  • Andy Bell is a genius.

  • que cancion pra mas hermoa, ride en mi corazon siempre

  • Looks like 2 people accidentally hit the dislike button. Everyone makes mistakes.

  • Wow they're great live. Especially Mark!

  • what a bad memory, i loved this band when i was 16..... utter shit!

  • /watch?v=vkEUp9N1tEI This show, full set!

  • Absolutely breathtaking. It's for things like this that I live my life

  • Andy was definitely one of the most skilled guitar players of the shoegaze bands. Not just strumming chords through pedals, but ripping out lead stuff...

  • when andy played bass in oasis... i went WTF??!! big time!

  • U2 wishes they sounded as huge as Ride.

  • i liked coldplay for a brief moment when i thought they were an off shoot of ride then i found out they are a rip off of RIDE. those sneaky bastards almost got away with it if it was'nt for that meddling internet. i will stare at my shoes until ride reunite and then, well, i guess i will continue to stare at my shoes but i'll be staring at my shoes at a ride concert.

  • way better than oasis. "nowhere" is their masterpiece but the following ride lps are great too.

  • I always get chills when lawrence opens up with the drums then everyone else comes in as the lights turn on all three of them so FUCKING EPICCCCCC

  • Far out...this is so bloody beautiful. What a fucking amazing band these guys were..

  • the beginning of "Yellow" (Coldplay) sounds also like "Sennen" !!!

  • I'm starting to think coldplay are just a mediocre covers band, I don't care what anyone says the whole tempo and structure of this song is identical to 'in my place' just watered down.

    Ride are awesome!

  • @emerson1978s i know men, i think the same... when i hear this and "lift" by radiohead

  • Familiar with Ride, less so w Coldplay, but did go listen to "in my place" to see what the fuss was about. Only the opening of the Coldplay song reminds me of "Dreams Burn Down". The opening, granted, sounds borderline identical. But the rest of the song sounds very different to me.

I like Coldplay too but personally I prefer the hazy swirly shoegazey goodness of Ride. This song (and Ride's entire "Today Forever" EP) are among my favorite shoegaze songs ever.

  • thanks for posting this. wish it had the entire ending.

  • this sounds SIMILAR but its not a complete ripoff.

  • yip!!!sure have!!!chris martins not half as original as he likes to think viva la vidas another big rip off

  • now that oasis has split, andy bell should reform ride!

  • @thv460 agreed

  • @thv460

    F^^K YEAH

  • in my place??? thnk coldplay owe these cats a few quid ;)

  • As much I love Coldplay, I agree with you...I definitely noticed the similarity when I heard the songs, lol.

  • i can't believe i never noticed that before! coldplay have taken something awesome and otherworldly, and utterly sterilised it :(

  • an absolute classic

  • So much better than the other "shoegazing" bands

  • no. mbv, chapterhouse, catherine wheel, slowdive, early verve, lush, boo radleys...they're all as good as ride.

  • Have to agree to disagree, none of those bands are as good as ride except for mbv, early verve. Wouldn't rate Catherine Wheel at all

  • well you're pretty much insane. Ferment and Chrome are two landmark albums and two of the best of the genre. Catherine Wheel might not have been darlings in the press but they had more depth than Ride IMO. and Rob Dickinson was a better vocalist.

  • Comment removed

  • excellent band,I was hugely into them when I was at school and still love them now..thanks for posting!

  • what a song.

  • God this song fucking kills.

  • this song tears me apart!!

  • true that, best Ride song ever. thanks to who ever uploaded this, brings back lots of memories. fuck would have loved to have been at this gig damn it

  • THIS IS EPIC

  • Ya, Please!

  • いいね

  • shoegazing is for me

  • such a great song...the drums and pounding bass.

  • ANDY BELL!!!!!

  • My favorite Ride song. Beautiful.

  • Has to be the best ever ride track

  • Fantastic LIve Shoegaze got my soul

  • Does a more brilliant song in this world exist???

  • God I love this song! <3

  • great!!

  • Ride was so brilliant... a short life line.... but a damn good one!!

  • My favorite song by Ride.Sooo good.

  • MBV might have sounded better on albums, but Ride was a lot better live.

