The AFTERLIFE is where they all went after they died("some died before Jack.. some LONG after him"). When Jack died on the island... he died for real... how could that be the afterlife PLUS the afterlife Jack discovers? Seriously people need to think about that for a second.

@ka2eeba No, they were not all dead from the beginning.

Some of them died before Jack (like Charlie).

Some of them died long after Jack.

But they all met up in the same "place" after they died (a place they created) because there "is no time here", because the most important part of their lives was spent together, and because they wanted to find (find? get it?) each other before they moved on.

For those who still did not get it, the island was real everything that took place on the island was real, they lived in pergatry as in where you see jack fixing johns legs, jack having a kid, sawyer being a copper, Ben could not forgive himself for what he did on the island so would not enter when hugo asked him, basically they all went to a so called better place, I think john locke should have had more screening at the end he was by far the best of all Lost Characters
