4:57 Q: Some human rights groups in India and other places have labled what's going on (in Sri Lanka) they as a "genocide". Would you agree with that level of critic of the situation?
A: I think the terminology of 'Genocide" is unhelpful for the reason that what they are alleging is that the Sri Lankan govt is committing genocide against the Tamil people. As you aware, for the last few years, there is a high number of abductions, extra judicial killings and disappearances among the Tamil people
Abductions, extra judicial killings and disappearances were not only against Tamil minority but also against Sinhalese JVP in 1988-90

Sri Lanka is one of the highest record of abductions, extra judicial killings and disappearances against Tamil minority.
The Tigers are screaming for a cease-fire. Every ceasefire that occurred in the past 25 years was used as an opportunity to re-arm and re-fit, before the Tigers ended it with a new offensive. The Sri Lankan government can be forgiven for preferring surrender to a cease-fire. Wars are terrible things, and it is best that they be ended not be prolonged. The Sri Lankan Civil War, after over 70,000 dead and 25 years of ruin and expense, is finally coming to an end. Let it end.
We heard on a nightly basis about the events in Gaza earlier this year. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for what's been happening in Tamil areas of Sri Lanka. It's understandable that these terrible events rarely make the evening news: the Sri Lankan government bans the media and aid agencies. Yet 2,000 innocent people have lost their lives and hundreds of thousands more have lost their homes.
Only aid agency which is providing humanitarian assistance with much difficulty is operating in the war zone in Northern Sri Lanka International Red Cross (ICRC). In fact, the 3 million Tamils of the island constituted a self governing nation until invaded and occupied by Colonial powers. in particular Britain, who amalgamated them with the Sinhala nation purely for convenience. In retrospect, this cultural naivety was a mistake that has caused problems since independence, she said in a meeting held at Harrow, where Bruce Fein, a constitutional expert from the United States was the guest speaker.
A Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom, Dr. Rachel Joyce, apologised Sunday for the error of Colonial Britain in making a unitary Ceylon out of two nations, the Tamils and the Sinhalese. The Tamil people have lived on the island currently called Sri Lanka for millennia - in their own contiguous, distinct, geographical territory. They lay claim only to the territory they have historically lived in.

People like this are now come out of their hiding places, because they know LTTE is not going to survive the war. After LTTE is gone, people like this can be the new leaders of Tamil people. If you are against everybody in Sri Lanka, it is better to look for a homeland elsewhere. Otherwise, at least try to live in peace with others. Repeating LTTE ideologies will only bring misery to Tamil people once again.
Why she does not blame LTTE for anything serious? LTTE is responsible for most atrocities against Tamil people in Sri Lanka. May be she has to go back and re-read the history. During last 20+ years LTTE carried on genocidal acts against Sinhalese and Muslims living in North and East of the country. They did not anyone who spoke against them to live. People were chased away from their home in North and East and whoever lived later were killed by LTTE to create their Tamil Eelam Homeland.

LTTE is a terrorist group only one solution for terror; we need to justify the requirement of political solution for tamils not LTTE.
