  • "Performers will pay Pharrell and other beat masters up to 2 millions dollars for a hot track"

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE CHRIS CONNELLY! No producer gets that much for 1 single beat! $2 million is already a budget for a whole album for a big time artist, but for 1 beat? No, that's a lie!

Even Just Blazed has stressed that the most an artist alone would pay for a beat would be around $100,000 and that top producers like The Neptunes and a few others, but $2 million? I know that's not true.

  • @gp5 Timbaland and Dr. Dre are definitely gettin about 2 mill for a beat are u kidding? Including rodney jerkins

  • yo you should make an autobiography about your life yo before i seen this video i felt your beats and production skill you were top all pro to me but i didnt think you had this side to you that i could somewhat relate to so i liked you as a producer but didnt respect you really this video changed that man cuz u really do have this side and do care big up to ya man real talk keep making these hits .

  • i love pharrell and nerd all day every day he and them are the shit neptunes are the shit

  • lol rappers always get a hair cut when there gettinng interviewed

  • American Ghetto, what a joke. Compared to places like Africa and South America the ghetto in America is like Beverly hills.

  • lmao I love P he's funny though he brought a phantom back to his projects

  • I love Pharrell. He's so hot & cute & beautiful . :)

  • Where is this nigga getting his haircut? In the back of Walmart lol?

  • MR. SHARPS!!!!

  • @JohnsonJagBand Mr Sharps was my band director (4:22) !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :D

  • @rockerguy865 did u ever ask him about Pharrell???

  • @CoolCollision We don't have to, Mr. Sharps is always talking about him (slight exaggeration)!

They do still seem to keep in touch and in fact he went up to Austin a while back to one of Pharrell's concerts and brought back a picture with the two of them together! It's all pretty legit.

  • He produced rump shaker -- waooo

  • Okay, I was thinking this interview was going to be really old. It's like from what ... 2006? Everyone knew who Pharrell was by then.

  • "ITS TIME TO GO" haha

  • I understand everybody else's point too. As long as he gives back to his community, that's appreciated. But I think the bently was a little too much! Lol

  • I feel you @Uganda, without the whole cussing thing!! Lol

  • hes sexy as fuckk

  • Pharrell makes me proud to be from VA!

  • "I Warholed it."

  • yo Pharrell is so damn weird just like me yo!

    haha

    -Ankelz

  • I love him

  • i jus wud bit my toung about if i neva moved i wuda been dead in jail or on drugs,,did see the look on dat ladys face she dident even wana anser dats lik say yor kids aint neva gonna be syt cuz u traped

  • damn so inspiring.....

  • he made it out of the hood, he's nt trying to rub his success n anyones face, he;s just letttin them know if he could make it, so can they.

  • driving around in a roce royce bentley does not enstate humbleness. he should have visited his old neighborhood in a less flashy car. hypocrite and predictable rapper attitude. over the top way of saying i made it bitch now i feel sorry for all of you all but i am happy not living among any of you.

  • I understand what you are saying to a degree you know rolling up in a car that could pay those peoples rent for ages.

How ever Pharrell seems like a real nice down to earth guy.

He worked very hard to get to were he is now and I think those kids seeing and believing-if they want it bad enough they can have everything and more.

That neighborhood is were Pharrell came from what a journey.

  • and im sure that if u had the cake....you would come in something less flashy...like a geo metro

  • you crazy man Lol

  • wtf. of course we know his name! & NO hes not an unfamiliar face.....dey trippin. hes a top of the line artist.

  • we may not know his name?

He's one of the few producers who's name we do know.

  • damn never knew he made all those hits..

  • ahhhhhh he is sooo hot haha

  • Of course we know his name, but they may not know Chads name.

  • is dat ur bedroom with da stars!! time 2 go!!!LOL!!!

  • "a hot track that will get speakers bumpin'"

  • i love him

  • 0:02 You may not KNOW HIS NAME?!??? Fuck outta here he's been going hard for almost a DECADE!!!!

  • YesSIR!!!

  • We all know his name yes but the other 300 million people in America that don't listen to radio or do and don't care who produced the music which is most people, they don't know his name. Name a producer in the country music industry. You can't because you don't care and I don't blame you. I like Pharrell but who gives a shit really? Also, it's two decades.

  • @thaillistproducer for WELL OVER a decade they started in 1992...name was actually on production credits in 1995 with SWV for the song "Use Your Heart." after that the 1st big hit they had was Mase's "Lookin' At Me" in 1997. Then the huge hit was Noreaga's "Superthug." in 1998. This was the song that made them ULTRA hot in the game.

