I had wondered which band member sang this when I first heard it... the distortion in the album recording is awesome and I thought it might have been Stephin Merritt doing some really wacky vocal experiments.

Lovely song! They opened their concert in Gothenburg June 28 with it - and ended with "Book of love". What an experience to see this band live.
