  • Track Power

  • what program you used to do this project on your computer ?

  • @kobier77 Track Power

  • NIce track, good driving and good filming !

  • co to za program

  • where did u get it and how much was it

  • nice cleaning trick :p

  • @carrerajohn3 The track designer is called TrackPower. i just own one basic set (incl. Wireless), the rest are individual add-ons...

  • Which programme do you use? and how many sets do you have?

  • ...nice!

  • is there a website that u used to design the track like in the begging of ur vid

  • i like the wide curve but i dont like the one way switch I mean u can only switch to one lane they are not cross like scx

  • @trackspike64 There is also an x-switch in the track, however unidriectional switches can add additional need for tactics. And they were simply part of my first base set... ;-)

  • dude that looks unrealistic, to fast

  • @rockyroeba No video tricks involved here. This is the original speed at which we drive. Don't you own a Carrera? Otherwise you would know ;-)

  • @habitoti I own some Carrera cars as I got bit by a set back in 2004 and though I have some 4000 H.O. scale cars and 11 trophies, Carrera has become my number 1 brand. The track is unmatched by any other 1/32 brand. With the new Evolution of 2008 like this video,I am about 100% positive Carrera will attempt to invade aggressively the next new venture...........H.O. Scale They have the technology to do it before FLY does.

  • does the cars go in the pits all by them selves or do u have to make it ,,please explain how digital works

  • @trackspike64 When the lights start to blink, you need to enter the pit-lane (like changing lanes by pressing the button on the controller in time). When the lights stop blinking, you are "refueled". If you miss the pitstop for another round, the motor start to stutter and the car gets slower.

  • Did you copy Maxbenedeks Intro or did he copy yours?

  • @xSuperShadowxx That's easy to answer...just look at the production dates. Mine is from March 2008, Maxbenedeks from a year later...

  • whoa your like a professional slot car racer lol

  • Very very nice....

  • wie geht das auto Codieren klappt net DIE BLACKBOX HAT AUCH KEIN STROM WARUM

  • Could I have the link to the website you used to design it? Or is it software?

  • @wolevet97 You mean the track designer? It is called TrackPower (Windows software).

  • SUPER !

    Grüass von Elsass !

  • With how camera on the boatd please

  • @DevilxEdwin

It is an old Canon Ixus taped to a plain chassis taking 640x480 video (max 30 seconds possible with that one ;-)

  • @MrTRISTANCOOL

  • I love these things! Slot cars were so fun when I was young, great idea man for a guy get together one night.

  • you have put the kerds on rong places

  • net schlecht

  • where to download Program to create Track ?

  • the speed is a bit more realistic. at least they dont look like ants crawling around.

  • Simply fantastic! Great job.

  • cool 100.000

  • 7 cars - that's not bad!!

  • @SlotraceDK you can race with 8 maximum 6 drivers 2 ghosts says carrera

  • Are there actual people controlling the speed of each car or is it done by computer or both?

  • 4 actual people, the rest are ghosts. Please see further down the comments for another reply with a longer explanation on the "making of"...

  • it´s e cool video !

    blease look for me video

    have a nice day

    CSCpoelstal (jaky)

  • What do you mean with "It would be cooler if you actually steered them"?

  • It would be cooler if you actually steered them though. I like the on-car camera though.

  • Waht ist the name of the programm?

  • @Noobheeler: TrackPower

  • Thx

  • Comment removed

  • Nice vid m8! I'm gonna try the brush-on-car-with-elastics-band cleaning technique! xD

  • Looks great! Do you have 6 people to run the cars in the post or do you have them set to run automatically? I have the 124 set and can run 4 cars. Is it the same set up for the 6 132 cars or is somthing different. I might want to go to 6 132 cars. Thanks Ron

  • No, there were 4 people actually driving and the rest were ghost cars. Of course you won't get a neat film by just driving around like this. You need to setup the whole thing for each individual take again (considering previous order of cars etc.), and then need to do some clever cutting later on so that it looks like a seamless take of a continous race ;-)

  • VERY COOL!

  • starting around 0:19 how do u make ur own track please respond thanks

  • Using TrackPower software

  • oh thank you

  • One question about the pit stops.... how do you know how much "fuel" is each car carrying? Is there a digital display? Thanks...

  • not Digital. Rather On A Lit Up Sign Next To Your Hub.

  • The front lights start blinking when you run out of fuel. Then you have one or two more rounds to go before the motor starts to "stutter"...

  • awesome ill upgrade my evolution to digital...do u know if i can also upgrade the cars??????

  • Yes, there are upgrade kits available for a lot of Evolution cars. For most others that don't fit out of the box, you can make it also work with some additional effort.

  • TrackPower

  • 5* vid is echt geil gemacht voarllem die on board^^ echt geil!

  • that is so cool and when you cleaned the track with the car was so funny

  • what program are you useing to make the track on pleas tell me i need it really badly

  • TrackPower

  • what camera did you use for the POV?

  • It is an old Canon Ixos, taped on a naked chassis and doing short 640x480 takes.

  • so were you taking pictures or short films?

  • Short films...

  • Man, you guys have spent hoards of money on this track.

  • you know what would be really cool it to make the trake go up and down flips and rolls and stuff

  • 1:53, I simply LOVE how the 3 cars are backed up against eachother and the last one pulls out a mean & clean overtaking move :D Brilliant!

We can't buy slotcar sets anywhere near this high tech in nz either =(

  • Diese Carrera-Bahn Digital132 ist einfach nur der Hammer, ich hab sie auch. Nachteil Teile sind teuer :-(

  • AWESOME

  • TrackPower

  • Very nice

  • infact triple ovatake

  • nice starter/finisher

  • double overtake 1:53

  • wicked nice track! wat scale?

