  • That layout full is better than the one everyone complains about today! A lot of them don't even know she had an ankle injury during Euros and Worlds last year!

  • That ending was kind of intense. She's really expressive.

  • Buenísima, buenísima la Mustafina!!! por algo la mejor del mundo!

  • I'm obsessed with her music! She absolutely beautiful to watch :D

  • where can i get her music ?

I can only find the ones without the humming ?

  • she does have artistry definitely. relative artistry for this day and age. but she doesn't have the traditional soviet artistry as per a Kotchetkova, Lobaznyuk.

  • @sublunar82 - do the Russians even have the same training system though they used to have in the 60's, 70's & 80's? thats a serious question in relation to the fact as you say her artistry, though very good (compared to the godamn awful Amercian routines) is not quite up to par with the past........

  • Her music is Hijo De La Luna :)

  • круть))

  • beauty in motion. its nice to see russian gymnastics coming back, and they've NEVER lost their infamous beauty and artistry

  • ALIYA<3333

  • She looks older than she really is....I want to see more of her little sister Nailya!

  • fantastic music¡¡¡¡¡

  • her recent routine from Doha is MILES above this......she has cleanes up her form beautifully

  • yup, but she's eligible in 2010... only a couple weeks left!

  • oh my.....those Russian juniors make me have a hope for artistic gymnastics :D

    Go Russia!

  • The coaches should seriously reconsider the construction of the routine. The 3rd pass incurs more deductions than it's worth. She has a beautiful full-in; it's an E and it would take much less energy than the 1½ twist-Rudi combination she does now.

This way, her D score could be raised to a 6.1.

  • When has she competed a full-in on floor? I've never seen her do one.

  • Oops, you're right! I've mistaken her with Komova (which i have no excuse for, when I adore Aliya's gymnastics ;-)!

  • Ah, ok.

Her third pass was a lot better at the Russian Cup so she'll probably be able to get it more consistent in the future.

  • Sure, but with only 5 acro skills counting, will she get the whole 0.7 credit she'd get for a CC combination?

  • She'll probably get credit for only one of the C skills and the connection bonus. So the 3rd pass is worth 0.4 (?).

She doesn't need it, she already has a combination pass. She'd better change it into a single D (like a double tuck) or, if she's capable, into an E skill (perhaps a full-in?).

  • I really do agree. Mustafina's twisting technique is just awful... IMO far worse than Ponor's was. That triple twist at the end is ugly... I would be interested to see it in slow motion. Aside from Komova, who simply floats in her gymnastics, I'm not THAT impressed by these juniors. I understand that Nabieva does an Amanar and can make it around easily, but her form is about as bad as Nistor's double twist. And i may be alone here, but I feel like Aliya doesn't even dance in this FX. ;( just IMO

  • If she feels confident enough she can make a triple full dismount all the way round (taking HUGE risk in case it gets downgraded), her twisting technique can't be that bad. She crosses her legs, like 99% of gymnasts, but that hardly qualifies as awful technique. And yes, you're alone there, Aliya CAN dance (and most importantly, listen to the music)! In Tanya's case, an over rotated Amanar, a Bhardwaj&a full-twisting Shaposhnikova at 14 might not impress you, but they can definitely impress me!

  • the skills these girls have are VERY impressive on all events, which is why I would prob fall over dead in my chair if they didn't dominate jr euros in april. i'm just not impressed by how they do them. of course an Amanar is out of this world, but I definitely prefer Mo Huilan's perfect double over Nabieva's Amanar. A triple twist dismount on FX is of course impressive, but I don't think Mustafina does it adequately, in comparison with, Iordache, for example, who is 13 (Look up rom nats 2009!)

  • Larisa's amazing (as I have pointed out), but her twisting technique isn't miles ahead of Mustafina's: she also crosses her legs (although considerably less), and if we want to be fair, her double twisting front had crossed and BENT legs, reminiscent of Ponor's oh-so-lovely triple tucked twist! Watch Aliya's FX at the Russian Cup, you might reconsider.

PS: Very convenient to compare a PERFECT jump to a flawed one. Mo's was one of the best vaults ever. Nabieva's clearly isn't. But very promising.

  • Please watch her gorgeous triple twist dismount from the 2009 Gymnasiade in Doha; she stuck it cold. Her twisting technique is actually great, I don't know how you have the nerve to compare it to Ponor's!

