Despite what Chris did, he still deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. WWE let him use drugs because they saw differently on it. If Benoit hadn't killed himself, I bet he would be having a lot of nights just wishing he could take all of that back. and u know wut guys, he always wanted to give u guys one hell of a show. Thats y he had multiple concussions in life and that gave him the brain of an 85 year old alzhimers sufferer. RIP Benoit and Guerrero. 2 of the best in the WWE/F.
@SuperTre2215 No, Chris doesn't deserve to be in the HOF. How could the WWE induct a person who killed his family? Chris was one of the best technical wrestlers around but even when WWE is mainly about wrestling, there IS a humanitarian part. Like helping Make-A-Wish foundation or performing for the troops. When we talk about two innocent life, it's IMPOSSIBLE to separate Benoit the wrestler from Benoit the person. it goes beyond his in-ring skills. There is no excuse to justify his actions.
@Hperman09 did u not read wut i said? he put his life on the line each and every night for every single one of us. think of all those times he did a headbutt from the top rope and sometimes even off the top of a ladder. that damaged him a lot and he knew that but he still kept on doing it cuz he wanted to give us one hell of a show. i know wut he did was wrong. but we were a big part of that to.
@SuperTre2215 I think you need to read more carefully. If you think so then by that logic. should the NFL induct OJ Simpson in the hall of fame just because of his famous football career and he ruined it when he killed his wife and his friend? No one should induct a murderer and his accomplishments pretty much being tarnished because of his crimes.
And Chris Benoit chose to use the headbutt, even if Vince did told him too but that DOESN't mean he had to do it so Benoit reek the consequences.
i really beleive it did mess with him . i know someon from childhood who was cool and family was cool they helped us alot. but when his dad an sister died in an auto wreck caused by drunk driving he couldnt take it. i remember being 12 and him holdin back but the sadness and anger was overwhelming. he killed himself and people talked bout how weak the family was. some people jus dnt care. 24 years later people still act the same. shit depressin me now

Beautiful Chris Benoit, I'm sure Eddie's death affected you more than anyone else. It's hard to watch this videos knowing how much he suffered, and the only person to help him out had passed away. I'm a super fan of Chris Jericho's... Chris Jericho states in both his books (both published after Benoit's incident), that Benoit was a mentor, a great friend, and a confidant. Benoit was the last person he would expect to do that. But he also said that after Eddy died, Benoit called him sobbing, saying he couldn't do it anymore. He couldn't take losing all of the people who were closest to him. Now, his drug abuse and brain damage affected him, but deaths like Eddy's really hurt him most.
I think benoit lost half of his mind when eddie died and was under serious depression, not only he had a brain of a 85 year old alzhimers sufferer. Either you love him or you hate him, you still have to respect what he went through to do this terrible accident.

why did eddie and chris have to die? so many years have passed since and both are never forgotten and still missed. i will always remember them and miss them.
There is nothing that will ever convince me that this man CONSCIOUSLY did the things he did in his last days, and its a shame that Vince and the WWE dont realize that and have erased him from from existence in their company. He literally gave everything for the business. I could understand maybe not mentioning him as much as other deceased wrestlers are mentioned but to have him erased like that is just sad.
I guess he'll just have to live forever in the hearts and memories of all us fans.
@ItsTimeIDisappear09 i kinda agree with wwe for doing what they are doing its way to controversial to bring up on national tv. people have different beliefs and i think wwe have accepted the fact the past is the past and its time to move forward
There's no dying that Chris Benoit was an amazing professional wrestler, easily one of the greats. However, whether his last actions invalidate his accomplishments is for you to decide. What we do know however is that his injuries did have something to do with what he did. Not only that, but if Eddie Guerrero were still alive, Chris probably would be two. I think we all agree that when Eddie died, his best friend never truly recovered from his death.
Might as well get this out there. First off, there is sufficient evidence to explain, to a degree, Chris Benoit's actions. This does not excuse them. His brain, upon autopsy, was found to be similar to that of an 85 year old Alzheimer's patient. This offers us some explanation, but no excuses. There is no excuse for what he did, but to demonize him and forget his stellar career as a professional wrestler who entertained us for so long is a slap in the face of wrestlers everywhere.
