That wouldn't be a bad idea, but I prefer a more general use Mantine. Mine runs Confuse Ray/Toxic/Hydro Pump/Ice Beam. It switches into special attackers that can't Thunderbolt it like SpecsMence.
Unlucky about those moves missing, but that happens sometimes. I've always preferred Surf over Hydro Pump on any pokemon to be honest, I don't like the possibility of Hydro Pump missing at a critical time, like it happened here
well sometimes there are times where hydro pump is perferred say you are faster and they still have enough to just survive from surf and you had 1 hp left, you would surf and they would attack and lose or you risk hydro pump and either hit and win or lose but at least you have an option :)
@ AngeloBlaze: There are a couple of reasons for my choosing Hydro Pump over Surf. One reason is because Mantine has really mediocre Sp. Atk, so the extra power is handy like DangerousLiquid said, though it does have the undesirable side effect of occasionally missing. Another reason is because I play Double Battles from time to time as well, and I don't want to be hurting my own party Pokemon with Surf.
But in argument with your points, extra power isn't handy if you miss and it screws up the game for you. Low accuracy moves have a tendency to screw me over, so I prefer not using them unless I have to.
Yeah, I can understand that. But even so, it's notable that Gunk Shot is almost always preferred over Poison Jab on Arbok because of the rather large power difference. Surf on Mantine makes sense because it's supposed to stall somewhat, though, and I might have used it if I wasn't taking doubles into consideration.
Wow, that was an impressive Murkrow. I can't believe how much potential she squeezed out of that one. I wonder if she chose Sucker Punch because she knew your Rotom has a Choice Scarf or because she didn't have much confidence in her own Murkrow's Speed.
What I dont get is Skuntank using Return on Mantine. I can't figure that out other than anticipating a switch.
Looks like marinaneon2 has one of those teams that shouldn't be taken so lightly, even if you could exploit the fact that 4 of her Pokémon are weak against Electric-Type attacks. I wonder what the 3rd Pokémon that she used during this battle was.
Shame that mantine cant learn roost .

What does you Mantine do? I was thinking you could run it with a Wacan Berry and Max HP+SpDef, then Mirror Coat Thunderbolts all over the place, lol.

Ah, fair enough if it's for Doubles.

Why not keep them both? One for steady attacking and one for sweeping.

wow how a battle can change just because of one missed gunkshot you could have killed murkrow and still have arbok for earthquake on stinky lol
DangerousLiquid 4 years ago
Wow, you're right. I didn't even notice that. XD But don't forget about Sucker Punch, which *might* have still KO'd Arbok.

Thing is that Mantine was SimChao's last Pokémon.

I'm pretty sure she knew I had Choice Scarf, since I Tricked one to Snorlax in one of my other videos.

She is definitely not to be taken lightly. I was highly impressed with the way she played in all of our battles.
