I'm sorry but a video blog????????? every thingle persone in america is going to watch to ask him a question... That would at best take away from his imporant duities as president.. DOY I am homosexual, and I am all for equal rights, but come on, a video blog???
@JitterBob haha yeah what a stupid idea.. i also think that equal rights are important and not just in the lgbt community but everywhere but i know that there are more important things for the president to be doing with his time than have to maintain a video blog.
i am 15 yrs old and from canada i do not understand this crap all the way but im trevor and im gay and i think that when i get older and find my love that we should be able to have the same rights now i dont know about the USA but in canada where im from its ok to be gay there are no laws nothing and for now im happy about that i dont see y it is a big deal to be gay and bann gays lesbians bisexuals all this crap LOVE is LOVE no matter what if you love someone you LOVE them
oh my god, are you kidding me? Why the hell are you homophobes watching this video? Honestly do you have nothing better do to with you pathetic lives.... thats very sad.
I'm straight and proud, but if I say that in public, I go to jail, because that's a "hate crime"! That's considered taunting the high and mighty gays! Where the hell is the equality in that?
Stop shooting him down, the guy has a point. Get equal rights, then be quiet about it, or it'll go the same way as feminism; they'll already have equal rights and keep on asking for SUPERIOR rights using imagined discrimination as fuel. That happens sometimes anyway, gays claiming discrimination for being fired when they're doing a bad job. Enough is enough.
I can't believe you're asking that. It's not about attention. It's about equality and acceptance the same way being straight is accepted, and unfortunately, it's not accepted world wide yet. When you can't be married to the person you love, it's not acceptance. And they're not even going on about gay rights in this video. They're talking about the president having a video blog to discuss the issues. I dunno.
Who really cares if your gay, or not? Who gives a damn what you do in your little houses? And if you want to make yourself special, then put a sign on your door saying "I'm Special" and go on with your life.
you guys are terrible. Not because you are lesbians, i have multiple gay friends. You guys are just fucking annoying and Fred Toucher rules your assholes.
FindMaddieMccan: Yes, they ARE lesbians. So am I. And your problem with that is? That was such an educated comment, I thought you might like to further elaborate on your amazing grasp of the obvious. /rolls eyes
Your question is freedom of speech and I am glad you asked it. Do you know that in every state that has voted on gay marriage it has failed. This is a democracy. The people have spoken thus far. Maybe it will change. Probably through the courts like they did with abortion. They found some genius idea that it was ok to execute unborn babies in the courts. People dont want their children to see men marrying men and likewise for weman.
Equality is Equality. Popular opinion shouldn't weigh in on it. You are either a society who treats your citizens equally, or you're not. According to our Constitution, Equality is the Rule, not a special right if you're chosen worthy.
Oh and btw, not EVERY state, facts are good to use 'n stuff. It didn't fail in Hawaii initially, and it has been approved in Massachusetts. Most people seem to be fine with civil unions so they're children are going to see it regardless, the problem seems to lie with the term "Marriage".
I don't think the "video" part is all that crucial- but I do think that, in this day and age, there's no reason why our lawmakers shouldn't communicate back to us every single time they vote, to justify their actions.
Very awesome. Thank you for putting the question out there. Even though I'm not old enough to vote yet that is one of the main questions I want answered, well, by everyone.
Thanks for taking part in the questioning - good idea about a presidential video blog. Do you think she/he will be able to be more informal in that medium?
Thank you for saying it... your video question was great... when people start realizing that equal marriage rights have nothing to do with religion and personal beliefs and the constitution says seperation of church and state.. maybe then honest justice's will do the right thing..
thanks again.. good luck to you and us all in the journey to full equality because we are Americans no matter who we love...
Are these women not from Brooklyn? They're American right? or has Brooklyn split off and formed a gay colony and these are just two of their liasons trying to reform the New America? If so, I'm moving... I bet the coffee shops are better.
Beg your pardon? I'm a native Brooklynite and there are plenty of integrated gays, lesbians, and transgenders in our society, thankyouverymuch! Hell, here's a REAL kicker for you -- even my rural "redneck" Texas town of 2,000 that I moved to has a gay and lesbian demographic! The shock, the horror! People INTEGRATED into society and treated like normal individuals.
treated like normal individuals, how? By being called fags and dykes constantly. By not being able to marry who they love, and in some cases being killed. If that doesn't happen in your town, you're lucky, but don't tell me it doesn't happen in the world because it does, big time. I believe everyone should be proud of their sexual orientation, no matter what it is.