If anyone wonders what sent Benoit over the edge, I believe the passing of Eddie was the beginning. Police found Benoit's diary and Benoit always wrote about how much he missed Eddie. It's a shame they both are more than likely in different places now
@sbsilvers1 Eddie was the catalyst of spirital guidance and insanity for so many people. Benoit said himself Eddie was his voice of reason whenever he was about to do something stupid or foolish. Eddie was everything to Benoit. Eddie was Benoits' sanity. When he died, Benoit went into a downward spiral and never recovered from it.
@ryanneglect Shut your god damn piece of trash mouth! HE DINT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING!!!!!! EVERYone saround him only had nice things to say about him! His son called him "pooh bear" That is how much his own son loved him! The child ALSO had a troubled brain. OH and if you didn't know. MENTAL RETARDATION CAN BE GENETIC!!!!!!
@midlodcm@ryanneglact I agree with you midlodcm Chris Benoit is one of the most respected men in wrrestling he was great not a murder! He had problems with his brain . HE HAD NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT HE DID!
@oKlDDo Chris Benoit WAS one of the most respected men in wrestling. Now, the only people who respect him are people such as yourself who attempt to justify the murder of his wife and young child.
@oKlDDo thank you, people say such horrible things about him. But they don't know what they're talking about. I hope that they will one day learn that it was not his fault.
The death of Chris Benoit was an ulster travesty, not just the death but the way the cops handled the case.an UNOPENED pack of steroids doesn't prove anything.there was only ONE wound on the wife, no reason for Benoit to do this, and there was no suicide note.plus, they interview with Chris Jericho, Rey mysterio etc. saying that Benoit was fine A HALF HOUR before the fact. don't let the Rabid Wolverine die here. re-post this everywhere to get Benoit what he deserve-respect. R.I.P Benoit
The true is that WWE won't put him in the HOF cause of the way he ended his life and what he did to his family. The only way I can see it happening its that WE (the WWE fans) make our voices heard somehow saying we want him in the HOF, and I agree that he should be in cause he made big money for WWE and made us great fans of the business, not to mention he was one of the best inside the squared circle for the longest time. R.I.P Chris Benoit. LETS MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD SO HE GETS INDUCTED!
Correct, when he was alive and still working a schedule, he was worth something to them. Now they can't put the man in the Hall Of Fame? Tell me, how exactly did Benoit's brain wind up looking like an 85-year-old Alzeimer's patient's brain the year of his death? Oh, that's right, it wasn't WWE, the company that overworks theire wrestlers week to week to earn revenue. *sarcasm* Not enshrining Chris because of "murder" brings Owen Hart to mind...
@TRLMan Indeed! Of course, Chris was already using the headbutt way before WWE but by not bringing to the light the real cause of death is like they are taking full responsability and want to hide it. I blame it on the sponsors and the PG Era that they cant mention him right now, but Benoit still deserves the HOF and 2013's will take place in Canada. I hope they can see it from a man that gave it all for their company and deserves the respect.
@WolfAngel091 I don't think it's the PG Era that's stopping them from inducting Benoit, in fact I think Benoit's death has a lot to do with the introduction of the PG Era. The WWE doesn't want to take responsibility for the deaths of so many great men who died for their craft, so they bury their memories and use the watered down the PG Era to prevent any more needless deaths. It's a shame they're ignoring great men, but at least they're taking measures to prevent more tragedies.
@WolfAngel091 Thank you. All of their memories should be respected, whether career-wise or personally, like Nancy and Daniel's memories. It was a horrific, unfortunate situation but who are we but mortals to judge? God has the ultimate say. Only He knows everyone that had a hand in it, and by everyone, I am including Benoit's former employers. God bless you.
@tubehows4life your right but another thing that caught my attention was when he said that eddie talked him him out of doin stuff. I wonder....... What if eddie was alive, would benoit actually end up doing that. Idk its hard to think about i wish theyd never died but hey thats life......
And after all.. they saw each other again.. they belong to each other.. I hope both of them are happy. One was murdered, one died naturally. The important is that they are together again.
wow that part where he said "Eddie would always talk him out of" that tells me that maybe if Eddie didnt die, he could have prevented this horrific tragedy!
