I heard BC&S do this song and sung it for years until I moved to Los Angeles and had the chance to sing with the Messengers and Reverend Cleveland. It was then that I found that Reverend James Cleveland wrote this song. It surprised me because I never heard him perform it.

Donald Vails was from Metro-Atlanta and back in the 1960's he played for the choir (Laster Chapel)which was then located a block from Frienship when it was located on that street.

What an awesome man of God Rev. Dr. Donald Vails was I had the privaledge to sit under his mininstry we he was at Ebenezer A.M.E as the music director, the stories and the ministry was just amazing, i still miss it today..
