"Network" is a masterpiece. If this type of film were made today, it would be independently made with VERY LIMITED release across the country. After that happened, we were able to end slavery, women wanted more rights and to be treated as equals, we gave them that right and the women's suffrage and feminist movement granted them with rights. Child labor and workers were dying in business and factories and got crappy pay for it, with hard work and fighting workers got higher pay for the work they did and had safer working conditions little children weren't abused in labor workshops.
@geoguy91 What I believe in is acting and helping my community: volunteering my time, opening a business so I can boost local economy, taking care of my physical and intellectual well-being so I can pass on my knowledge to others. As long as I have the freedom to do so, I am happy with the democracy we have.
And then the civil rights movement came into appearance because minorities mostly blacks were still treated horrible and struggled to get an education, jobs, schools, etc etc. With hard work protests and true commitment. Two Civil Rights Bills were passed in the 60s and then one in the 90s.

"Network" is a masterpiece. If this type of film were made today, it would be independently made with VERY LIMITED release across the country. I like films like this, but unfortunately, most mainstream movie goers go for the comedy, action, or horror films. Those other genres are okay, but the goal of most movies is to provide some type of escape. Most movie goers want to be entertained, rather than entertained and informed at the same time.

This movie, although gives a deep insight into the way things are, is a bit schizophrenic. It is not going to do good for anyone to be bitter about world, corporations, governments, etc. This is a self-destructive behavior.

@Coffeevaccine it's not about being bitter. It's about waking up and realizing that things need to change. It's about going to your friends and family and telling them about the truths you just heard. If you have to, go to your fucking window and yell, "THERE IS NO AMERICA. THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY." that's the line people should've taken with them.

If this notion of change is vague, then it is useless, not capable of solving social problems. Many people in power have been manipulating it for ages, riding on the idealism and naivete of others.

Our founding fathers and our nation used to be ruled under a theocratic monarchy, we were controlled by a county that is not even on our land and soil. The same ignorant people back then who said, what on earth can we do and what needs to be changed, fighting and yelling won't help, well, the founders fought and then we had the American revolution and we became free.

After that happened, we were able to end slavery, women wanted more rights and to be treated as equals, we gave them that right and the women's suffrage and feminist movement granted them with rights. Child labor and workers were dying in business and factories and got crappy pay for it, with hard work and fighting workers got higher pay for the work they did and had safer working conditions little children weren't abused in labor workshops.

@geoguy91 What I believe in is acting and helping my community: volunteering my time, opening a business so I can boost local economy, taking care of my physical and intellectual well-being so I can pass on my knowledge to others. As long as I have the freedom to do so, I am happy with the democracy we have.

And then the civil rights movement came into appearance because minorities mostly blacks were still treated horrible and struggled to get an education, jobs, schools, etc etc. With hard work protests and true commitment. Two Civil Rights Bills were passed in the 60s and then one in the 90s.
Now LGBT movement is hoping to get the respect they deserve.However we are slowing going down a path with corporate and religious theocratic ruling and dominance there is no middle class

This movie is more true today than ever. Did you know that Halliburton, who was the company responsible for cementing the drill in place for the Deepwater Horizon, purchased a company that cleans up oil spills just before the spill? Just do a Google search for Halliburton buying Boots & Coots and you'll see what I'm talking about.
