  • things to do before I die : no.1 Have sex while flying a spitfire

P.S. probably a cool way to die too !?!?!

  • @KarpatycGhost Albeit painful.

  • isnit just me or is the tail and elevator on the spit somehow small, how is it at slow speed near stall when u land?

  • great sound ! hugs fron brazil

  • The sound of freedom ..

  • wouw beautifull sound!!!

  • It's just amazinghow they manage to restore these mean machines as if they just rolled out of the factory!

  • Sounds fine, flip the engine covers back on, top up her tanks and let her fly....

  • Too bad the Mk. 18 missed the war.

  • @AustraliaDebt

Yes a beauty of a plane - but the men that flew them are more stunning - all countries.

That must have been terrifying but they all still did it for us!

  • Correct me if im wrong but it looks like a Griffon V12 than Merlin V12 ?

    Is the Mk18 a post 1945 Spitefire ?

    Just asking ...

  • @Naoko1960 Pretty obvious it's a Griffon. Merlins rotate counter-clockwise (viewed from front of aircraft) and Griffons rotate clockwise. Merlins also don't have a high enough HP output to turn a 5 bladed propeller efficiently.

You can always tell a Griffon-engined Spitfire in flight from the two rectangular bumps on the engine cowling on the starboard and aft top side to accommodate the larger heads on the Griffon engine.

  • @GGigabiteM right in both answers ,, when you have heard many of these fine engines, and only will search the sound you can hear the difference between these two dif engines sorry the spelling i am from Denmark.....

  • @Naoko1960 The Mk XVIII (18) didn't enter service until 1947, although the Mk XIX (19) entered service in 1944

  • WOW, its a sound to go to bed with :-)

  • @zog97xy The only thing why the Spitfires shoted down all of the BF109es is that there were like 8spitfire against 4 Escorter ME109 and some bombers. In the Battle of Britan the Naci Escorters were outnumbered compared to the British airplanes. Oh and also the HE-111 was made for Blitzkrieg not for strategic bombing so it had less defense blablabla. Between the ME109 is a beautiful plane afterall but this video is about the spitfire.... Why we have to speak about the ME109 then? xD

  • @razgriz001. The luftwaffe had more planes, and were not outnumbered in the sky

  • @mr9396 maybe early in the war but by 1943 the allies outnumbered the germans in the sky

  • @pramboy09. In the battle of britian, the RAF were outnumbered 3 - 1. If you are going to make a point get your facts right.

  • @mr9396 maybe you should read what i put down before you vent off, i said early in the war the luftwaffe out numbered the raf but not by 1943 so YOU get your facts right

  • @pramboy09. In your first comment you said in the BATTLE OF BRITAIN, the RAF outnumbered the LUFTWAFFE. That is where you are wrong.

  • @mr9396 I DID NOT SAY THAT YOU IDIOT RAZGRIZ SAID THAT, again YOU GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!

  • @pramboy09. Even so. The RAF, not the allies, were outbumbered. you get YOUR facts right.

  • @mr9396 what in 1943 the luftwaffe had more aircraft than the RAF?? bullshit. The RAF had not just british planes in service such as , hurricanes, spitfire, mosquito, lancaster, sterling, wellington, beaufighter, blenheim, beaufort but also p-51, p-40, p-47, b-17, b-24,b-25, your trying to tell me the germans had more aircraft what a load of rubbish.

  • Magnificent sound and view of a sexy machine

  • i am sory, but ze ME109 was far superior plane with ze best pilots-zats vy ve vun

    ze battle of ze britun!

sorry- only taking piss out of die-hard nazis

  • @darkmossie633 pity they couldnt beat a spitfire then isnt it.

  • fly baby fly!!!

  • Duxford?

  • Hot.

  • awsome sound me wants it,,,,,

  • any reason why the prop runs counter clockwise ?? i've notice that the prop turns clockwise on merlin powered spits, from the pilots point of view !!

  • Comment removed

  • nope, sorry mate, my question still stands.. take another look !!

  • @JOHNO4992 I don't know exactly why it turns counter-clockwise, but some british aeroengines turn this way, for example the De Havilland Gipsy series.

  • Hi.. i just wondered why the Griffon engine turns the opposite way to the Merlin ?

  • @JOHNO4992 I read that it was because the griffon was designed for naval aircraft, so that the torque of the engine pulled the aircraft away from the tower on an aircraft carrier rather than towards it

  • What a beautiful sound - I could use it to drown out all those pests snarling obscenities on one note.

  • I'd give up sex for the rest of my life to own her!

  • Incredibly smooth.

  • Well done gentlemen, well done.

  • damn imagine putting that RR merlin v12 in a little cesna. thing would fly then... if it didnt just rip out of the fuselage

  • fucking awesome vidoe uality

  • @fluxmaden shame you cant comment on this excelent video with out using filthy language, just goes to show your ignorence

  • Yes, it really did. The only Griffon Spitfire with a four blades prop was the Mk XII, (besides some prototypes and later naval types). Some had contra props too!

    Foxtrot Julet, Cz.rep.

  • did that thing have 5 props?

  • @dizzypilots1

Yeah, griffon engined Spits had 5 bladed props

  • @TopGunSGA i had no idea of a 5 bladed prop,thanks for the info.

  • @dizzypilots1 one prop 5 blades

  • I saw a Griffon powered Mk XIV being test flown out of Whenuapai (NZ) back in 1994 after being re-assembled out of it's shipping crate. (For the owner, Sir Tim Wallis of Wanaka).

The test pilot really pit it through its paces - and it simply went like a cat with it's tail on fire. It's speed and climbing ability were astonishing.

  • I want to sit in that cockpit and masturbate like there was no tomorrow [sigh]

  • Go for it. You dont need the plane.

  • what the hell...

  • With weapons on 450 mph is fast m8

  • Sexy machine!

  • before is starts up, it sounds like a bmw v12 from those old 750i or 850i ones! V12 POWER!!!

  • I thought those BMW's had V8's not V12's?

  • The bmw I have, has a 5.0 V12, known as the M70 v12 engine. Some Bmw's have 4.0 V8 engines, known as the BMW M60 V8.

  • Thanks for that i didn't even know that! lol

  • i thuoght this was a Mk 19? so what is the difference between the Mk18 and 19?

  • The Mk 19 was a Photo Reconn aircraft, and as such was unarmed

  • so that was why it was so fast? if they put weapons on it the top speed wouldnt be that impressive?

  • the spitfire was fast and agile even with 8 machineguns on board, the German bomber crews feared it, there has been records found of Luftwaffe pilots saying it was there worst nightmare.

  • i think this is the Mk19 Reconn as you mentioned!

    watch?v=HVHvt5Zl9UU

just check out 1:38 the sound of that Griffon as it picks up speed and winds its self up is just sex on wings

  • Because it have a Griffon engine

  • a dream of my life is, to fly a warbird, spitfire or messerschmidt.... just for one day..

  • One whole day? thats kinda greedy, I would settle for only a ½ day, or even a quarter!

  • I'd settle for however long it took me before I'd need to change my pants - Probably 30 seconds

  • who doesn't?

  • Great quality stuff... thanks

  • As if the engine was new :)

  • Fantastic!!

  • TURN IT UP!!!