@skyqueen3 Yes! Its so sad to think that this could have been avoided had Eddie been around. But sadly Eddie died first which I believe messed with Benoit's head quite a bit.
A neurosurgeon has said that Benoit had a brain damage caused from concussions: "Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient."
Benoit was severely brain damaged at the time of his death, seeing as this was only two years before that I think it's safe to assume that he was pretty damaged at this point. Eddie's death was definitely something that caused his decline, it's a terrible shame but at least current wrestlers can learn from this so it can be prevented in future. Always try to look at the positive even when it seems there isn't one.
@fatguyinlittlecoat86 Christ, I love dicks like you that talk crap about things that you have NO knowledge on, It's pathetic, anybody that kills their own family is mentally insane due to the drugs he's pumped through his body all his life, It has nothing to do with his friend dying.
@IceYourPimpHand No but i saw a docomentary about the murder/suicide and the doctors said something about that, but thats just facts so I can be wrong,
It's really weird to see Benoit in videos now. He always seemed so normal and thoughtful and to be told he had the brain of an 80 year old Alzheimer's patient which caused him to murder his own wife, child and then himself... It seems so unreal.
Mental illness is mental illness, the human mind is very fragile. I cannot condemn the man for the murderous actions when his mind snapped, a man who everyone spoke so highly of for 40 odd years before his mind snapped, right down to his close personal friends who knew him best, and even his own family, even the two who got murdered by him by all accounts thought so warmly of him that they called him hubby and daddy.
I dont think people calling him evil are thinking this through very much.
@tubehows4life maybe YOU aren't thinking this through.a lot of wrestlers go through multiple concussions but they don't go around killing people.he didn't just 'snap', he knew damn well what he was doing because he took out a life insurance policy on himself-without Nancy & Daniel being benefited, made up a food poisoning story and kept to that story for two days, AFTER he committed the murders. but yeah, he was really good at fake fighting so let's put him in a damn hall of fame!
@Penicks What the hell is wrong with you? Did you even think when you wrote this?
So you're gonna remember Benoit what he did moments right before he died and not his career as a wrestler?. BTW, did it ever occur to you that his finishing move was the "flying 'headbutt'?" meaning it was done on purpose and no doubt what caused him brain damage. Go watch Chris headbutt Kane from the top of the ladder, come back, and tell me that wasn't painful. /watch?v=_gxN8tCLc8U
@Xfactor12345 murdering his damn wife and seven year old completely devalues anything he did before that. anything. and if you don't think so, if you place professional wrestling above taking two innocent lives, then you are ignorant. he was one of my favourites as well but this guy shouldn't be mentioned ever again.
@Penicks When you lose your mind, you are no longer that person. Something finally snapped in his head that weekend. He had the brain of an 85 year old with senile dementia (dont you get that?), and the physical strength of an ox. Read "Of Mice And Men", You are far to quick to get all high and mighty about this. The people he murdered loved him and he loved them, that doesnt give you a clue? Or are you too much on a disingenuously moral crusade?
@oboyy Yeah he snapped he had mental illness he was paranoid and he had the brain of a 80yr old man with seniel if you look in to the dtory the say that his son dainel was lay facedown on his bed with a bible next to him if you read the bible or something like that it sys that god or someguy laied a deadmans body on hits stomach and did stuck a knife threw there back and the body came back alvive benoit was not in the rite state of mind
@SuperRyder33 yes, also there are not any reports of 80 year old's killing their families either. for two football players and boxers take a HELL of a lot more shots to head then someone faking a flying headbutt.
@Sephirot1994 well duhh you dont hear about 80yr old men killing they family because they to damn old to be killing someone chris was 40 with the brain of a 80yr old man c'mon now and football players play games 2 or 3 times a week and then they get a couple months off wrestlers are on tha road every day of they life they are puting on a show every single night you know how many times a wrestler is off a weak like 2 days you know why its that long because there always on the road.......
@Ichibanhaha Its a good question, I say anybody who is a genocidal monster like those people are by default, mentally ill. While they should be stopped at all costs, they were still once a baby in their mother's arms, with all the hope and optimism for them in the world. Thats the tragedy.