  • @thaillistproducer Man if i could give you 30 thumbs up I would!!!! This nigga only been in the game since 92 but we may not know his name????? hahaha

  • @thaillistproducer I felt some type a way about that too o_0

  • He seem like he cool.

  • I Love Pharrell!

He Is So Humble And Cool!

  • Pharrell is the most humble dude i ever met

  • u met pharrell ? damnn...:0

  • I think a rolls royce isnt the most humlbe of cars. I love him but did he really have to pull up into the pjs with that car?

  • yea he did cuz he worked hard to make it to where he is and to be able to afford what he has. he pulled up in a rolls and got out and kicked it wit ppl. those kids can look at that rolls as inspiration to get one sumday.

  • damn you are so right, what the fuck would pullin up in a ghetto mobile 92' Saturn with a dented bumper prove

  • ya nigga, wtf???? boy forgot

  • idk man... it goes both ways..lol.. the Rolls was alot .. maybe a regular limo or something.. but idk i see it both ways.. shit i would stunt on these fools out here...lol

  • wow i've never seeen this, very cool.

i love how he talked about seeing sounds, even back in 06, and now its the new record !

  • idd you hear that cracka say "beat's that gets speakers bumpin" lmFao

  • LOL I'm hecka weak!

  • i had no idea that he did rump shaker

  • How do they not mention N.E.R.D? He's had two successful albums already before his solo.

  • Damn thats a pretty impressive Resume Pharrel has.

  • for me monday is red, tuesday is blue , wednesday is brown , thursday is green , friday is yellow saturday is blue and sunday is black , is it normal??

  • Time to take your meds.

  • I think it was Mozart or some other classical dude that was blind and was able to see sounds when he heard em'. I guezz people who see sounds are good musicians.

  • What the fuck? He was deaf, dumbass.

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll

  • dumbass, it was Ludwig van Beethoven who was deaf!!

  • thinking before you speak is very important isnt it?

  • haha

"did you put those stars up in the bedroom?"

    ".....time to go"

  • its called synesthesia...i have it as well just there are different degrees of it some have stronger cases of it...for an example some people smell things when they hear certain sounds...in my case i see colors in patterns in my head when i hear certain instruments. i have a mild case but its def still there. I also have it with days of the week. monday is blue tuesday grey wednesday is a redish bergundy thursday is black friday is red saturday is yellow and sunday is light blue

  • I'm the same way

  • 4;33...that explains "seeing sounds"

  • youtube . com / watch?v=DvwTSEwVBfc

  • wow... interesting stuff thanks 4 the link

  • mhmm, I have hints of that where I can get a better grasp of drums and what not.

  • yup first thing i thought too

  • now we see how hard he had it thx pharrell love ya

  • he didn't produce it he wrote teddy riley's rap for it when he was in high school.

  • pharrell is one of the few who can both rap and sing very well. lauryn hill also, but pharrell isn't racist

  • 49% of the sonqs played on the radio are produced by the neptunes alone. i personally think thats pretty fressh with all the producers out there they take over basically half the qame

  • reall nice

  • Kanye and Pharrell best rap, r&B and pop producers out there

  • I Luv nothing better than to watch and hear Pharrell! I am in awe of this man! so talented, so smart SEXY and humble he is the ultimate persona of a true man

  • kanye and pharrel are som of the best ;)

  • i think a few individuals are confused.lol humility and modesty are so desired by fans of artists that it is sickenin. P is a successful man regardless of his upbringin. he worked hard to get where he is at, if we all did the same there would be no haters

  • yo i had no idea pharrell produced the "rump shaker"

  • he didnt...rick rubin did

  • the video said he did at 4:45..

  • lol yea i noticed...cuz i think theres another song called rumo shaker by the beastie boys

  • i luv pharrell hes the best and i would luv 2 meet hym

  • rap is something u do u idiot. ignorant people always hate hip hop

  • i see he had to tuck the chain

  • Sk8 Board P is the MAn

  • and that my friend i can agree with...true lyricist are being overlooked because they aren't singing and rhyming and apparently that it what is in. when u have five words in a bar...that's not rapping/rhyming....the beats are amazing now-a-days tho imust admit....ight man -B.

  • he's referring to the beat not the lyrics...

  • I just love em....

  • He deserves to show off, Coming from the projects! All people who can roll in a rolls from zero to millions deserve to. Because if that was me i know i would to!

  • laffy taffy chain tucked in....you know we're in the hood

  • haha, look at 3:14 , "i would uh...prolly end up dead or in jail......**looks at the person to his side**..RIGHT???...."

