GEORGE WASHINGTON WAS NOT THE FIRST PRESIDENT of the United States. He was the 8th President of the United States
John Hansen. The Maryland delegate to the Continental Congress was elected president in 1781, just before the time of Lord Cornwallis's surrender at Yorktown, Virginia.
His official title was "President of the United States Assembled"

Manchewl if General Washington hadn't done what we did instead of learning everday at 12:00 we'd be driniking tea and eating scones of which are bought by our parents hard earned money and sent to improve England not America. England is a terrific country, but we shouldn't have to pay them taxes when we don't live there.
@schnauzerlover1496 You do know that the Taxes Parliament tried to make the colonists pay were for the upkeep and defense of the Colonies dont you? The debt of the French and Indians wars were being paid off by British Tax-payers, the money that would have been raise from the colonies would have been spent on maintaining a standing army on the frontier to protect settlers from Indians and visa verse and to provide a policing force for the colonies.
@schnauzerlover1496 Anyway the main grievance the Colonist had with Parliament was not over taxation - and certainly not about representation. The Colonies believed that Parliament had no legal right to exersize any authority over them and that they were only answerable to the King. So when Parliament rejected the Colonists ideas of self-governance and tried to exersize the power it believed it had over the Colonies the rift was formed and widened.
@manchewl He killed socialist dictators who taxed people into poverty. What is your problem with that? You yourself would be suffering from poverty under the rule of king george III. Why would you support that? Are you a masocist? I think so.
@Jeremymayer Like most Americans, you are arrogant enough to think you know about Britain's government during this time, but you actually know fuck-all about George III, or the government. I bet they don't teach you in American schools that the colonists were still toasting the king DURING the revolutionary war, because they were allied to him against the British parliament.
Its kind of interesting this independece war came around time of French Revolution as well. It tells how much the literacy of education can impact whole society.
lol!! the German guy said the the feminine form of American...They were kind of lax on some of their research, but I'll give them slack because it's a kid's film
No, it just sounded similar, cause he had a bad accent. i know, I'm German. The first guy talks good German but the second one propably just had to learn it by heart. Still it#s a good kid's movie.

@Pourleduc he said 'Amerikanerin' or 'Amerikaneren'. Both are wrong. There were no female soldiers and 'Amerikaneren' doesn't exist.
