For me, Im just glad it's not among today's shows. While everybody is watching Family Guy or The Simpsons, we, who still love this show have the special privilege of watching this show without too much of a bigger and more criticizing audience. We can watch this in peace. Because the people who watch this, love it. I assure you, I watch no other cartoon. I jump on youtube and flip through the seasons of Home Movies. I assure you.

brendon made movies to forget about his dad and experience a great childhood but now he doesn't have one his eyes started watering becuz he thought of his dad and melissa was growing up and you can tell becuz she used too much makeup all the time and jason.....he's just Jason.

Why does everyone hate the ending (even Brendon Small himself)? When I first saw it, I was all like, haha, he dropped his camera, and then I saw those last moments from the view of the camera, and I was gettin' all sad, and then the theme started playing and I was contemplating those last moments and I was all like I'm a terrible person for laughing at that and I don't think I would've noticed what a terrible person I am if the Brendon's Camera song kept on playing.

@CrimsonToast I know dude! Like, I'll be honest, right when I first heard of moral orel I was like, "what a stupid show about some kid who is a bible humper." But one night when nothing else was on I decided I would watch it for once, and I was hooked. The 3rd season fucking blew me away with emotions. Like its supposed to be a stupid 15 minute comedy cartoon, but that 3rd season really hit me hard on an emotional level that no other cartoon has ever done, barring a couple futruama episodes.

The ending is so touching! This is the only show I've ever watched from beginning to end that left me completely satisfied. Usually good shows tend to go on too long and they start to suck, or when they do end they end in some over the top cheesy way, but this was seriously perfect.

The camera his father gave him breaking kind of symbolizes to me him breaking away from his past of making movies (Which were really just expressions of what was going on in his life in the first place) and moving on with his family, that now seems to include the coach as a father figure.

@TheFartingBaby: Makes sense. A bunch of the other episodes ended with non-standard end theme music, so it was surprising this one switched to the standard stuff when the previous music was so much more appropriate. I always wished it had continued through the credits.

I saw that version, it's the one it aired with, but on the DVD it has the theme song that ruins the feel of the last episode. and it's actually not the sunset theme, according to the cd bonus disc in the season 4 box set, the song is called "Brendan's Camera" I cried at this ending. the fact that the series is over just makes me want to cry.

I kinda think using the normal theme was right here.. its like "This is the final epsiode, here's that nostalgic song one last time." All the best shows end suddenly and painfully, like seinfeld and futurama. The best thing about this episode is that dispite having the appropriate themes of reminiscence and finality, the plot its self could have been plucked from anywhere in the series, they didn't diverge from keeping the action based on realistic day to day life, allowing it to sum up what the show is all about, making for a perfect yet sad ending.

I think it's important that this ended when it did. If it had kept going, there's always the chance that the demand would have made the quality diminish like so many other cult shows like Scrubs, Family Guy, The Office (before you jump on this, think about it: you know I'm right on all of them).

I believe that in hindsight, we were fortunate for this to end so that it's Cult Show status could not diminish.
