Advise: Don't use craft or sewing lace for wig making. Its definitely not the same type of lace. Wig lace is incorporated with a fibre similar to fishing line or some even have very thin metal incorporated into it to give it strength. The 1st lace I made was w/craft lace. After all that work, it was full of holes after wearing a only a few times. Since then I just invest in the real thing but that varies too but at least your unit will last longer.

some hair supply shops are starting to sell indian hair for wig making, you can try there if not there are sooo many vendors online that sell I don't even know where to tell you to start but u can compare prices then do your research, like googles searches to see if there are any complaints regarding that particular company so you don't get scammed

Hi there,i just love all the information you has given us about LW.I was on the E-BAY SITE today. and I can not find the knotting needle or the (ventilating needle) on there. I really don't know if that's the actual name for it.can you give me more info. on where and what to look for.and is there any other place or site i can go on. I would love to make my own Lace wig. definately check out ebay first, they sell needles and needle holders for ventilating. You can also find lace for frontals and units on ebay as well.

Thank you for mentioning scrap hair! I recently spent a ton of money and the lace wig was beautiful, but I found out is was made with scrap hair. People need to know that many vendors will do this to get your money!

From researching lace wigs hair processing and other people's experiences with scrap or floor hair. I washed it once and it began the matting process. It matted and tangled, so I washed it again and used a deep conditioner and shampoo and it became more and more tangled. After 3 shampooes it became hard as a rock! the more water and conditioner I added, the more the wig "knotted" up.
