  • why it's so cool¿¿¿

  • ah.. the new-age nostaliga of my youth! <3

  • Man, the solo at the end and second solo of Desert Rose are his two best IMO. So much passion!!!!!

  • i hear a lot of hendrix influences here

  • WOW ! what a incredible combonation !!!!!

  • @ixcuix - that's Hindustani mate... Not Arabic... :-)

  • @eklavyaverma MICHAEL TSARION IS THE WORLDS PREMIER CONSPIRACY RESEARCHER/LECTURWER/AUTHOR. DR. BILL DEAGLE, LEO ZAGAMI, JORDAN MAXWELL AND ALEXANDRE DUMAS PERE ARE HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AS WELL. P.S. MELTING EUPHORIA IS SIMILAR TO OZRIC TENTACLES AND GONG.

  • I think Eric Johnson is the best guitar player in the world, his music is just perfect.

  • After watching this, I felt like I had just smoked a joint.

  • To my ear, by far his best album!

  • More Arab scales Please

or whatever they are. Vibrate my soul

  • @ixcuix that is Hindustani music mate... not Arabic...

  • I dedicate this song to Wall-E & Eve

  • @winozz2 ...Lmfao...

  • This is sooo beautiful I love these mesmerizing images of / from deep Space.

    Excellent song! :-)

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyymj

  • What's with the Space Donut at 1:45?

  • I don't think I've heard more power in note selection than when this guy solos, and I've heard em all, Larry Carlton, Pat Martino, Robben Ford, Satch, Gambale, Malmsteen, nobody bests this guy, not that it's a contest, but nobody's playing makes me want to practice and play more. Also one of the best guitar tones ever? what a combo.

  • There is a nobility, a beauty you don't often find in this song. It's more than just the sum of its parts. All I can think to say is wow.

  • BEAUTIFUL VIDEO. THANK YOU!!!

  • what great tone just goes to show you kiddies if you work real hard and listen to your parents... seems as though i remember that he had a hard time geting the sound that he wanted for this album took him for ever to release it well gota love that sound kudos to leo fender and eric johnson what a team

  • What a gifted human being... One in 6-7 billions.

  • Great job! I would love to have this as a screen saver also---with the music too. That'd be sweet.

  • the person who misses the like button is a justin bieber fan

  • Don't even think about it, Dollar Bill boy....see it through.

  • Trippy video. I dig it.

  • I never get tired of this song.

  • Kerry this fantastic !!

  • Has that "Yes" sound to it, which is great. Great video. Thanks.

  • Excellent post!!

    Peace, Jerry

  • Beautiful Song and Video ....

  • great work

  • Amazing 5*++ - gorgeous, thank you ;.)

  • the vox is not by mr. johnson! its by a great indian hindstani singer mr amit chatterjee..... i mean the intro of course! great song! thanx god for true musicians like mr johnson and amit ji !!!!!

  • thank you for posting this on youtube.. its so relaxing listening to eric's masterpieces.. i must admit he's one of the greatest..

  • De très jolis effets bien appropriés à la musique et au thème choisi ....

    Vidéo réussie ... comme d'habitude.

  • Thank you for posting this great piece of music. The video work really fits the music so well, stuff dreams are made of.

  • .. Eric Johnson is one of the only three guitarist that has the title Best Overall Guitarist along with Steve Morse and Steve Howe.. Because of Eric's music, I appreciated clean tones and chord voicing more than ever.. He is indeed The Tone God from Texas.. His music always triggers creative juices in me..

  • Kerry, I love this song & vid!!

  • This video is so epic. it suits this song well. It might be my favorite EJ song of all time...

  • if someone knows any cds similar to this one.. please pm me!!! :D

  • About whose better between Vai and Satriani I have to say that those are my favourite.

Vai´s been everything for my ears since years ago, but I can find something different in EJohnson that I haven´t found in Vai and less in Satriani.

You can make your dreams fly with EJ!

  • classic soloing!

  • verry nice video!!!

but music is kinda boring in the beginning

  • I like the beginning, to me it has a mystic other-worldly feel, as if he's chanting or praying for Eve to appear & she does. But she's just here to stay with us awhile.......

