama and Sita, I wish that more tales could be taught like this because it really is informational and interesting. I think everyone who is religious about this needs to cool down. No offense was meant, a girl wouldnt starve herself out to ridicule a story she really loved and respected. This girl really wanted to show her perspective of this story while keeping it in context, and I ADMIRE her hard work and dedication.

  • Take off this Offensive video please!!! You can make a video of your own mum with my dog. I won't mind. But please don't offend our sacred sentiments. Nina can find more topics to ridicule.

  • An offensive film made by some assholes insulting the great God Rama and Goddess Sita, misrepresented as per own twisted perception. All the anti-Hindu assholes come up and start speculating on bullshit and telling Hindus to be "tolerant". Make a similar movie on muslims and talk tolerance. You'll be too pussified to publish it. Take off this insult to the Hindus. Its not just about a religion. Its about the spiritual sentiments and respect for the Deities WORSHIPPED in INDIA for ages!!

  • @Chhenu : What exactly is insulting about this video? Why is anything which has an abstract opinion to your own "anti-hindu"? Everyone has their own "twisted perception". From my perspective, believing in ANY deity is pretty twisted. You do make a good point about Islam, by the way - the muslims are also retardedly fanatical about defending their faith, so much so that they're willing to defy their own religious teachings of peace to do so... it's disappointing that you do the same. (cont.)

  • @Intimidat3d, The Hindu deities and their worship have very precise rules and how they are to be approached. You have to study and follow it to have it right. You cannot haphazardly budge in with abstract twisting of your own. Just like writing music has its own rules. Even improvisation has. You just cannot make a kindergarten kid sit on a piano and let him bang on it and insist on calling it music. The deities are worshipped as per specific bonafide methods developed.

  • @Intimidat3d, the methods were developed by highly evolved beings in accordance with Vedic principles. Now imagine a person comes in with no knowledge about this, who is a mere CARTOONist and who's job is to find humor and ridicule in everything and twists as per her own tickling bone and makes a mockery of it all. This is not acceptable. It is not about "fanaticism". It is about right and wrong. If you think anyone worshipping God/deities is "twisted" then that's ur thinking.

  • @Chhenu : No, YOU BELIEVE the methods were developed by highly evolved beings in accordance with whatever.. and that's fine, i'm not going to tell you you're wrong (even if it is pretty ridiculous), because everyone in this world has the ability to think for themselves. It (unfortunately) seems to have become the doctrine of most organised religion to repress that right.

  • @Intimidat3d, We have a VERY VERY STRONG BASE for that BELIEF. Its not that we believe. All the atheists need to eat meat, drink and engage in prostitution and when they see religious values hit their ego and guilt trip them, they start attacking the religions calling them "Gangsta" and evil stuff. If you don't like our doctrines, then go your way! DON'T pick or touch our topic!! Go to a strip club and enjoy your short life while it still lasts. But plz don't make mockery of others!!

  • @Intimidat3d, everything is insulting about this video. If you are serious, why don't you come to India and live in a temple, and learn and follow the worship rules and principles behind them. Pass them through your consciousness with love, respect, devotion, compassion and study under a bonafide Guru, who Lord Rama was and what he stood for. Then u can understand the whole cartoon film is an insult. Its like showing Jesus smoking a joint in a strip bar - U will ask what is insulting?! THINK!!!

  • @Chhenu : Jesus smoking a joint in a strip bar would be pretty funny. You're a natural! Now, if only you can allow that sense of humour to mature further, you might actually realise that humour is almost always directed at a particular person, entity, group, behavior, company, action, or faith. You're quite right, people make fun out of atheists all the time, it's fine... because I know, in my heart, that what I believe is true. Don't you? Why do you feel the need to react so violently?

  • @Intimidat3d, Yes. But there is no violent reaction!! Yet you label a simple respectful protest as "violent"?? Then u haven't seen violence! Make a film on Muhammad n see the real thing man!! As I said, I can make a film about your mum and me having fun together! :) If you react violently, I can read u a lecture on tolerance n tell u its not ur problem. How would u like that? I can also make a film about u doing retarded things that u never did n relase for mass view. U still won't protest?

  • @Chhenu : Trying to get a video taken down IS a violent reaction. It's offensive to the freedom of humanity. You're free to make a film about fucking my mum if you want ... particularly if it's artistic, creative, and expressive, like this video here. Go ahead - post another video. Just don't try to censor this one.

  • @Intimidat3d, Taking down an OFFENSIVE video is NOT a violent reaction. Don't lump in everything in one mound of your opinion of "freedom". Your agreeing to publish a film fucking ur mum shows what type of heritage and traditions u come from. Obviously, u have no idea, what the ideals and values of Ramayana are all about. Yet u r here professing "freedom" etc. I'll do everything I can to sensor this perverted film. :) And its not just me.

  • @Chhenu : Um, no, *I* wouldn't publish a video of someone fucking my mum. That was YOUR suggestion. I challenged you to post some creative video which challenged the ideas portrayed in this video, and THAT was the best you could come up with. Pitiful. You're quite right - I have no idea what Ramayana is, and nor do I care - there is NOTHING offensive about this video, the only thing YOU find offensive is that it contradicts what YOU believe - that simply promotes free thought.

