I jammed to this song pretending to be kiss along with my friends back in the mid 70"s -I loved kiss then - and still do - and always will! KISS RULES!
I remember the first time I played this song, "Black Diamond" in '77 man. I was blown away with the ending. I was a KISS addict back then, and I was only 15.
ive been a fan since i was like born hahaha i was a kiss baby now im 12 haha 6 autographs and 10,000$ dollars in merchandise!!! the autographs are from tommy, 2 from eric singer and bruce paul and gene i guess you could say im a pretty lucky kid??
As a hard core KISS/Ace Frehley fan...if I HAD to choose which KISS song was my favorite, I'd have to choose this one, only AFTER '100,000 Years.'
A close second would 'Shock Me' and 'Let Me Go Rock & Roll' as close seconds and thirds...not necessarily in that order because of Ace's guitar solos.
@KittenKaboodles405 aye, this track definately the best thing they ever wrote on what was simply a brilliant debut album. still hasnt been beat as far as im concerned!
I just discovered this song because I'm an X Japan fan... and Yoshiki made the last track of the tribute album "Kiss My Ass" ... he even played it in front of the Emperor for his anniversary... hehe I can see the influence, the drummer crossing his sticks forming an X... and drestroying his drums and stuff :D good stuff... and you're right to say they had a huge influence... even as far as Japan where an entire generation of rockers tried to emulate them for a while... ^-^
This was the first record I ever listened to. When I was 10 years old, I found this in my dad's collection, put on this record and some headphones, and my life forever changed. It still rocks just as hard today, as it did 20 some odd years ago, and will till the end of my days.
@skimbap Wtf are you on. Peter sings pretty dece but how does he have the best voice. Have you not Seen Kiss Unplugged were paul sings hard luck woman instead of Peter. Way better peter has one of the worst voices in the band. Still a great voice but the only member worse than him who sings would be ace in my mind.
say what u want, wont change the fact that black diamond and hard luck woman are my 2 favorite songs by kiss, and that peter has the best voice "in my mind"
why is it that live is so much better in the 70's all the songs are like so simple. then in the 80's on they get a lot more complex. i guess because ace and peter left.
you guys trying to analyse...just close your eyes and let yourself come back in time

This is Paul McCartney's favorite KISS song,i remember him saying it on
the Johnny Carson Show years and years age. Johnny had asked him what
he thought about KISS,i guess that he knew who they were, and had a favorite
song by them was a suprise to Mr Carson!
