Ah! You have the Gaelic! Yes the Scots/Irish connection is very strong with West Virginia. There are probably more Gaelic speakers in your state than the whole of Scotland. Stunning tone from your guitar. Once again....buidheachas!

Maybe I'm missing something but I feel like I missed two chords at like 3:30? when you mention the G? or at 4:30 when you start playing it you move up frets and I feel like when I sing it something is missing. So is it just G D then the chord at sorry?
Hey, many thaks for this upload, great job, a real nice to follow tutorial. BTW, I actually think you've got a pretty good job, you just need to believe yourself a bit more.
As a somewhat young'un who goes to CSN(sometimes Y) concerts with my dad, being able to play the opening for this, and seeing the recognition and subsequent smile on his face is why I love playing the guitar. Thanks so much this was such a helpful video!

Sorry!!! I got my strings mixed up on last post. The thinnest string is the first string, and the fattest is the 6th in real life. I wrote it reversed. So on the last post, lets temporarily consider the thin E string is the sixth string. Must be my ADD kicking in. Please delete this post and my last post after reading. Will
On the intro, at 2:30, when you say the D chord is on the 4th and 5th strings, it sounds just as good to me to place fingers on the 6th strg on the 4th, and 5th srtg on the 5th, as you work your way down from the start of the intro. It is an easier transition since you are sliding down the neck on the 6th and 5th strings. Both ways ring the D chord correctly. Just easier transcending to D chord on the same strings as the intro's (dyads) chords. Am I going in the right direction?
For those who have been mislead with EEEEBE tuning, compare your tuning with CS&N live recording of SJBE on youtube, and listen closely when Steven hits the open D bass string. The original song just rings in D. That is how I know I know the EEEEBE tunning is off. It helps to train your ear. Labeak is spot on with this cover. Now I feel better. Will I Am / North Carolina
I learned this tune from you about a year ago. I am glad I booked marked you, because I have forgotten it. Came back for a refressor. I now am a subscribee. @enochpeter actually it's not...Stephen uses EEEEBE for this and many others, Word Game, 4 & 20, Love The One You're With...just as example...so many more though...how do I know? I learned it from the man himself in mid 70's in Colorado
@reptile5150 dude tune it down 2 halfsteps and its the woodstock live version. DDDDAD wich is nearly the same as DADDAD. and 5 string isnt much used anyway so thats why it sounds nearly the same
@gitarrojoe just say tune down a full step (E to D) true, Stephen plays it live (DDDDAD) bands tune down now for vocal reasons...he was no diff back then...but why he never uses the DADDAD is two fold (he does hit the 5 string), he uses his version of Travis picking...when i was with him in Gold Hill (CO) I actually had what i thought it was..he lol said nah man, want it fully modal, not like crosby man...check the vid at his Laurel Canyon home (Stephen Stills - Sounding Out - Part 1) Peace!
Pretty good tutorial but not really that clear on the fingering positions in the middle and end of the lesson. Could you re-post this lesson with a better visual and vocal explanation of where the chord are played exactly and not go so quick. When you have explained the positions then you could play through the song slowly just to show how it all fits together. Otherwise you are on track.
Alright, listen up, people. Our fugitive has been on the run for ninety minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries is 4 miles-per-hour. That gives us a radius of six miles. What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive's name is Dr. Richard Kimble. Go get him!