  • @Intimidat3d, Yes I proposed it and u obviously didn't like it. I don't have to come up with another video to counter an insult. This video MUST be removed by all means! Period. If your freedom of thought is insulting someone's sacred sentiments, then that thought is not right. You cannot do just anything and put it under "freedom of thought" bullshit!!! If you call me a scum, I'll be sure to break your teeth, so that next time u think twice! It's that simple. If I question u, u say I have hate!

  • @Chhenu : If you can cast your mind back by ten minutes, you may recall that what I said was "You're free to make a film about fucking my mum if you want ... particularly if it's artistic, creative, and expressive, like this video here." .. it's entirely up to you what you post, given that it's legal. It's interesting that you say "that thought is not right" - you're saying my thoughts are wrong, now? You know, there were another group of people who felt that way before 1945...

  • @Intimidat3d, Important values for human life are more valuable than anything that goes in the name of "artistic" bullcrap. Yes you are wrong if you are supporting insults to the highest values. Period. The problem is also with the west's vision about religions where they lump in all pseudo-religious fallacies that happened with any revolutions into one n start comparing it to the Vedic Hinduism of which they have no idea. No comparison to some group of ppl before 1945.

  • @Intimidat3d, u r busy defending this video cuz u think its funny, artistic, freedom of speech, expression etc. But u miss the center point around which this video revolves. However fine cutlery may be, food is more important. Having fancy cutlery, u cannot eat shit in it. There is a higher though process to this knowledge. Ramayana comes from India, not America. To understand it authentically, one has to understand it as we do. Not make a mockery of it n b offensive in the name of freedom.

  • @Chhenu : Yeah, it seems you just don't get it. You've been told what to think, probably by your parents, mentors - and instead of allowing yourself the freedom to think for yourself, you've just assimilated that information and now you're reacting angrily whenever anyone contradicts that. I'm abandoning this argument - not because I think you're right, but because there's no point in arguing with someone who is so conceited. Youtube won't remove it anyway - so have fun with that.

  • @Intimidat3d, No i won't get the wrong as right dear. And do you get it??? If you know NOTHING about the Ramayana, would it help doing your own thinking about it? You can imagine anything cartoonish about it. Will that correspond to the truth about it?? You guys are confusing spiritual facts with mundane topics that u can ridicule and twist anyway u like. Its not a artist's design. There are specific bonafide doctrines and principles. Ur portraying Sun as moon doesn't change eternal Truths.

  • @Chhenu : Personally, I feel that anyone who is so engrossed in their faith that they feel they need to FIGHT anyone who has a difference of opinion, is simply insecure about their own belief. Let this atheist teach you a little bit about faith. Faith isn't about what other people think. It's about what YOU believe, and how you choose to follow those beliefs. Why not just focus on your own ideas, instead of being all hindu gangsta and telling everyone else that they're wrong?

  • @Intimidat3d, Hindus are tolerant and they don't have any insecurities. Its the oldest religion on the earth. What insecurity can it have?? But it doesn't mean, any Tom Dick and Nina can come and hurl insults and we are supposed to keep mum. This is not insecurity, but addressing the insult and wrong. You cannot make a wrong and dirty propaganda against the sacred values of more than 1 billion people just for your cheap entertainment!!!

  • @Intimidat3d, We are focusing on our ideas. You don't like them, you are free to go your way! :)

But if you stop and start making mockery, then its a problem and we have to reply back saying its not the right thing to do. Isn't it so simple and respectful way to answer back? So you can have respects for others, cuz they ain't telling you anything in the first place.

  • @Chhenu : The creator of this video is focusing on their ideas. If you don't like them, you are free to go your way!

But if you jump up an down and start trying to have the video taken down, then it's a problem and we have to reply back saying it's not the right thing to do. Wouldn't it be simpler to answer back?

Post another video, your creative work, describing what's on your mind, telling people about the hindu faith and why you feel so strongly... (cont)

  • @Intimidat3d, WRONG! The creator of this video is focusing on our story of which she has no right. She can think whatever she wants. But to release it on a mass scale in a demeaning manner?? This is not acceptable. So hey you didn't say how would you feel me releasing a cinemascope film all over the world showing your mum and me having some dirty fun together? Some really really dirty fun!?!! How about that? I'll tell u to have tolerance and that I'm focusing on my stiff only?! eh??

  • @Chhenu : There IS a difference between this video and what you're suggesting. What you're suggesting is maliciously and callously defaming an individual, which is illegal. This video is simply a creative work abstracted from hindu beliefs. It's not saying what you believe is wrong. In fact, it's not attacking Hinduism in any way.

Of course, you assume it to be an attack on Hinduism because you're so engrossed by your faith that you feel that anyone with a differing opinion is attacking you

  • @Intimidat3d, Yes there is a difference between this video and what I'm suggesting. What I'm suggesting is ONLY about ONE individual. This video is maliciously and callously defaming many individual Gods whom more than a BILLION humans WORSHIP keeping them on their altar everyday!!!! Do you see the difference dear?? Yes we are engrossed, and you have NO IDEA of what it is. And since u have no idea what you are defaming, WHY in the blazing are you doing so?? This is mindless. Just 4 cheap fun??

