I think he should'nt send Anakin with THIS order to Temple. He should'nt kill younglings and infants. Knights, Padawans, Masters - but not them.

I think even dumbest Wookie knew infants in the cribs can't to be traitors of Republic and younglings from first lightsaber's class ca'nt plot any murder.

Think of how quickly he manipulated the Senate and the Jedi Council with a smile on his face as he said his loyalty was for the Republic and Democracy. he was a skilled speaker, which hasn't been seen. And then in one move destroyed the Jedi.

@Goobermanlawl Yeah, the battle against Windu clearly shows Sidious starting to toy with him about a min in to stall for time until Anakin arrived. Also, when he was on the ground, he could have easily blown away Windu's saber using the Lightning like he did to Yoda. Then he could have killed him without Anakin's help if it was necessary. Sidious is definitely an awesome villian.  My favorite villian of all time is Albert Wesker but Sidious is a very, very close second.

Some say that video game characters Nihilius and Revan are more powerful than him, some say that Sidious was defeated by Windu, and some say Yoda was more powerful than him. As far as I'm concerned, all are incorrect. Sidious is the most powerful Sith of all time, he feigned defeat against Windu to help convert Anakin to the Darkside, and while Yoda was close to him in power, Yoda was ultimately weaker in the end.

I would LOVE there to be a video game just about Sidious... I'd love to know more about his background and how he became so powerful, etc. That, and playing as him would rule... they could even probably make it a joint game with the histories of both Sidious and Yoda up until the events of EP 1.

@navylaks2 Palpatine's worse. At least Satan fell; he has a history, and it's one of revenge. Palpatine is evil just because that's the best he can do. That's the only thing he's interested in and the only thing that can satisfy him. Just like Ian McDiarmid said: "I imagine he's evil from birth, which is a terrible thing to imagine."

@aweskermkh12 Sidious knew what he was doing. He reorganized a corrupt republic into a galactic totalitarian empire for rectification. The Empire he built also boosted the galactic economy as massive recruitment programs were implemented around the galaxy for imperial strength. Galactic crime rates also decreased as hutts, bounty hunters and mercs were under his control. Plus he helped anakin aka darth vadar fulfill the prophecy of bringing balance to the force. Luke acted as a catalyst.

@MrJavierEscuela Yes, he did accomplish those things through the Empire but those were only secondary achievements to his goal of unlimited power for himself. To achieve his main objective, Sidious is also guilty of mass genocide, destroying entire planets, and being completely responsible for the entirety of the Clone Wars. His death did bring balance to the force but if he would have survived, the force would have continued to be firmly rooted in the Dark Side.

Was there a reason he didn't send an army of those loyal clones with anakin to mustafar to protect him from getting his limbs chopped off? How did Revan crush the republic. Sidious is the only sith to do this. He wiped out the Jedi order which was the republics backbone. He even broke it apart in to and controled both sides, then took complete control after he left the galaxy in ruins. No sith can compare.

fine, there are different thoughts to what Revan did.But palps was smart in what he did, ordering the production of the clone army, and engineering the war to his plans. unfortunetly manipulation was his best subject. where Revan could beat palp in a duel, by far, palp took more time then revan would in gaining his power.

He would beat Palpatine in a duel? Where did you come to this conclusion? Yoda was stated to be the most powerful foe the darkness had ever known but was unable to defeat Palpatine. Palpatine killed 3 of some of the finest swordsmen in jedi history. Revan is an unknown character, and he does not have much to his name, other than he was powerful, but we don't know how powerful exactly. Game mechanics are not canon, only the story behind it, and not much detail is given about Revan.

darth revan never crushed the republic, that was just an alternate ending on kotor lol. the original ending is that his forces are crushed along with the star forge with the republic claiming victory and rebuilding while revan was never to be seen again. we will discover more of what happened to him in the upcoming mmo swtor hopefully.

Yes, many Sith have created their own empires. But no one ruled an empire in such complete control of the galaxy as Sidious. The only one that come close is the New Sith Empire, which Sidious is referring to when he says "Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy!".