I will say though that those people lived much of their lives that way, whereas Benoit didnt, he was highly respected by everyone, and lost his mind on one tragic weekend after brain damage.
If Eddie Guerrero Didnt Die then Chris Benoit would still be here and they were the best at what they did ….chris could have gone to his best friend but he wasnt there for him to stop him:(
I know nothing excuses what Benoit did and nothing ever will, but I really think Eddie's tragic death contributed in some way to Benoit's mental breakdown. Just look at him here.
R.I.P TO BOTH EDDIE GUERRERO AND CHRIS BENOIT, IF U GUYS WERE STILL HERE WITH US IN THE WWE, WWE WOULD HAVE MORE VIEWERS AND FANS, TRULY MISS U BOTH. DRUGS ARE A BITCH DO NOT USE THEM, THEY HURT U AND PEOPLE AROUND U
Eddie was the one person Benoit could go to with any sort of problem in his life. If Eddie had survived, maybe he would have seen something going on with Benoit, and his whole tragedy might have been averted. Of course, that's all speculation and what-if, but it's definitely something to think about.
Looking at this video now, it's quite hard to watch knowing that this is probably one of the first moments that Benoit started to spiral downwards on the path to what he did on his final few days.
@silentbob82 I agree much, and now Jericho brought his last days back up early this year, is now hard again for me to look at him or hear his name, I still love the guy, but despise what he did, if that's what it was, but what ever was done his last day was done, when our lives ended will find out, I just remember was he was(What I knew em as) and we can continue to live our lives and again good comment homie.
This is the last thing I'm saying I promise! If Vince's grapefruits were half the size he claims they are, he wouldn't keep this silent. Instead of pulling everything Benoit off the shelves and history books, he would take whatever money he received off Benoit's murchandise and open a foundation in the names of Nancy and Daniel to promote steroid abuse and mental disorder awareness. Give the man who gave you all he had at least that much respect. He earned it... He didn't inherit it (ahem)!!
@mommyskittles I'm not sure of the timeline, but Benoit seemed to take Eddie's death very hard. I don't know if that and other things could have contributed to what he did.
Whether it was a sort of thought out suicide or if he snapped and did the unthinkable, I think it's safe to say we can all agree that he was not in his right state of mind when he did this. Depression is a VERY real VERY deadly disease and when u add it to everything else he was batteling it's just a recipe for disaster and unfortunately disaster struck. I loved Benoit in the ring, and I hate that his memory and honor are going to be tarnished because of something he could not control.
I don't know how premeditated it was or even if it was premeditated. However, if he were contemplating suicide, he already had in the back of his mind the torture Eddie's family was going through and he LOVED his family so you know he wouldn't want that on them. So MAYBE (as twisted as it sounds) he murdered his family in an act of compassion. After all, he did give his son xanax so he would be sleeping through it. Ironically what we see as a horrible murder to him he was protecting his family?
That just SOUNDS depressing. Then, his best friend dies, and ya'll saw the clip, this man was devostated! He was playing the domino effect with depression. Only, now he didn't have his best friend to turn to. Everyone has commented on what a private person he was so it's not shock to learn he didn't talk to anyone else about his "issues". You can only shake a coke bottle so much before it explodes. Benoit was that coke bottle and over the course of a weekend he exploded...
that this was in fact what happened. But then, after watching a documentary and the news for days on end, it became very clear that Benoit was batteling all kinds of demons. The abuse of steroids alone causes severe depression. His brain resembled that of an 85yr old demensia patient due to damage done from wrestling, which again causes depression. His marriage was unstable. He lived that lonely life out on the road where nothing but all the wrong things are there to comfort u...
beautifull !

He literally gave everything for the business. I could understand maybe not mentioning him as much as other deceased wrestlers are mentioned but to have him erased like that is just sad.
I guess he'll just have to live forever in the hearts and memories of all us fans.

It's a shame they both are more than likely in different places now
23xtremeenigma 1 month ago
@sbsilvers1 Eddie was the catalyst of spirital guidance and insanity for so many people. Benoit said himself Eddie was his voice of reason whenever he was about to do something stupid or foolish. Eddie was everything to Benoit. Eddie was Benoits' sanity. When he died, Benoit went into a downward spiral and never recovered from it.

