  • lie there will be with new characters

  • yes there will

  • I feel bad for you guys. Even though it is confirmed there will be a release, my local arcade ( in NYC) has SSFIV for 360 hooked up to an arcade machine that lets you use the JPN fight sticks or 360 controller.

Maaaad fun. You guys gotta wait till Oct. 20th :D

  • @TheRagalshnagalable

I have a 360 hooked up to my own candy cab in my house... I don't feel bad for me :)

  • @teeeight I think that's what the guy in the arcade has.

  • well i gues they know how people feel about the arcade version ofstreetfighter 4 thats why their not making a arcade update, and since you can already play arcade with sf4 even if they make a super sf4 for pc without arcade, im ok with it since the online play with sf4 was really lousy. going to be interesting to seehow they manage it!

pc please i can forgive arcade since it doesn't really mean shit anyway i mean it is not like their going to mail you a trophy lol!

  • terrific game. its so smooth, you cant fault it i test loads of games b4 they come out because im a member of BetaTestGamers - check them out on google all they ask u 2 do is right a short review of the game

  • japanese people are going to be so pissed that there's no arcade version, daigo's probably shitting in his pants right now

  • They better make a PC version, there is a big PC market out there.

  • games on pc's suck easily hacked no matter what security.

  • I just laught at the ppl who like to complain about some moves or characters because they suck so much to figure out how to get around it that they keep getting hit/beaten by them. Best part is that they think everything has to be *balanced* when it already is, what those scrubs really want is Sakura (a 5'2" school girl) to hit as Hard as Sagat (a 7'4" Muay-Thai Kick Boxer Boss Character) and recieve the same damage as well. This is the kind of nonsense that can screw a good game up.

  • @OkaGantZ well said

  • @5:12 Ono looks like a very nice person. Im glad his game is doing well. Think i will pick up the next one.

  • Ono is a fucking douche that ruined a perfectly good genre. Fuck him and I hope he burns in hell for being such a half assed designer.

  • Definitly WANT an arcade version. A PC port would be nice as well. No arcade, no buy.

  • we want kairi we want kairi we want kairi

  • No pc version!!!!?

  • damm dude that sucks man...no PC version :( ....why would they want to do that to us? ...

  • Methinks they're being coy. It sold well on pc, and it would be foolish not to have a pc port.

  • i know man...this sucks... guess they dont want our money..lol

  • PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think ultras are the easiest and most important aspect of game balancing. I hope they start right there and decide to weaken the strong ones or strengthen the weak ones.

I was alarmed when Ono spoke of frame data as some anomaly that was not fully contemplated in game design. I hope that changes this time around. Damage is fairly moot at high levels, being able to land attacks because of superior frame data is the largest factor. I hope they do better, but still, good job so far Capcom

  • ultras are not even close to the most important aspect of balancing in this game... But even if they were, how strong/weak they are is much less important than how easy they are to consistently land or how many options the character has to combo into it etc. For example, they could have made Guile's ultra way stronger and he'd probably be in the exact same place in the tier list, cuz it's not easy to land and only has a few not too varied ways to combo into it.

  • You're joking, right? The reason why Daigo wins half of his matches is cause he gets lucky enough to have an Ultra that saves him and takes half of his opponent's health. The game is a fucking joke anyway, so I'm not sure why I'm discussing this. Also, I hope Yoshinori Ono burns in hell for ruining a good series.

  • @Siberianhusky89

lol, If you believe that then how do you explain his dominance in games other than SF4? Or beasting with guile in SSF4 without having 10 different ways to combo into ultra (part of the point I was making above). He wins cuz he is great at reading people, has loads of experience, and has just put in the time over the years grinding it out- mixed with just having natural tallent. To say he wins solely due to ultra abuse is a joke when you look at his overall record in FGs...

  • Guile was buffed quite a bit in Super : P Besides, in SF4, 90% of his wins are from an Ultra. I'd say that's pretty lucky. He gets his ass whooped if someone rushes him down or attacks him. I'm not saying it's completely Ultra, but give me a break if you think it's because he's a great mind reader. Personally, I think he WAS good, now he doesn't NEED to be good cause he knows his character is really good. Street Fighter 4 wasn't that balanced in the first place. Also, Guile is A tier in SSF4 : P

  • @Siberianhusky89

Guile was buffed, but that wasn't your point, ultras was. Your logic really makes no sense though- even if you believe in luck- you're saying daigo is the only guy out there who is just CONSISTENLY lucky? lol. SF4 was pretty damn balanced compared to a lot of other FGs out there (and nobody has said guile is A tier yet...) Daigo has faced a ton of people who tried to rush him down and come out successful, I don't know what you're smoking, haha.

  • Ultras were nerfed in Super SF4. Also, you're kidding me, right? Being balanced doesn't deal with just DAMAGE. Sure, MvC2 is broken, but it's SUPER ULTRA broken, Street Fighter 4 is just an unbalanced piece of shit that gets it's attention for being Street Fighter. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, it's been written by the Japanese he's A tier and top : P So you're wrong about that. Also, Daigo picks up Guile... So, why didn't he use Guile in ORIGINAL SF4! Cause he wasn't as good as Ryu.

