chen xiaowangs is not "more elastic" he is stiff in my opinion like doing yang forms on the other hand ma hong style is very fluid and smooth i wish his red book get to come to usa in english that would be nice "jijifa"
I love Taijiquan:) Every person who does it adds their own flavor--this is different from what I've been exposed to but I can still see the skill is amazing. +1 =)
No matter how many times I watch this video, my jaw still drops again and again. The combination of such amazing gong-fu at such an old age is astounding. Of the 7 billion on earth, how many manage to attain such skill and perfection in their lifetime?
wery impressive. i've read ma hong's books and met his students many years ago. now i just saw him perform for the first time! ha, he went off the carpet! ;) his style is very distinctive
This is amazing. The way in which he maintains flawless alignment is outstanding. Just look at the position of his knees in relation to his toes no matter how low the stance.
Ma Hong is very well known in China. Very impressive to be able to do all those low stances at his age. However no need to exaggerate as being the best.
I believe his whole theme is that he refuses to change to less martial but more attractive forms. You can see the difference in his clear presentation.
you are absolutely correct. In one of his books, he states that many have asked to create shorter for, he states uncategorically, that he would never do such a thing.
MaHong is really great. I have read some of his writings and know some of his biography. He started practicing taiji becaus of ill health and exhuastion. He has survived through the cultural revolution. Despite these events in his life, his form, health and fitness rivals that of much younger people. I hope to meet him in Hebei one day also. From his writings also seems humble and a very ardent promoter of traditional taijiquan
i love when teacher who i never hear of come on here.a lot of them put the famous one to shame .and i know are not greedy for money but for people who want to learn the art.need more teacher like mr hong
OMG!OMG!OMG! Thank you so much, that is so awesome! That is amazingly cool! THANK YOU taijitiajiquan! THANK YOU taijitiajiquan! THANK YOU taijitiajiquan! THANK YOU taijitaijiquan! THANK YOU taijitaijiquan!
You're very welcome. Ma Hong is a truly great man. I visited him this year in Hebei and he welcomed me to his home; he was very humble and modest about his taijiquan. Keep in mind as well that he's 76 in the video. He made some great teaching videos back in the 90's; search them out to see what taiji looks like when it's performed by someone who perhaps is not as famous as the other masters, but who put his hear into it for the pure enjoyment and science of the art.
do you know about feng zi quan he is also good at chen style for his age and very powerful but why not so much info on him like the 4 tigers actually he is older than most of them i think and they regard him as big brother please share your thoughts about this. since you live in chine perhaps you know feng is more popular over there than over here in the states.
he's not a man ! he's an alien, i'm sure

What about age - nothing extraordinary. Ex. Da Shi had won fight on swords in his 161 years. What about mastery - certainly -his skills are nice!
