I gotta say, I much prefer listening to the motor to decide when to shift, but in my E46 M3 the dash is kind of nice because it moves the redline as the car warms up. Also with it being my first M3 I was not prepared for how high it actually revs, so it's nice for the car to let me know it's okay to wind the piss out of it. - The steering wheel thing in this vid is way over the top though!

I love my SMG gear box, but yeah, the steering wheel is unnecessary IMO, however, that's why it's an accessory. You don't have to get it unless you want it.

I've just noticed since BMWs are beginning to be manufactured in the US, is about the time they're throwing the "naturally aspired power" reputation out the window, by throwing in turbos and launch controls and other similar features which makes it simple for the average joe who cant drive.

BMW is a business, they want money.

To keep up with the rest of the industry they need this technology. It keeps the average buyer happy.

The twin turbo engines allow for lots of power (for us car fanatics) but at the same time good gas mileage (which is a big thing today)

I think BMW has done a good job at making cars that fit the needs and wants of every buyer

its an original performance steering wheel its shows the rpm limit when to shift in the next gear, and you can set it by yourself for your perfect shift rpm, it also shows you your sprint time 0-100 kmh or 0-60 mph, and other thinks, like the bordcomputer, ~ 980€

I know they handle amazingly and I know the track was the inspiration when designing and building it. You might put all sorts of suspension upgrades and other performance bolt on components and then drive it on the track but it's still a road car. If you spend a couple hundred grand you can make it into a race car.

for your info each light gives u 200 hp so u can tell from the other right givin u 200 more hp when the flashing starts means ur going hyper speed mode at 3000 mph :)

135 was fast but short wheelbase is twitchy on highway as Z4.

it depends, in europe most people prefer diesel because is a short diference in the final price and diesel is not so expensive than the petrol and is more "economical", e can tell you that the engine on 335d is very very fast but sometimes have problems in the turbos because like in the 335i have 2. you refer to the new Z4 35i with DKG?

The Z4 is twitchy, understeer then oversteers in corners.

3.0L Z4 270hp is work to drive, unlike 330ci or Porsche 944T or M3.

I don't think Z4 has a proper LSD, it's traction control BS.

the 650 coupe and conv were big disappointment in corners, nose heavy oversteer , DSC kills rear power in turns even when turned off :(