WolfAngel091 1 month ago
@WolfAngel091 "cause he made big money for WWE"
Correct, when he was alive and still working a schedule, he was worth something to them. Now they can't put the man in the Hall Of Fame? Tell me, how exactly did Benoit's brain wind up looking like an 85-year-old Alzeimer's patient's brain the year of his death? Oh, that's right, it wasn't WWE, the company that overworks theire wrestlers week to week to earn revenue. *sarcasm* Not enshrining Chris because of "murder" brings Owen Hart to mind...
TRLMan 1 month ago
@TRLMan Indeed! Of course, Chris was already using the headbutt way before WWE but by not bringing to the light the real cause of death is like they are taking full responsability and want to hide it. I blame it on the sponsors and the PG Era that they cant mention him right now, but Benoit still deserves the HOF and 2013's will take place in Canada. I hope they can see it from a man that gave it all for their company and deserves the respect.
WolfAngel091 1 month ago
@WolfAngel091 I don't think it's the PG Era that's stopping them from inducting Benoit, in fact I think Benoit's death has a lot to do with the introduction of the PG Era. The WWE doesn't want to take responsibility for the deaths of so many great men who died for their craft, so they bury their memories and use the watered down the PG Era to prevent any more needless deaths. It's a shame they're ignoring great men, but at least they're taking measures to prevent more tragedies.

I dont think people calling him evil are thinking this through very much.
tubehows4life 2 months ago 94
@tubehows4life maybe YOU aren't thinking this through.a lot of wrestlers go through multiple concussions but they don't go around killing people.he didn't just 'snap', he knew damn well what he was doing because he took out a life insurance policy on himself-without Nancy & Daniel being benefited, made up a food poisoning story and kept to that story for two days, AFTER he committed the murders. but yeah, he was really good at fake fighting so let's put him in a damn hall of fame!
Penicks 2 months ago
@Penicks What the hell is wrong with you? Did you even think when you wrote this?
So you're gonna remember Benoit what he did moments right before he died and not his career as a wrestler?. BTW, did it ever occur to you that his finishing move was the "flying 'headbutt'?" meaning it was done on purpose and no doubt what caused him brain damage. Go watch Chris headbutt Kane from the top of the ladder, come back, and tell me that wasn't painful. /watch?v=_gxN8tCLc8U
people can be so ignorant.
Xfactor12345 2 months ago
@Xfactor12345 murdering his damn wife and seven year old completely devalues anything he did before that. anything. and if you don't think so, if you place professional wrestling above taking two innocent lives, then you are ignorant. he was one of my favourites as well but this guy shouldn't be mentioned ever again.
Penicks 2 months ago
@Penicks When you lose your mind, you are no longer that person. Something finally snapped in his head that weekend. He had the brain of an 85 year old with senile dementia (dont you get that?), and the physical strength of an ox. Read "Of Mice And Men", You are far to quick to get all high and mighty about this. The people he murdered loved him and he loved them, that doesnt give you a clue? Or are you too much on a disingenuously moral crusade?

I will say though that those people lived much of their lives that way, whereas Benoit didnt, he was highly respected by everyone, and lost his mind on one tragic weekend after brain damage.

I loved Benoit in the ring, and I hate that his memory and honor are going to be tarnished because of something he could not control.
mommyskittles 4 months ago
I don't know how premeditated it was or even if it was premeditated. However, if he were contemplating suicide, he already had in the back of his mind the torture Eddie's family was going through and he LOVED his family so you know he wouldn't want that on them. So MAYBE (as twisted as it sounds) he murdered his family in an act of compassion. After all, he did give his son xanax so he would be sleeping through it. Ironically what we see as a horrible murder to him he was protecting his family?
mommyskittles 4 months ago
That just SOUNDS depressing. Then, his best friend dies, and ya'll saw the clip, this man was devostated! He was playing the domino effect with depression. Only, now he didn't have his best friend to turn to. Everyone has commented on what a private person he was so it's not shock to learn he didn't talk to anyone else about his "issues". You can only shake a coke bottle so much before it explodes. Benoit was that coke bottle and over the course of a weekend he exploded...
mommyskittles 4 months ago
that this was in fact what happened.
