The station had been reopened in this episode? That's quite an appropriate theme! Many old railroad stations have been restored similarly throughout the 90's, and many are continuing to be restored!
It's so strange to have not watched this or even thought about this show in 20 years but seeing this now brings back a rush of memories. I remember those murals on the wall and that red suit. Wow, life goes fast.
Wow, take me back down memory lane why dont you lol! I have not seen this show in 20 years, the Jukebox puppets were my favorite, thanks so much for posting this!
Man, this brings back the memories like no other, this show and the Thomas the Tank Engine series. Funny thing is, as a little kid, I knew Ringo Starr as 'The Conductor' before I knew him as the drummer for The Beatles.
Why did they cut out the ending outro jingle at the end of the Thomas gets tricked ep? They leave it in when the george carlin mr. Conductor tell this story again in Stacy forgets her name.
my son watchs movie all the time loves it just loves it the movie is meant for kids anyway not adults give it a chanes it a cute movie for them i watched a few shows when i was young. yeah its a shame now adays about all these new ones just rueing it all its sad but good at same time times change nothing we can do about it
@RTPye117 Silly goose you. I was just trying to make you laugh by saying how could the times of STS airing on Nick Jr. not be good even though they were good times.
I was also at The Walk of Fame and saw Ringo getting his star there. I waved to him and i think he pointed back to me my dad thinks so too. It was one of the greatest nights of my life. I love you Ringo Starr and your lovely wife Barbara Bach too. Peace & Love. :)
I think i met Didi Conn once when i was about 2 or 3 and my dad was with me.
I think she use to live i my neighborhood in the Pacific Palisades where i live.
I think my dad told me i met her and he was with me.
Anyway I love Didi Conn, Ringo Starr Britt Allcroft Thomas the Tank Engine & Shining Time Station. I use to watch this show all the time when it was on PBS and i was a really little boy.
@finnishminnow I don't know, Thomas and Friends just doesn't have the same feel as Shining Time Station does. For one, they got rid of the Conductor and for two, it doesn't teach morals and values the way Shining Time Station did.
Wow, watching that nickel roll down into the jukebox sure brings back memories. I remember that as a kid I always wanted my hair to look like the puppet drummer, DiDi. I almost forgot about that until today! Thanks so much for uploading this! To this day, Ringo is still my favorite Beatle!
As a small child this was my absolue favorite tv show. It has so many memories in it that i want to cry and cuddle up in the living room at home and feel the warmth of my mom's hug. Those were the good days.
@Kleman09 I agree with you completely... The "Man With His Head On Backwards" episode and the Christmas ones were big highlights for me. My brother and I loved this show... my uncle taped a lot of them for us, which brings back great memories, too.
All I have to say is...thank you so much!!! Now i can share this series with my son. I loved it so much when I was a kid...helped me through some tough times....
Matt, Stacy, Tanya and Harry arrive at Shining Time Station. They find out that the station is an old, but very special place. "Like they say, there is just something about this place..."
Back when i was little this was my favorite tv show. when they took it off air i remember how i was so angry. Great show and truly american and canadian with a little European.
How long........ How long has it been. I loved this show when I was little. I would sit in front of the TV every time this came on and I wouldn't move away. Thank you for uploading this.
yeah. Ringo Starr was Mr. Conductor for a bit. the Halloween episode is, i think, the first one George Carlin is in. i could be wrong, though. But Starr was Mr. Conductor in the beginning
Yes this was the pilot/first episode of Shining Time Station. It also hold the distinction of being the final episode of television that childrens composer Joe Raposo (of Sesame Street fame) worked on before he died.
Swear to god, this is the best show I've ever seen in my childhood life! I hope the first season will come out on DVD pretty soon that I could watch it almost everyday. ;)
Let's see, I love the theme song. I LOVE both conductors, but would rather hear Mr. Ringo sing, than Mr. Carlin tell an off-color joke. Didi has a perfect character voice. She's a doll!
Hmm... I didn't know that "Shining Time Station" came on after "Carmen Sandiego". I never watched this as a child, my family got rid of the TV when I was born, and the show was already off PBS for a bit (as far as I know.)
Discovering it now, with a bit of reminiscing from my older siblings, and...
I love it. It's my greatest sadness that I can't buy these on DVD...(
(If any one knows of a place I can get them on DVD, even if it's really low quality, please let me know.)