  • @MsNoelle555 ..Ponor-awful?WTF?what do you say?specialists, judges have seen her Olympic champion, the commentators have praised it, the audience cheered her!!!!who are you?who do you think you are?

  • i didn't say she was awful, i said her twisting technique was awful. i quite liked her, along with the rest of the romanian team from that olympics. i wish munteanu hadn't gotten injured though, as she was my favorite gymnast at the time.

  • not bad...if you wanna see "great turns" you should look up ana porgras of romania...she has some really good turns.

  • ana does have a better memmel turn, the best i've ever seen i think. but this tumbling is a lot better, and she is a good performer. I'm really looking forward to seeing her and an improved ana at worlds next year!

  • well, porgras is a pretty good tumbler...she lacks a lot of difficulty, but i think she's a much cleaner gymnast than most...either way, these two ladies are awesome and i can't wait to see what they come up with in the years to come :)

  • @toomuchgoingon I think Porgras will upgrade her fx soon, as she had just come back from an injury. My guess is that she turns her double back into a triple full, or maybe brings back her double front... would be amazing if she could do both!!!!! i think it will be interesting to see RUS and ROM at jr euros next april. RUS will win because they have girls who have difficulty on all 4 events already, but i really do like the romanian girls who are 13 right now. iordache is especially impressive.

  • oh my god! she uses "hijo de la luna" as floor music!.

  • YES!! i lov this music too!

  • It's beautiful (and original)l! Much better than her last year's fug waltz mix!

  • I know, right!?!?!

  • Can anyone work out the details of her routine?

  • Arabina Double Tucked - E

Double Tur with leg up - D

5/2 twist punch layout full- D+C (0.2 connection bonus)

    Split 3/2 (Gogean) D

Double turn wiht leg above horizontal (Y)- C

    Split + Swithc 1/2 -C

    back 3/2 punch front 3/2 C+C (0.1 bonus)

    Triple twist - E

  • I guess the "double turn at split position" should be a D instead of C

  • Isn't she supposed to count 5 acro and 3 dance skills? I got 6 acro (E - E - D - C - C - C)!

  • yes, yet she would count 2D and 1 C in dance. she have extra C´s in this rotine!

  • @gymfrombrazil Actually, I believe the double turn with leg above horizontal is a D. Unless there have been revisions since the time I downloaded my 2009 code.

  • @gymfrombrazil The Memmel is a D, not a C.

  • pretty girl, lol.

  • Wow, she's had quite a growth spurt! Unfortunately she has lost most of her polish...

  • she's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dear Judges - Please prohibit sleeveless leotards, easy mounts on beam and music with vocals. Feel free to allow once more the lunge back after tumbling passes. Thank you.

  • I agree--Mustafina's beam mount from last year was so much better, and so was her music. However, her upgraded tumbling is quite nice. And she has three years to clean it up.

  • Certainly! But it´s amazing that in less tha 1 month she could perform such precision Floor On Russian Cup-last week! God bless her!

  • Great dance

  • does anybody have lauren mitchell on beam from this competition? apparently she threw a layout full in on beam

  • I heard she threw a layout full not a layout full in. A full in is a double salto with the twist on the first salto.

  • oops, meant full. haha

  • this is hugeee!!!those passes are crazyy....but only a 5.8 SV?it looks kinda low..I mean !!!!!double arabian;2.5-full;1.5-1.5;triple twist!!!!!that's a looot!!!

  • It's actually supposed to be a 6.0 SV but she dropped her leg on the double turn with leg up, so it goes down from D to C, and her Gogean (1.5 split leap) was not fully round, D to C. But yeah, the judges were a little critical on the routine.

  • When the Memmel turn gets downgraded, they count a 360° spin above horizontal which is a B, not a C.

  • Oeh I like her music, I also listen that music at home :D,

But it's not only intrumantal. I hear people sing...

  • Such a sweet music! Fits her very well, acttually!

Does somebody knows the song´s name?

  • It´s Called

    "Hijo de la Luna"

  • Great Job! Alyia Mustafina, one nice girl. We will see her in London, certanly.

  • Beautiful*

  • I love her elegance.

    Go RUSSIA!!

    Thanks for post this videos!

  • Beutiful triple twist!

  • I really hope you're joking

  • Comment removed

  • yep, it isn't that beautiful..

but closing a rotine like this, a floor like this, with triple twist is extremely pleasing

  • she got all the way round but legs were horribly crossed
