  • great build :)

  • how did you get the srt to work?

  • @KazaMagaza out of the box it wouldn't work. I had to download the latest Intel Rapid Storge Technology from Asus' web page. From there you have to enable raid before you install the OS (if your SSD is bigger than 64Gb you might consider partitioning if off to something SRT can handle) Then you install the OS, enable SRT and there you go.

  • @honitsten ohhhh, i didnt know that i had to put it into raid mode :(, thanks for telling me :)

  • Cool! How about it PCMark Vantage? I can't wait you show us.

  • @frank19961248 I was just thinking about buying that. I ran CrystalDiskMark on it. Read: 222.7 mb/s (seq), Write 89.14 mb/s (seq).

The write speeds aren't very fast but the read speeds are fantastic.

  • if your gonna use a ssd why would you use anything other than windows 7? windows 7 comes with TRIM support

  • @TheRushfx I am using Windows 7, I said Vista by mistake. I put an Annotation bubble on the screen correcting my mistake.

  • can i use it for porn

  • Awesome build, similiar to what I have planned but I might get X79/Sandy Bridge E and Corsair H100

  • yeah sorry i missed the cooler lol do they have an updated version of the software online? i'm planning on doing a whole new build with this board, the i7 2600k,8 gigs crucial balistix tracer ram, coolermaster v10, antec quatro 1200 watts psu,and 2x gtx 570's by asus...... so i'm trying to reserch as much as i can before :) thanks for the response

  • @paintbrawl I think they do. I looked on Asus's website for and saw it there. I my opinion, I would find other ways to achieve what the software is supposed to do. It was fun at first to look at all the temps, OCs and fan speeds all in one place. Have fun and good luck with your build. I hope you post a video of it. I'd like to see how it turns out.

  • how ya liken that board? and why dont you get a nice aftermarket cooler like the coolermaster v10 :)

  • @paintbrawl I like it a lot. Only grip I have is the AI Suite II software that comes with it. I did get an after market cooler. I have the Corsair H70 CPU watercooler. I have the rad attached to the rear 120mm exhaust. I'm thinking of replacing 4 fans with Thermalright's TY-140 fans. Two on the top exhaust port and the the two on the Corsair H70 rad to make it silent. Possibly modding the bottom for a fifth TY-140.

  • Hey Garst. Uber lame. Hello?

  • i enjoy these videos cant wait to see your final build..

  • then why did you search for a video about building a computer garst350z?! you sound like a big fuckin chode and you just contradicted yourself dumbass!

  • No offense man....but why would anyone give a f&*( what you're putting in your gaming PC?....just another user polluting Youtube's library of videos with useless s&*$

  • @garst350z None taken, I like to show off what I have. Its as simple as that. If you don't like my content you can give it a thumbs down. Not all of the content I post here appeals to everyone.

  • What's so good about the Caviar Black 1TB Harddrive?

  • "USB 3.0 cables"?? I thought z68 chipset didn't have USB 3.0 but SATA 3.0, am I wrong? :/

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx The motherboard does have USB 3.0 on it. You can check out Linus Tech Tips for his unboxing on the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro. They both have the same usb 3.0 headers and the same number of usb 3.0 in the rear IO as well. My corsair case only has the cables that plug into the back USB 3.0 ports though. I'm thinking about getting the header adapter for it though so I can free up the rear ports.

  • @TheLionManRS No I took out two sticks and I'm only running with 8gb of ram now.

  • YES, YES, YES...more video's!..lol Looks like a nice rig you're building there...looking forward to more updates...

  • I HAVE THE SAME BOARD AND THE SAME CPU!!! :D

  • @pedrok60 I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on it but it is an upgrade from my old gaming PC. It is faster in every way so far.

  • @honitsten Hell YEAH!, it's overclocked?

  • Mate you can't use an 80gig SSD for SRT... it's too big! Use it as a boot drive instead :)

  • @minilm92 I did use it for SRT and it works fine. I was considering using an Intel 510 series 240 gig SSD instead but I was scared it would be DOA or fail on me. This way if the SSD fails I can at least disable the cacheing and still boot into windows on the HDD. Thanks for the tip anyways

  • @minilm92 I'm an running this on maximized. I have it hooked up to a UPS lest a power outage occurs . It will run my PC for 15 minutes. More than enough time to shut it down. sorry for removing your last comment.

  • @honitsten lol its ok mate. You going to do anything with regards to your SSD? The UPS+Maximised combo is a good idea though :)

  • @minilm92 No its unallocated space of 10gb, I might go with a 120gb with faster read/write speeds and partition the extra space for games. I just bought a 27" 3d ready monitor and might get a larger UPS to make sure I don't lose up time. Strangely enough the screen is cooler than my 3 year old 22" LG monitor.

  • nice

  • no joke. other than the case... we have the same new build. i have the deluxe asus mb. 3x1tb hard drives, one 60gig solid state. same cooler, same graphics card and ram. you sir and i knowing for a fact are in for a nice treat
