It seems to be: DOWN up DOWN UP down UP DOWN UP

where the words in CAPITALS are where you touch the strings. Remember, your hand should have a constant rhythm moving up and down.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting it exactly as in the video. Get your right hand going so that you feel the rhythm. If it's different to the one in the lesson, that's good too - you're developing your own style!

The scratching was just to show the rhythm pattern of the song, when you're actually playing just play the strings without scratching. There are a couple of stops between some of the chords instead of the downstroke, but worry about that once you've mastered the rest of the song.

1. For the strum pattern there are 4 beats, you need to count (one and two and three and four and).

2. Strum in the air as you count for all the beats.

3. So you will be playing down up down up down up down up

4. Now only play the strings for the parts in brackets:

(down) up (down) (up) down (up) (down) (up)
