i always loved this show as a kid. I got into hang-gliding because of one of the episodes! I wish they would put out the series in DVD! Thanks for posting!
I watched this series when it was aired here in Brazil in the 70s and I just loved it!!
Do you have by any chance anything about another tv series called "the girl with something extra" starring Sally Field and John Davison? It would be great to take a look at this again!!!
At the time I thought Leif Garrett was cute. Little did I know that he'd eventually become another has-been who got hooked on booze & drugs. His life is a sad story & now he seems to make his living on reality shows that showcase "has been" child actors who lived life on the edge and now have little to offer the showbiz world.
Leif has NEVER been a has-been, and although he struggles with drug addiction, he's continued to act in movies, tv, toured musically, & recorded music, which IS available not only on cd (2007 Three Sides Of...) , but also as a download on his myspace page. His 2010 single Everything was recently up, but has been rotated off for another track.
He's an incredibly talented, professional, and kind person and I don't fault him his trials, as we all have them. I wish him well!
Man, I remember this show as a kid...they used to carry a dirt bike on the back of the RV, and the plots were so inocent....what a great and simple show it was...a simple time.
WOW! ive finally come accross this series after about 20 years of searching. thank you so much. i saw this on ATV here in the UK back in the 70's. i loved the show though it was short lived. thanks so much again.
You're right. I just checked an old TV production book as well as IMDB and it was MTM's first hour-long dramatic series. I didn't think they expanded into drama until '77 or '78 but I'm glad you set me straight. Thanks.
Mary Tyler Moore Productions?? no j/k, yes it was MTM Enterprises. This show aired in september of 1975 and only aired about 12 or 13 episodes until it was cancelled in November 1975
It was enjoyable family fare, but doomed by its time slot.
In 1975 the FCC introduced the "family hour" Sundays from 7 to 8 for network programs either for family entertainment or news.
CBS had the 6-7pm time slot for 60 MINUTES and about 40 affiliates covering 20 key market opted not to show THREE FOR THE ROAD from 7 - 8pm in favour of local news. This made it the lowest rated show on the air. After 3 months CBS moved 60 MINUTES to the 7 PM slot where it remains to this day.
Wow. So glad someone posted this clip. Was searching since last year. I always remembered the theme to the intro and enjoyed its short series here. Thanks for sharing!!
OHMYGOD !!! I've been waiting FOREVER for someone to post this !!! This is the show where I totally fell in love with Leif ... I was obsessed with him for YEARS! Wow! Do you have any more clips from this TV show you could post? I would be really grateful !!!! :)
Vince drove me crazy --- he was a beautiful guy. Great smile, perfect body. Leif was a young cutie but Vince was my dream.

This show is indeed forgotten, mainly by anyone who ever saw an episode. That can happen to any product which has NO REASON TO EXIST at all!

Are you sure this was an MTM production? I thought this show was produced by Warner Bros. Television.
