What a moving piece of history. I have seen this movie many times and it moves me to tears just as even now my eyes are wet. The tragedy of man's dominating of man continues to this day. The elite of society continue to control the institutions that enslave the common people. How many today suffer from an existance in which they struggle to support the needs of their families. May we never forget the peaceful struggles of those who gave their all to reverse the tide of hatred and abuse.
Wilberforce was by no means perfect, but he deserves honor and recognition for doing something that most people were afraid to do. So he stumbled and fell along the way but never with malice.
Making changes against popular beliefs have never been easy, especially if majority of the world is in the same belief. Slavery wasn't just something in Europe, it was all over the world. But at least Wilberforce tried, and I think that is what matters most, he tried when most men were afraid, and in the end he did some good.
A Baptist minister introduced the film when I went to see it. He said "slavery still happens today" i.e human traffiking, prostitution, unfair trading etc. We need to take a stand today like Wilberforce did all these years ago!
this story has move my compasion for my fouth parents/ mr. Williaam wilberfore who foth for slavary/because of the grace/blessing of God who see him through on to victory.let love cont.
