probably one of the last times sissel was overshadowed in any degree by another singer--she has developed into such a spectacular performer.

I don't think Sissel was overshadowed in this performance. She's too good to be overshadowed imho lol! There are moments when you can hear Sissel's powerful voice floating to the surface. It's just that more emphasis is given to the character of Florence (Judy Kuhn) instead of Svetlana (Sissel). Honestly, I prefer this type of performance as compared to duets where singers try to outdo each other by belting or worse, shouting.

@KateBushDepot what i meant was that I've never seen her in a secondary role--only in solo or in duets with singers like Espen Lind or male opera singers. I just discovered her about a year ago and haven't seen much from her early period. She is my favorite female singer of all time at this point--her tone,her range and most of all her interpretation of the song-phrasing,nuance,control--­she is the ultimate artist..
