Sweet home isn't exactly in the same genre as this game. Sweet home is basically just a Horror rpg. Unless there is any other game like this one that was released before, this one is the first of its kind. Don't 3D or 2D me here or there..

i thought it was sweet home. that game was made in 1989 and its a survival horror game. it was made in japan, but it never made it to the US. probably the reason why it wasnt documented as the first survival horror game.

Shame the video (or, rather, the poster's emulation of the game) wasn't better quality. Doesn't really do the game justice. Darn to I have fond memories of this gem- scariest of the trilogy bar none and an excellent tribute to H.P. Lovecraft's variety of horror.
