Bravo, bravo! Maggie Smith... a consummate actress... and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie was one of her best! Thank you, Rod McKuen, for this lovely ballad.
MAGGIE SMITH is really a terrific actress. Her performance in THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE,was genius! Seeing her, years later,in the "HARRY POTTER" movies,is a real treat.I just wish, she had more screen time,in the movies. ROD MCKUEN's lyrics are timeless,a true american poet!
So stunning. Does anyone have a clip of "Travels With My Aunt"? Maggie had a shimmering, quicksilver beauty in her youth, that impish sidelong smile. She was amazing as the half-batty Scottish teacher in "Miss Jean Brodie".She made the film even better than the book. I think the song "Jean" was written by Rod McKeun (spelling?) but not sure. A great actress. A great memory.

it's so sad that music which is beautiful gets so few views, however videos with really no musical worth - bieber, black ehemm- get millions.

She is amazing. Even now that she's old, she has that air about her that most 76 year olds don't have. ya know?

I don't know who sings this song but it's The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie music
loveth31 3 years ago
@loveth31 The poet Rod Mckeun sings the song "Jean" which he wrote as the title track for "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie".
The late Oliver recorded the song and it was one of the biggest hits in 1971. Hope this helps.

Hi again :-) - We'll never be done, won't we?
It is so funny watching Jean Brodie these days: she really moves like a 40 years younger Minerva McGonagall
