@gmorales777 i'd probably have to say "Wait Until Tomorrow" by the John Mayer Trio. I'm working on it as we speak, I have most of it down there's just a few hairy spots I need to iron out. I hope to have a video of it on youtube soon.
Thanks for the reply. I'm a beginner at drumming, and I've watched your video several times. Lag is making it difficult to see what is happening. I do envy those who can play by ear. Your drumming is great. I enjoyed it. :)
Yea no problem. Playing by ear isn't necessarily something I've just acquired out of the blue.
If you want to learn how to play a song or learn to play by ear don't be afraid to just listen to the song and play it. I mean who's going to hear you? Sure you'll mess up but keep pluggin along and you'll eventually get it.
This song is pretty basic. It's probably the first song I learned to play. Listen to it over and over and play to it, that's my advice :) good luck and keep drummin!
Thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement. I am definitely persistent, so I am sure I'll get it eventually. I will just have to take your advice. :)
Like what russ7153 said, just keep listening to the song over and over, and practice it on the drum set also. The great thing about drums is that once you recognize the sound of the drum being hit, it can easily be replicated. You hear the snare, and you know what to hit. Not like the guitar, which as hundreds of thousands of different notes.
Just learn how to pick up the different drums by ear. Its easier than you think. :)
Thanks for the advice. I am beginning to catch on to the sound of the different drums. I find myself listening to the drums in most of the songs I hear now, trying to figure them out.
Whats the most advanced song you can play. is it on youtube?

The Incubus song is coming along.
Thanks again to both of you.

Any chance you have sheet music for this, or at least tabs?
RavenMoonlyte 2 years ago
I don't use sheet music or tabs. I learned the song by listening to it a TON and learning the drum part by ear.
Pop the song on in your ears and just play to it. That's how I learn how to play anything.