  • @Siberianhusky89

Uum... interesting thing about that, Daigo used guile BEFORE any tier list was written (although last tier list I saw I thought guile was b, but ok, lets say A). Interesting how when daigo picks up a character he climbs up the tier list. The japanese said the same thing about ryu, nobody thought he was that interesting at first until they saw what daigo was figuring out with him.

  • When the list was posted is irrelevant. You can still tell a character is good through playing them. It's not like he goes like "Oh, I'm gonna look at a tier and choose the top tier character." In Street Fighter 4, most people chose Sagat, Ryu, and Balrog cause they were the more OBVIOUS better characters in the game. To say "nobody though he was interesting" for Ryu is a JOKE, He was one of the ONLY characters anyone played.

  • @Siberianhusky89

It looks like you are moving more toward my original argument though...balance isn't just about damage? EXACTLY. What I originally said is it wasn't just about ultras, and even then- it wouldn't be just about ultra /damage/- but also about how many options you have to combo into them (which IS one of the things that made ryu good, yes) so I'm not sure what your argument was supposed to be there with daigo getting lucky etc. yes, SF IS popular because it is SF, that's a given

  • @Siberianhusky89

The only time you really see him lose is to other TOP players with similar skills. At that level of play it is absolutely a game of being able to read your opponent, knowing all of your options, and having good reactions- not ultras. If what you are saying is true, top placing players would not be consistent at all, you'd just have a bunch of random Ryu's or Sagats that got lucky that day... check the track record of tourney results- that has not been the case...

  • It's not WORTH using Abel. He's not STRONG, he just has a strong grab and slightly longer damage that costs a shitload to do compared to Ryu. If you do 2 combos with Ryu, you do a long Abel combo .The only difference? Ryu's doesn't hit confirm like Abel, but you still have to feed a cost to do it. This game is a joke and a disgrace to fighting games. There were many fighting games that came out between the span of 3 and 4 that were better than this. But THIS gets it's dick sucked?

  • @Siberianhusky89

well now you're getting into a totally different argument. sf4's popularity vs quality is something a lot of people argue, and many feel the way you do. Personally I think while it definitely has tiers like every other game it's not as unbalanced as say MvC2. A guy like combofiend runs through random ryu's with abel all day, same with arturo using dhalsim (he even beat daigo's ryu in mm)- but yes in general it takes more work to win with them than ryu, I agree with that.

  • Yeah, and the problem is, it's not even worth it. You know? I mean, why should I waste my time putting forth all this work to do combos and dish out some alright damage, when Ryu can do the same but much easier and with a less possibility of being punished? I'm not going to say Super is bad, I haven't tried it, but what is there to qualify for the game's quality? Almost everything else was crap (music, inputs and all) and it's unbalanced while being really, really basic? Where was the work?

  • @Siberianhusky89

Well if you value really technical fighters where players have more options, i'm guessing 3s is the game for you- and I'd agree. SF4 is more robotic and basic, but idk, It's still fun for me at least. And for super theres still a lot to figure out, so I think that will be interesting for now. There are a lot of players out there that get props for using mid tier characters and doing well against top tiers (and tier whores like you're talking about, haha).

  • I like Seth. I don't think he was too much of a mistake. He's an extreme version of Akuma and Dhalsim in many ways. A very, very fragile defensive character. I do agree that he's probably a little too imbalanced against slow brawlers like Gief and Honda, but it's hard to keep the matchups fair and keep characters unique.

  • "...Seth, the final boss that everyone loves to hate."

This sounds like Ono is saying " yeah, we kinda fucked up with him." It's pretty refreshing to hear a developer say that so soon after their product is released.

  • their gonna make him tougher lol

  • The only reason no arcade doesnt bother me is cause here in diego we had no Arcades that had it anyways sooo yeah

  • i dont really care if no arcade

  • no arcade version couldnt they just set up a tv and ps3 or xbox and have it lock like in gamestop =D

  • I think capcom just shot themselves in the foot by not having an arcade release.

  • some countries can't afford a PS3 or Xbox 360.

  • no they didnt

  • Do you ever play at arcades?

  • Alot of people do

  • C'MON THERE'S GOTTA BE AN ARCADE VERISON! OR ELSE WHAT ABOUT ARCADE TOURNAMENTS??... arcade tournamnets ares till preferable than consoles in my opinion. this has got to be an indefinite decision on the part of capcom. it's almost unbelievable that ssfiv has no arcade version!

  • FAKK!

  • I love how he found it odd people were talking aobut the follow up.

Look at your history dudes XD

  • I suggest Capcom to add a Tag battle mode in it.

  • No.

  • I predict arcade owners will be doing what a lot of home fans have been for a while, in making an arcade cab that runs on a console, or at least until CAPCOM decides that a legit arcade release would be profitable. When you think about it, that's ultimately a cheaper way to do it and make a quicker turnaround on an investment. I saw that kind of set up once @ a local flea market, and it's something I would love to become more wide spread, if only to keep costs down

  • No Arcade Version? That sucks. Our entire community is based on the arcade scene. Nothing's better! Oh Well!