  • Carrera 1:32

  • AMAZING !!!!

  • did u like buy em somewere? coz like were did u buy em from???

  • cooles video

  • how many plug-in(controller's) are on the Black Box? 2 or 4 players?

  • 2, but I think (don't know, though) they can be extended by a multiplex box add-on for up to 4. Or you can extend them with max. 4 wireless controllers (as I use), yielding a total of 6.

  • nice but wat is the pit lane 4

  • It is not mandatory, but it can enhance gameplay significantly if you switch on virtual fuel usage. Whenever cars run out of fuel, their lights start blinking and after a while they get slower and even begin to stutter until you drive into the pitlane for refueling. When lights stop blinking, car is completely refueled.

Additionaly, the pitlane can "host" a safety car that can be launched for one round, however I don't use that.

  • digital meens, that you dont´t have to drive on one lane, maybe you´ve seen in the video how the cars changed the lane

  • The tracks are the same (Evo, Exclusive). You just have additional lane changes and a so called black box to provide the control signals modulated over the constant power supply. And of course the car electronics to decode those signals and convert them to individual speed and lane change control.

  • wat is that program u you used at the beggining of the video because i have alot of track aand that would help me ?

  • TrackPower

  • that is so cool my dad also cleans my slot cars and greesis them

  • Hello Habitoti as you could say I've done to save a piece of the career of a car "onboard"?

  • I used a pretty old Canon Ixus II with 640x320 Video recording. I took off the car coachwork and fixed the camera with some tape directly on the chassis. You have to drive pretty slow, otherwise it looks jerky later on.

  • Thank you very much!

  • LOL I'm on my way over to play!

  • k hanks for the help

  • ok thanks for the help. how long is your track btw?

  • ~26m

  • you think for a 20m track 2 taps will be enough?

  • Every 6.5m one tap should work. You don't need them necessarily at all just for driving if you just have the new track system with improved connectors, but the lane changes won't work reliable enough w/o additional power tap close to it (at least that is the case for me, but it might be different for other situations, though).

If your cars miss to change lanes every now and then you need to move the taps closer to the lane changes.

  • Not quite, but close ;-)

  • is this the power supply that comes with the sets? how long is the track? and how many power taps did u use? great track btw

  • Yes, it is the standard power supply, which is totally sufficient. We have three additional power taps, one next to each lane change, since they don't work reliable else.

  • great stuff. i love my slotcars too. have over $10,000 in my collection

  • thanks

  • whats name program edit track? I not USA, Im brasilian

  • whats the software u used to desighn the track

  • Track Power

  • Great looking track and video. Do you plan to build a layout with scenery? Thanks.

  • No, probably not. I have this one large room for multi purpose activities, and currently the track is disassembled again to make room for other stuff. I am more of the seasonal type of Carrera drivers...

  • Well that's okay too - I have a lot of interests also and not enough time for any of them. It's nice you can build a good set up when the time is right.

I'm building a Scalextric set up with some scenery.

  • Awesome video! The trackpower portion at the beginning is fantastic!

How many ghost cars are you running in this video? Looks great!

  • Actually I don't remember. I think we had 3 or 4 ghosts. Of course this video was quite some work, since I have just one camera, so you have to redo the race (or parts of it) exactly with all previous car positions for different camera angles. This is pretty hard with ghosts, since they changes lanes whenever they "want". And it requires careful video cutting later on to make it look seamless...

  • wow... u play those 7 cars? or just watch?

what about if the car im driving change to the other line... the other player takes control of my car?

  • For the ghosts...see my comment above.

And no, it doesn't matter on which lane you drive your car. The commands are provided digitally to exactly your car only, no matter where it is.

  • dou you know if the Carrera "1/32 Ford Mustang GT "Highway Patrol" is digital?

  • so if I have a track that is 21 feet (7 meters) would I need power taps?

  • No.

  • Did you experience any power loss while running 7 cars, is their any difference in power whenever a car changes lanes? Did you use any powertaps?

  • No, 7 cars is no problem. Lane changes should not affect that at all. I used additional power supply cables every ~7m, usually next to lane changes (because they suffer most in long tracks)

  • what camera did you use on the car, looks like a good framerate.

  • It was actually just an "old" Canon Ixos II using video mode at 640x320. I used just the chassis of a car and attached the camera with some tape. To make these shots you have to drive pretty slow, otherwise the video gets jerky and un-viewable for people...

  • i like the view from in in front of the car :D very original...it's looks like the game of micromachines :D nice 5 stars

  • Nice-Vid. What are you putting on your tires for traction? Muti-pen what. Thanks.

  • WD-40 multi purpose oil (makes tires clean and soft)

  • SUPER ! SUPER ! SUPER !

    J'adore !

    Ed.

  • Nice track, how much did it cost

  • ~900€

  • What it that program you use at the begin to setup the Layout

  • It is called "TrackPower"

  • What it that program you use at the begin to setup the Layout

  • Realy cool movie dude. I also have a question, which is perfered for Carrera? 1/24 digital or 1/32 digital? i cant make up my mind, lol.

  • ack, ment thumbs up.

  • I prefer 1/32 since the cars have more room for sliding in the curves and you can have more (and cheaper) cars at the same time on the track. On the other side, the 1/24 cars look really cool and have a much more realistic driving behavior. So its really up to your personal preferences -- you should try to test both first if you are unsure...

  • Full ack...and as you can see, 1/32 is my preference :-)

  • This is awesome. I jsut got the GT racers set. What do you have to do to increase track length beyond 10 meters or so. I heard something about more supply. What does that mean?

  • You need to have additional power supply cables around every 10 meters, otherwise lane changes will fail to switch. These cables are ready-made available from carrera if you don't want to craft them yourself (though it is easy -- just check public Carrera forums for info on that).
