  • That sounds like shit dude. You have know idea what you are doing.

  • Yoh, excellent tone, sounds just like uncle Teds song, nice video. What hardware setup did you use.

  • Man I can say just sitting in on this video after watcing it twice i can play this smoothly and consistant. You have a gift my friend you sure can teach and play amazingly! thanks so much!

  • If you could teach just what the doctor ordered, I'd be very appreciative

  • can you figure out fred bear ? please i got part of it down but cant get it right this helped me on this song

  • hey this is great! a headless guitar teacher! good job!

  • he goes into a higher cord on the second go in the song

  • Nice job teaching. The only part you have wrong is playing the open D string when the chords go from the A to the C and then D. The open A string is supposed to be played through the lick. When sliding up to the C chord, and then to the D chord, the D string is covered by the index finger also, and the open A continues to be the bass note. So when sliding up to the C and D chord, the second, third AND fourth strings are pressed down, with the A string open.

  • Very good teaching style but didn't you add 3 notes not in the Double Live Gonzo version?

  • where do you live man ill pay you for personal lessons!!

  • @neverlookedback1 I get this question a lot. I live in Little Rock, Arkansas and i do teach guitar lessons in person. For those who can't take lessons in person I sell instructional DVD's from my website.

  • 19 people have failed!

    AWESOME VID MAN!!!THX!!

  • Youre missing the harmonic slide at the start

  • You have a flair for instructional style. Sign me up!

  • hamer on to the octave at the begining

  • Arguably the best instructor on Youtube - and gives his talent away for free....Keep this guy going and make a donation on his website. Thumbs up to keep this at the top.

  • @kb3earth Thanks for the good word buddy! Every little bit helps.

  • @kb3earth Thanks for the good word buddy. Every little bit helps.

  • @kb3earth hes good maybe but hes playing this song wrong lmao

  • The main ingredient is feel. You can't teach feel. Rock on mother truckers!

  • thank you garry. i think your method is great. keep up the good work. what is it with the nay sayers who have nothing better to do than insult or complain. obviously they are no good, if they were so awesome why would they be looking up how to videos. there are a lot of teachers some methods work for some people some dont. some are more advanced some not. i'm terrible but i try and your lessons are the perfect pace for me. thank you

  • way too fast

  • sound like crap!

  • that is the worst cover i have ever heard

  • this is awesome!!!

  • does anyone know where i can watch a video on how to learn to play the full song??????? i really need to know. the tabs on 911tabs.com were wayyyy wrong. pleasssssseeeeee help meee!, thank you very much!

  • Worst tone I have ever heard?

  • @Carthsgtr Not the point, this is a lesson, not a cover. Derp.

  • @Zubirrex

    Just stating the truth.

  • nice

  • WTF are you playing dick? That part didn't sound good 0:15 to 0:17

  • what year is your strat?

  • Thanks....that was great.

  • Great lesson, gives me something new to figure out, and it won't be as easy as you make out, lol But I'm up for it.

As of yet I have never seen anyone teach how to play 'Just what the doctor ordered', if you was to do that you may possible be the first one on youtube to teach it and I would love to learn that one. Thanks for posting this and thanks also for teaching something frome the 'Nuge.'

  • grah

    tha nuge.

  • that's a stagg right? i have such one ;)

  • Very nice lesson, but you are forgetting that Ted actually rolled up to play his second G in a higher position beyond the 12th fret. Nice Shoreline Gold reissue Strat though. I would like to see you show some SRV as it is obvious you have spent some time in Austin. Thank you for your lessons. Cliff Parks, Minnesota.

  • @TheDannyparks fuckoff KID!

  • Close, but not quite right. Good lesson otherwise.

  • this guy rocks

  • compleeeetleeey wronggg !! that pull off lick for example is a double pull-off lick

from 7th to 5th fret on the d and g string. this guy is playing an open d-string also.

there's no open d-string in the original lick at all !.. this lesson really sucks !

why do this people call themselves teacher and learn people licks the wrong way.

  • @tonnybrookhuis i have to agree . its close but not right ..

  • @tonnybrookhuis

This know it all (tonnybrookhuis) has exactly ZERO videos posted. How much you wanna bet he's a12 year old.

  • @tonnybrookhuis then why dont u post a video and teach us right

  • perfect lesson man keep it up

  • nice job man! Keep up the good work.

  • this is what im talking about guys like this playing the song and not playing the song in the background great job.to many people play the song in the background and they play it at the same time trying to sound like the cd.Most of the time its fake but this guy aint

  • not how he plays it but it sounds damn fine

  • Best teacher yet!

  • i got a guitar like you but mine is white and black

  • lol

  • great mini lesson.... how about the rest of this song for us with little time to learn the right way lol..... thanks much appreciated

  • damn rigth dude

  • I like you very much ! :)

    You're a real rocker !

  • dude you know this IS hard i have never played something like that you are rigth fav so i can easily find it and because its awesome

  • your teaching technique is clear and methodical which makes it easy to follow compared to most others i have seen. This is one song that im sure is a dream for most classic rock fans to be able to play. Would you possibly be able to post a how to for the whole song including the guitar solos? Thanks!

  • hey garry you suck

  • Awesome

  • beast

  • pretty good

  • what amp and settings r u using to get the sound bye the way very nice job sounds awesome

  • if you dont have anything good to say keep your commi ass shut hes doing a nice job

  • @coyote522 hes doin it all fuckin wrong i know the whole damn song ,this guy fuckin sucks and you idiots who dont know ur ass from a whole in the ground think hes awsome . Hes not !!!

  • @nugentfanatic1975

If you know the entire song, then post the instructional video and we will see. Do that rather than criticize someone for trying to help others play as Garry has done!

  • @nugentfanatic1975 haha its funny cause you talk hard now but if i saw you in the street i bet you'd shit a brick you little nobend...

  • @nugentfanatic1975 well im just starting to play and dont have to be rude so show me how to play it right then

  • Nice job!! I have played that intro slightly different for years but learned a few good tips to change the way I play it after watching your vid... I too play a strat and with the right amp settings& hot singal coils, you can get that same NUGE sounds as his Gibson Byrdland or pretty darn close. Rock on brother!!!

  • fail!

  • don't use a strat for nugent sounds...use a humbucker guitar

  • @vlmcross you can use a strat for nugent tone, just put a seymour duncan warm sounding humbucker in the bridge and neck, then itll sound sweeet

  • you're confirming what i said...: use a humbucker guitar...

  • dosent sound like ted nugent

  • fail!

  • this is definately one of the better teachers if you ask me

  • the second part is supose to be different from the first part :\

  • Great Deal on how to teach Guitar..Dude !

  • wow this is great explanation. very clear, super slow and regular speeds with great explanations on whats going on. thank you so much!!!!

  • He kinda even sounds like him. I SAID KINDA!

  • Very good, this is the easiest vid on the Nuges stuff, it would be nice idf someone could show me how to do 'Just what the Doctor Ordered.' I will be trying this anytime soon

  • how easy is paranoid gdzilla16?

  • Comment removed

  • @crscdn martyswartz is better. but this is still good :)

  • this video helped a lot, thanks

  • thanks alot. I like this song, and my dad is like a ted nugent junkie.

  • Thanks alot, this vid helped heaps!

  • Sounds good but that is not the correct way to play the intro.

  • You said, "Power chord position", exactly as I imagine George Bush might.

  • thank you for the lesson, it really helped me ;]

  • okay,I knew how to that just like that. What about the solo? The 2 solos that are the same

in between the lyrics sometimes u want to get higher, sometimes you want to start low.yeah
