death metal sucks? please don't tell me you just listened to cannibal corpse and assumed all death metal sucks. there are plenty of phenomenal death metal bands out there. death, decapitated, necrophagist, opeth, anata, bloodbath, and if you include melodic death metal, in flames (old), dark tranquillity, at the gates, mors principium est, kalmah, arch enemy, anterior, aeveron etc. death metal doesn't suck, you just haven't looked hard enough.

On the other hand bands and artists that attempt to play death metal either can't sing or have a horrible rhythm section. Very rarely have I heard a terrible death metal guitarist but they lack the skills of any Death guitarist.
