I remember after the game hearing that although Penn State's offense now has a flashy name, the Spread HD, the defense won it and that the defense didn't have a cool name. I thought to myself after hearing that, "actually, they do, the same cool name they've had since the 60s, Linebacker U, and Linebacker U schooled the Ohio State offense that day". PSU looked great compared to OSU's USC game. If you actually watched the Rose Bowl PSU was playing pretty well. There were some key COSTLY penalities in the first half and the second quarter fell apart. That zone secondary wasn't helping at all. But most of the game was pretty good and PSU played fantastic in the second half. I'm not going to say it was close but it was better than the score and it was a LOT better than OSU's death by USC.
Also, had Penn State not made those silly penalties and mistakes in the second quarter, it would have been a lot closer and they might have even won that game. Late in the game, after Penn State made it interesting, I remember sitting there and expecting another miracle like 2005 Northwestern, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
That's true, often the better team doesn't win (see Penn State vs Iowa 2008), but on the other hand, that's part of the excitement of football, and without it, you wouldn't have classics such as 1986 PSU vs Miami or the 2002 OSU vs Miami game.

PSU looked great compared to OSU's USC game. If you actually watched the Rose Bowl PSU was playing pretty well. There were some key COSTLY penalities in the first half and the second quarter fell apart. That zone secondary wasn't helping at all. But most of the game was pretty good and PSU played fantastic in the second half. I'm not going to say it was close but it was better than the score and it was a LOT better than OSU's death by USC.

Also, had Penn State not made those silly penalties and mistakes in the second quarter, it would have been a lot closer and they might have even won that game. Late in the game, after Penn State made it interesting, I remember sitting there and expecting another miracle like 2005 Northwestern, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

That's true, often the better team doesn't win (see Penn State vs Iowa 2008), but on the other hand, that's part of the excitement of football, and without it, you wouldn't have classics such as 1986 PSU vs Miami or the 2002 OSU vs Miami game.

Well I live in Toledo and I would say people in Ohio are just as obsessed with the Browns as they are with the Buckeyes. But you dont have a problem with that? Why wouldnt people in Cleveland or Cincinnati be fans? this is a huge football state. And Ohio State is the only really major college football team in this state (unlike states like Florida or Alabama wheres there is several major college football teams to like). And there are a LOT of Michigan and Notre Dame fans where I live.

Yes, Pryor could be great.
But Penn State will only lose their wide-outs, a few offensive lineman (the biggest loss), and only two players on Defense.
The entire D-line next year will be PHENOMENAL!!! And Buckus candidate Sean Lee will be back!
On offense we will still have Clark, Royster and Quarless.
Plus, this season will most likely reign in BIG recruits!

Penn State loses more than 2 players on D bud. We lose our entire starting secondary. Scirrotto, Sargeant, davis and mark rubin are all seniors. We also lose Josh gaines on D line