  • @Chhenu : There are billions of people who think that your "Gods" don't even exist! Can you get any more offensive? Well, actually, yes you can, because it's not offensive at all. It just challenges what you believe. It's a shame you can't handle that.

  • @Intimidat3d, there are billions of idiots out there, which is fine by me. I'm not in charge of t heir thinking. They can think whatever they want. Till they come to me and start making an offensive propaganda about me and my beliefs. That's where the problem starts. You can have your opinions about this world. I can have mine. That is perfectly alright. That IS freedom of thought. You can follow what u believe in n I can follow mine. Till u start telling the world what I follow is B.S.!

  • @Chhenu : That's really amusing to me. "They can say whatever they want, AS LONG AS IT AGREES WITH WHAT I THINK!"

There are many videos that say that atheism is B.S, including yours! Should I try to get those taken down? No - because i'm comfortable with what I believe.

  • @Chhenu : (cont from previous reply).. That way, people get to see BOTH opinions, and make up their OWN mind, instead of only seeing the viewpoint that YOU want them to see. Free thought is great, huh? But perhaps that's exactly what you don't want. You don't want people to be able to make up their own mind. Maybe you are as stupid and conceited as the Christian fanatics in the USA who take factual, proven science (Evolution) out of the schools because it's contrary to what they believe.

  • @Intimidat3d, the west has no traditions as deep as the spiritual Vedic culture and no such achievements either. There are pre-established facts. Irrespective of what you want to think and have opinion about. You are not qualified to see "both sides of story" in this case. Its not a criminal case here and now. Its something that happened in the Indian tradition n has NOTHING to do with American or British culture or understanding of that period of India. So please...!!

  • @Chhenu : I'm sorry, since when am I respresenting "the west"? You seem to have an agenda, your hate is apparently targeted towards a specific group of people..

  • jis kisane bhi ye film banayi hai uski maa ki Chu.....

  • All this because Rama didn’t want to catch man-cooties.

  • i'm hindu and pretty much getting religious and i think this video's pretty hilarious! i mean yeah technically it is being disrespectful, just like if you took the image of christ and depicted him having sex with prostitutes. but the point is there's a humorous side to everything. "Omtbt" below is right though, be careful with these satires b/c there are a lot of religious fanatics who will think it's in their line of duty to punish those who commit blasphemy, in the name of God, too.

  • Tolerance does not mean acceptance all non sense. There was a war of Kurukchetra precisely for showing what happens if you cross the limits of provoking intolerance. Shear non sense cannot be accpted. Try to make such a movie on MOhammad . Then you will not be alive to show it.

  • @omtbt Tolerance means realizing that what other people believe has nothing to do with you. No one making this movie says we should kill Hindus, or deny them jobs, or segregate them in schools and give them a crappy education, or rounding them up for imprisonment, or give them second class status, or make them sit at the back of the bus. It is not harming Hindus in any real way. If it upsets you, then that's something YOU need to deal with. Grow up.

  • @calspace, hey listen up dude, I can make a movie about your mum having sex with my dog. I'm not saying in the movie that people need to do anything bad to your mum. If you speak against it, I will recite you a lecture on tolerance and tell you that if you don't like it, you have to deal with it and Grow up. - Howz that?? I guess that should be pretty acceptable to you, since that is exactly what you are preaching up here. How come u make mockery of Hinduism n want em 2 b tolerant??!?

  • @Chhenu Well, I'm a woman, so it's "dudette." If you wanted to make that movie it would probably have to be animated, like this movie. You could probably find an actress willing to do it, but can you legally get a dog to consent? OK, so you make this movie. I think it's in bad taste. I won't like it. But I won't tell you that you can't, or tell others you should be killed. I would ask YouTube to take it down if I found it here, because, after all, it would be porn. Put it up on YouPorn.

  • may be nina or the other supporter had grown up in such conditions where they don't have sense of purity, divinity, culture and humanity. showing such vulgarity may bring happiness to r ego, but not to every one. this is true irrespective of u r religion and region. depicting one of the oldest culture in such a manner and comparing with other religious is not suggestive. attempt was good but it clearly tells creator lacks proper understanding on the culture. cartoonist is worst of all.

  • @guruvikramsagar You mean like The Book of Mormon, which just swept the Tonys, or Godspell, in which Mary Magdalene is sometimes portrayed as a transvestite? Or anything in South Park having to do with religion? (I mean seriously, depicting Moses as a spinning top?)

Honestly, you're starting to sound like the fundi-Muslims. Look, either your religion is worth something, and the mere works of humans cannot damage it, or it's weak and ineffectual and runs scared from mockery. Your choice.

  • This is a rude and offensive version of a holy and divine play... how would you like it if some-one made the bibal or another religious text look like a perverted and terrible story???? Just because one indian guy was bad to you it does not mean that the whole basis of all indians out tthere is bad... Get a life Nina
