its kinda funny looking at people talking out there ass first of all cummins is its own companie its always been dodge uses contacts with cummins for the 2500 3500 4500... the first time dodge even used cummins was in the 60s in there big rigs and semis dodge also used detroit deisel in the big rigs and semis. once they quit producing big rigs and semis there was a gap where dodge wasent even connected with cummins until the late 80s with the full size pick up trucks. cummins is not dodge.
@throwingchamp611 i did something similar to this several years ago but instead of a cummins i used a 289ci out of a 65 mustang with stock 5 speed tranny and rear it was just for playing around on weekends so it didnt get a lot of severe duty as it wasnt used for towing except a 14 ft jon boat
Im pretty sure this is the same ranger that was in diesel power magazine. The mag said it had 1200hp and top speed was 135. Look how long the hood and fenders are he extended the body to fit the 5.9. I dont remember the 1/4 times but this truck is legit. Haters can hate but its hard to beat a clean custom job like this. Props man.

'Diesels' aren't meant for speed'. Better take a look around because power is power and Diesels can make it in spades. Diesels also inherently make power without sacrificing low end torque. So, Diesels are great for towing in that application but can be a very nasty adversary speed wise if set up properly. Don't believe me? ...look around.

@reneeandchrisforever Technically it's not impossible. Physics suggest that you can get any speed you want with the correct gear ratio. It's just highly unlikely that you'd do that, and if he has a stock transmission I doubt he even gets to 185, no matter the rpms.

@reneeandchrisforever Technically it's not impossible. Physics suggest that you can get any speed you want with the correct gear ratio. It's just highly unlikely that you'd do that, and if he has a stock transmission I doubt he even gets to 185, no matter the rpms.

Vid should have been 2-3 minutes long. 185 mph?? at 3400 rpm? Tell us about gearing in the trans and rearend. I have a 72 F250 with a 6BD1T...3.54 4 speed with Eaton over 31 inch tires 26-28 mpg at 65 mph 1900 rpm from SoCal To Denver. Lowest I ever saw was 16 towing 7K west through rockies. Wow.
