  • Hey all... I'm making these last minute. I couldnt find any bittersweet bakers chocolate for some reason so I bought semi-sweet. I don't really know the difference between the two to judge but is it possible to make these with the semi-sweet? If so, what should I adjust to compensate for the lack of bittersweet? Thanks

  • @teemell19 you can use semi-sweet chocolate, but maybe use a little bit less sugar, as semi-sweet chocolate is a lot sweeter than bittersweet chocolate. hope that still helps you!

  • @SBryantA Leave out the salt in the recipe. The down side with using salted butter is that you can't control the amount of salt you put in the recipe.

    7 ounces of Bittersweet Chocolate, melted

    1 Cup of Sugar

    2 tsp of Vanilla Extract

    ¼ tsp of Salt

    1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

    2 Large Eggs

    2 Tbsp of warm Water

    1 tsp of Instant Espresso Powder

    2/3 Cup of All Purpose Flour

  • This recipe is absolutely amazing!!! The baking time might be less (I think my oven bakes them in about 38 minutes). They come out reaaaaaaally fudgy, the only thing is the top is not too crispy. But this is my go-to brownie recipe!!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!

    You can leave out the expresso, it just enhances the chocolate flavor. I never use it and my brownies turn out amazing.

    It's probably not a good idea to substitute olive oil for butter. Olive oil has an olive-y taste that's great on garlic bread, salads and pasta. But, I don't think it would Be a good idea unless you like brownies with a slight taste olives.

  • hi i really love the brownies i have made them twice and everybody love them but i am just wondering if i can substitute the butter for olive oil? if so do you know how much should i use? i have made your chocolate chip muffins and id like to use olive oil on those too i just dont know if it would change the flavor thanks oh the flan you created its great i used to make it differently with more eggs but your version changed my recepie :)
