  • I Live On Vinalhaven.. You are the old farmer on his horse drawn wagon when he sees a Model A Ford coming it him for the first time. So you want everybody else to walk? You want everybody to slow down and give the farmer the right of way? The wind turbines make less noise then a horse drawn wagon. “GET REAL” The human ear can not hear 2db’s.. READ THE TRUTH @ Facebook: Fox Islands Wind Friends “SPIN ~ BABY ~ SPIN!”

  • A few decibels above the legal noise limit is an issue that ought to be addressed, but I hardly think it constitutes ruining people's lives. They're disappointed because they either didn't do their research or didn't take the noise warnings seriously. Now instead of admitting they might have been wrong, they'd like to punish the rest of the town by having them removed? That hardly seems fair to make everyone else pay for the comfort of a couple people who volunteered to be a part of this.

  • In the overall scheme of things wind turbines are the biggest scam being forced on an unwilling public all in the name of "green energy". They are a blight on the landscape and create NO jobs, zero, zilch, nada!! The only people benefitting from them are the companies reaping the tax credits & subsidies for building the monstrosities.Ugly, ugly structures.

  • Yeah...you look like victims to me, (in a world of victims you're number one). Crickets and bullfrogs make more noise but I'm guessing there's no wildlife left in Maine...just old fusspots. I'll trade you my place in Ontario and you can run your db thingy and see that the insects up here match airplane noise levels. Of course if you were here you'd probably want to legislate the extermination of all insects or any living thing that made noise, (coyotes, wolves). Yeah...you're victims alright.

  • I can understand how something like humungous "wooshing" wind turbines can be annoying to hear twenty four hours per day, but you could also insulate your house against noise, the same way you insulate your house for heating and cooling purposes. You can even replace your windows with noise insulating windows. Newer buildings built in the city have this as a standard.

  • is the sound from the blades or from the turbines? if it is from the turbines, cant they sound insulate the turbine casings?

  • I find it hard to believe that a 3 decibels over the limit at night should qualify as "ruining someone's life." Plus everyone's saving money and we created some jobs. All I can say is it sucks, but get over it.

  • i dont care about how noisy you think it is because its helping the environment, and move if you dont like!