  • can anyone post the chords of the song?

  • it's "I just want what I can't have until my dreams burn down and choke me every time"

  • thx!

  • can anyone tell me the exact lyrics of the line after"I just want I can't have, til my dreams burn down"? I can't find the line on the Internet

  • That line is so great...

  • Phenomenal. Thanks for this - the song is amazing - brings back the same feeling it did 15-odd years ago.

  • Loz was one of my first drum influences. the intro to this track had alot to do with me wanting to play.thanks for the post!

  • Loz always looked like someone had him in the jaw with a frying pan just before he came on stage.

    IMHO

  • i 'm with you he's great

  • I dont know, Im kindof glad that grunge went mainstream instead, everything the mainstream media touches turns to shit anyway...not much of a loss for grunge. ALthough conversely, I wish that these guys were still together, and of course Love Spirals Downward.

  • coldplay wernt out of skool ,ride piss over coldplay ect and opened the door for indie to go top 40s.,suede also !

  • this is so beautiful !!

  • tht begining sounds alot like in my place by coldplay

  • probably coldplay copied it, no way the other way around

  • yea

coldplay has like a reputation for copying people

  • Exactly, the fact that this song came out in 1990 sort of gives it away :) Chris Martin is a thief and he's owned up to nicking this one. He can't write songs without borrowing from superior bands!

  • Same thing my brother-in-law said when I was playing this in my car a while back. Only "Fall" was released in 1990.

At least Chris Martin has taste-- he could be ripping off Roxette.

    Master of the obvious.

  • Remind me why people were listening to grunge back in the early 90s again?

  • what about paralysed.me and my mate used to get stoned as a lord and whack that on . wow!our other mates weren't too happy, they would screem out for fucking carl cox!!!each to their own.

  • Fantastic atmospheric track... shoegaze at its absolute peak.

  • Fantastic! Ride was an awesome rock band.

Guitars on this track are so beautiful. Gorgeous!

  • beautiful

  • this is amazing!

  • Timeless Classic

  • Love this song the lyrics, singing and the noise guitar explosions.

I listen this period every day:Ride.

From the record:Nowhere.Check also the best of:Ox4.

  • I was at this show - I think Levitation, a House of Love side project, opened, if I'm correct (also saw sugarcubes that month and MBV with Jesus&Mary chain)

  • anybody who finds this page is a legend.....

    soaring!!!

  • I remember seeing these at the slough festival and at the Birmingham institute.... class band.

  • This song is incredible, but everytime they have the breakdown riffs, there blurred out by the special effects, I want to see them play that!

  • Just received a new copy of Going Blank Again this morning... forgot just how could this band were! Saw them in Poole in 1992 and prob just the best gig I have ever been too! Just wish they had got more recognition at the time!

  • A mess? It's fucking fantastic!!

  • agreed... it sounds just like the album cut just turned up to 11, i don't know what that guy is talking about...

  • Is that Andy singing?

  • No Andy is playing the strat on the left and harmony vocals. mark is singing the main lyrics

  • Dude, I love this song! The Peel Sessions version is the best by far!

  • legendary.

  • i went to see ride on this tour in aberdeen and its prob one of the best gigs i have been to.

they dont make bands like this anymore :-(

  • the best modern-rock

  • Ride have been my favourite band since 1990. They still are I had this video (live @ Brixton 92) stolen from me in 94 and haven't been able to find it since, so thank you so much for posting the vids up. This is the first time I've seen them in years!!

  • Ive seen mark live with goldrush and they did this bt this ersion is simply the best

  • you dont get British bands like this anymore, shame they never got the sucess they truely deserved. thanks for uploading.

  • magical. no doubt about it.

  • Wow, it would have been great to see this live. Thing is, I wasn't even 1 year old then.

  • FUCK YEAH! loz kills on this song.

  • Dude, am sixteen years old, I never got to see this growing up, and now am pissed. Andy Bell is awesome. I wish bands did shows like this still.

  • god i miss this! thanks for putting it up.

  • This track sounds better sober! But just why did you delete my previous comment? Never checked up on it, but I'm sure it was here.

  • Sie, I love you.
