Yeah I tried them- I was pleasantly surprised! Had them a couple of times, but they give you really whiffy breath lol. Wasn't too keen on frogs legs but I think it was more of a mental thing . Absolutely LOVED Paris, and Versailles - wish I didn't have to come home :)

Tried it so many ways aside from the classic. First, I was a little uncomfortable with the idea, but seeing my dad eating them game the push of confidence. They turned out to be great. Different, rubbery like calamari, with its own unique taste (no, they don't taste like chicken), but ultimately great. Very healthy too. None of that saturated fat or cholesterol, high protein level, easily digestible. Definitely recommend it.

We've had escargot many places in France and it's usually very good. We've also had escargot in the States and it was just OK but edible. We went on a cruise once and ordered escargot and we spit them out they tasted so bad. Like anything escargot can be excellent or horrible depending on a lot of things.

I thought the same thing about escargot (YUCK!). I then went to a field trip to a French Restaurant (Mon Ami Gabi) for our French class and I was shocked by how good it was! You can dip your bread in the juice (dunno its name) and it's like a warm oil on your bread. I swear it tastes almost like chicken (someone else here said it too). It's not bad at all! I can't eat it now as I became a vegetarian...