  • It'll be great if they get rid of that auto turn around nonsense and tweak Gief & Sagat.

  • They better fix that fucking lariat anyway

  • Arcade version?

Maybe in the near future, please?

  • I hope Capcom add the bonus stages in this version.

  • If Sakura doesn't get MAD buffs in SSF4 I'm going to main Juri!

  • Thunder Hawk is bad ass! I really like the screenshot that's been released of him looking happy with his bird. I wonder if some Dolls will show up due to his storyline?

As for arcade release...really, almost no one cares. The Internets is where it's at. Obviously, the prevalence of online gaming meant certain amusements like arcade machines would be significantly less profitable over time unless offering some experience that can't be had another way, but fighting games are great online.

  • The only way you could say this is if you have never played SF4 online over XBL and PSN.

Lag is horrible, even if it's minimal lag, because people play off one-frame links.

  • rofl..whining about single frames will really bring back the arcade scene. Lag actually affects both competitors equally, but most people are more interested in using it as a excuse for losing than in understanding the technical reality of it

I play online and enjoy it, like millions of others. It's where the scene is now, so deal with it.

  • I like how you accept an inferior scene so quickly.

Someone doesn't appreciate high quality games.

  • Trying playing Guile in a laggy match versus a total scrub of a Ken

Can't link my combos, can't execute charge moves properly, and my down fierce reaction time is cut in half.

Some characters are affected more than others - Guile is definitely exemplary of that.

  • I haven't had much trouble with charge moves, myself, but lots of fans seem to hope for improvements to Guile in SSFIV.

As for "accepting an inferior scene," if you think whining on YouTube will recreate an arcade scene from 10-15 years ago, by all means, continue. I choose to play the games online rather than have them cease to be. FPS players embraced this sort of thing; no one listens to the few who constantly blame lag for their failures.

But good news today: arcade release possible! :)

  • charge moves are so slow on sf4

  • I hate T-Hawk.

  • No PC version mentioned??? :-\

  • thawk was never a fan fav. Ever.

  • Also sorry for semi spamming this video but I think since he was at evo hes been trying to sabotage Japan so that America will win.

    HYPE SON

  • poor daigo....no arcades....

  • no pc also? dang.

  • although it's a MAJOR FUCKING DISAPOINTMENT THAT THERE WILL BE NO ARCADE RELEASE

  • Comment removed

  • There wasn't even an official U.S. release for the arcade version of SFIV. So why cry now? I mean I do go to my local arcade (Jamese Games, California) all the time. And there are a lot of competitions there, but honestly, the mass market could care less.

  • No arcade release?

    Noooooooooo!

(They better hurry up the console version in that case.)

  • lol, seth, the final boss that everyone loves to hate.

  • good stuff! HoB ftw! :D

  • awesome

  • Omg please say hes been listening to the fans pleads for Karin!!!

  • Karin sucks

  • damn no arcade release thats gay was hoping to play this early at the arcade

  • all i want is a change of the menu music - , -

  • balanced? two words, zangief's ultra

  • Seen T-hawks ultra?

Search T-Hawk Juri on youtube you'll see a quick play session where they both do ultras. Look at the damage.

  • ya, i saw it and I'm not happy. im getting ready for zangief meets cammy meets balrog.... not good times. he better have no health for some reason

  • from the looks of it t hawk has no srk to ultra type move, so there you go. he's gonna be just as scrubby as he was in sf2. stop crying

  • "cammy meets balrog" so you're trying to say Cammy's unbalanced, you really must be on crack, the game isn't broken, when something ain't broken don't fix it.... except, nahhh sagats fine

  • im not saying cammy's high tier but her cannon strike with balrogs headbutt and giefs grabs is gonna be gross.

  • Zangief isn't top tier, he has a lot of disvantages and not so good matchups, so that's why he does all that damage, it's the way the game is balanced

  • Zangief is damn high tier. He has lots of beast matchups. Against abel, against C.Viper, against Rufus. The rest is even or against Sagod. I try to make make Zangief players feel as frustrated as possible to make up for his FUCKING LARIAT! GRRR!

  • Learn how to play SIM. Gief players will hate you.

  • <3 Sim. If only I was better with him.

  • it takes a bit to get used to his slowness and how to poke with him. but in the right hands he is a monster. (IYO is japanese champion right now and he mains SIM)

  • Zangief has a lot of trouble against good Claws, Seths and Akumas.

  • YOUR right about good seths and akumas but all u have 2 do with vega is keep trading.

  • thats why everybody loses to him

  • Nah Bro Zangief gets in that ass. His move set allows him to do that. T-Hawks isn't made for hitting that ultra. Plus Juri probably has low health. T-Hawk wasn't high tier with his beefed ass ultra in super turbo so I don't think it'll change now.

  • good stuff