  • why is that funny?

  • Thanks for the post! Cool interview

  • My dad is black and american my mother white and german...im white at the outside but inside im black xD you know what i mean? i mean i grew up with black music and uhm im like a black one you know...AND i even got a big nose and curly hair xD so...I LOVE BLACK MUSIC even when im white girl ^^

  • Pharrell didnt actually produce rump shaker, He just wrote Teddy's verse..

  • wrong, check the album credits produced by neptunes

  • I have an interveiw with pharrell himself saying he only wrote teddy's verse..I will post the interview soon once i figure out how the fuck to get recorded tv onto pc.

  • pharrell is da shit yo

  • chain tucked in...smart move

  • very smart move..lmao

  • um im pretty sure it doesn't matter how you make money,as long as your not kill people cause like look at pharmacutical company's they involve extencive human and animal testing sell the medicine for like 20 bucks a pill and it cost them 80cents to make so dont hate just appreciate.

  • Thank you, I totally agree with you, I dont understand why people are so negative when it comes to people making it big when they came from nothing. The drug companies should be stopped but they fund the FDA so you know that wont happen!!!!!

  • To khadrigr:

Pharrell is the best, but Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupree, Mannie Fresh, Diddy have been around longer than Pharrell. Pharrell even learned some stuff from Timbaland when they were in the group Surrounded By Idiots. I think he'll be the best for a long time too.

  • He has been in the game since the age of 17 he was working with Blackstreet

  • Out of all the producers/ beatmakers out there, this man has been around the longest ever. Do you know why? Its because he remains humble and never forgot where he came from. I'm an atheist, so I won't say its god. Notice that when he speaks of his work, he never said he made an artist famous. He realizes and respects the artists talent. He only speaks of his portion of the work. He is the best, hate it or love it.

  • Fine, talented, and HUMBLE. Giving back to his community. Mad crossover appeal. And he doesnt cuss women and call us hoes or bitches (does he??)

    I love this dude forEVER!!

  • Humble? Maybe on camera but everything he does is for money and he's one of the richest producers out there, hundreds of millions, and he takes in every possible luxury in his social life, lol you see some little photo-op dateline segment where he lifts a small child and think he lives in a one bedroom apartment leaking all his cash for humanitarian efforts. wake up.

  • he is humble. I dont see how being a multi-millionaire precludes him from being humble about his achievements - he doesnt do music and videos bragging and flashing his cash about like his musical counterparts..he doesnt wear ostentacious clothing and loads of bling. he's humble about his status. In my opinion anyway.

  • "he doesnt do music and videos bragging and flashing his cash about like his musical counterparts"--He lays behind a mountain of money in " Moneymaker" with Ludacris and in virtually every video wears gigantic diamond necklaces and designer three piece suits and showcases expensive high end vehicles, not to mention his little gold blackberry phone. Exactly how do you define ostentatious and are you sure youve ever seen a video with him?

  • And you should look at his clothing line if you want to see pretentiousness, hoodie sweatshirts selling for 500+ dollars or "bling" for thousands upon thousands of dollars--talk about your humble community leader. Don't be a sheep and have more value for yourself than to accept someone so rich and self-gratifying as a "humble" opportunist who uses his money for the good of manking lol.

  • mankind*

  • Listen you have to understand for a lot of these rappers producers they grew up with nothing, and look at them now. I think its wrong that many flash cash and throw it in our faces, but Pharell is different, so what if he makes a great clothing line that may cost a lot of money, again he came from nothing remember this, he is a great business man!!!!

  • He's not different. If you want to like him as a buisness man that's fine but HE does ''flash'' cash and use the same low methods as anyone else, only his music is more polished and 'refined' for the purposes but thats it. I'm reaching my opinion in the end anymore than to just say he's not "real" and everything he does is for money.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I am a lifetime fan of Pharrell, N*E*R*D & The Neptunes.

  • pharrell tokk nightline with him to the back of his clothing store where he was getting a hair cut. thats wild. you see all them adidas boxes from the commonwealth store. I give my props to him.

  • I Like how Pharrelll shined Light on the projects to raise community awarness. I think he told them that he would be dead, on drugs, or in jail because that opportunity was at hand...

  • dat nigga mad weird and at da same time is vicious wid da beats lmfao

  • hes perfect. aghhhh

  • looking at great artists like pharrell, talib, mos def, common, the roots, lupe fiasco, ludacris, nas, etc. you know, reminds me of why I want to rap, no doubt about it

  • Skate board P thats whats up. holla

  • one of the best people in all aspects i know of period

  • i luv u pharrell... call me lol
