  • @Cardien18

    thx Cardien

  • Excellent job. A very fitting tribute.

    Thank you.

  • You've done a top job there, Cathedralcat. I'm crab-brat myself, being born in Waddington, and I recall the mighty Vulcans very well. Very moving.

  • Catherine, could you also tag this video with VX770. It will help researchers link the aircraft to that very rare cine footage. Respects and thanks. Steve

  • A very moving tribute. What a waste of young lives. Does anyone know what the music is?

  • Really glad you liked this. The music on here is taken from the film soundtrack for 'Atonement' - it's called 'Eligy for Dunkirk and features the British hymn 'Dear Lord and Father of Mankind' - a very fitting tribute I think.

  • I knew Keith Sturt very well as he was on my Venom Flight in Germany No 5 Squadron before he became a test pilot for Rolls Royce. It is my belief as a Vulcan test pilot myself that the leading edge of that Vulcan was damaged before he ever took off and he was in no way to blame for the accident.

  • Tony - I am just reading your books on the Vulcan and your career - fascinating career - I cannot put them down for a moment. Thank you very much!!!

  • Glad you like the books. Let's hope 558 is flying next year for 50th Anniversary. Meanwhile I am continue to write aviation mystery fiction!

  • Meant to add what a wonderful tribute to Keith. As you will probably guess fr om my book that most of the pictures are mine and bring back great memories.

  • Thank you for this touching tribute-I remember the accident well-I was a boy of 11 at the time. The bravery, skill, and dedication of pilots like Keith Sturt has its legacy 50 years later in the high-tec aircraft of today.Their contribution should never be forgotten.