  • "I like the beginning, to me it has a mystic other-worldly feel, as if he's chanting or praying for Eve to appear & she does. But she's just here to stay with us awhile......."

-Pretty close. EJ meditates a couple of hours most days. (Check out "From My Heart" off of Bllom. ITs about meditation.

This song ( and the whole V.I. CD) are dedicated to EJ's fiance, who was murdered in NY right after AVM went platinum.

  • Venus Isle has always elicited cosmic visions in me. Thanks for putting these visions together with the galactic sounds of Eric's masterpiece Venus Isle. Spectacular!

  • sounds like eric likes foreign music as much as i do...some of that stuff over seas is just a wonder from god...thanks for posting this.....saves me money on cd's.....:D

  • for me Johnson is greater than Vai and satriani.

and I must say that their vocal skills put him above the rest of the guitarists

  • Vai and Satch can shred, but Eric can shred beautifully, and sing at the same time. to me they're all good but I always pick Eric as my listening choice when I'm relaxing

  • also I saw a vid of eric playing the piano,,, that's amazing he sings, plays the piano, the guitar, and he's a great composser... he's such a great musician!!

  • and as u could see, Eric sings much better than Vai and Satch

  • I totally agree. Beautiful sounds emanate from his fingertips like a fountain.

  • @guayo1982 of course

  • @guayo1982 You should hear him play piano

  • @westsd4lyphe I already heard him, it's incredible, he is a musician in all the extension of that word.

  • To whoever put this video to this music... Thank you

  • It IS the perfect accompaniment, isn't it. The timing/symmetry blow me away every single time I view; Kerry is the Master of Enrichment.

5 star rating just doesn't seem adequate...

  • Lets make a symphony of a thousand smiles.......

  • Ugh I want to animate to his music so badly...

  • Later Eve!! Come back to us soon...... :-)

  • Great song, and the video is wonderful.

  • Great video.good sync, excellent work

    4444jcm

  • Dude, is he singing that?

  • yes it is him

    great stuff isnt it

  • Damn, that's different. Eric Johnson always finds a way to impress me.

  • no, it's Amit Chatterjee (also a great guitarist)

  • well, the intro is. the rest is classic Eric

  • this is one of his vocal masterpieces, along with forty mile town and your sweet eyes

  • i need th tab

  • i have the sheet music on my lap...that is a difficult song but very fun to pay

  • hav u got this tab? i downloaded a venus isle song book it hav got the tab, but i want it for GP5. is much better

  • yeah

    you downloaded it you say?

where di you download the tab book from

Im looking for it about a whole week cant find it anywhere!!

please give me a link or upload it for me =] I will make you a guitar pro file with this song just please give it to me.

  • beauty bideo, beauty album

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • This is my favorite Johnson song! It gives me the goosebumps every time I hear it! BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Nice, very, very nice.

  • Yes, a great album. My only complaint is that it lacks a little of the raw power of Ah Via Musicom. That is why when I hear a song from Venus Isle live it sounds so much better.

  • Yes this is in the second instructional video! ..he starts it with pinch harmonics live like the album..and he has done this Live! if ya go to his web site there is a bunch of his song lists posted! So Awesome! ..i believe he also has a snip of "All About You" on the dvd as well..like fifteen seconds lol..

  • this album is underrated imo

  • Extremely! It was the album that got me into Eric Johnson after seeing him in concert.

  • Superb music matching perfectly with delightful view

  • You have to watch this in full screen mode. This mini screen doesn't do it justice.

  • Thank you for blowing my mind with this awesome video xyzkerry. Straight to favs. Thank you for sharing your vision and creation. Peace.

  • Another winner just brill

  • AWESOME video and music - thanks xyzkerry for sharing this :-)

  • This is so very beautiful! thank you:))

  • This is spectacular. Thanks kerry

  • This is spectacular, very nice work...The combination is far from good...it's excellent

  • Sucks to here about his wife. Why does something like that have to happen to such a cool guy. Though, if it hadn't, then this beautiful song wouldn't exist...

Simply beautiful, lyrically and, of course, guitar-wise.

  • it's all through when the sun meets the sky too....made for one of the best EJ albums ever....

  • Yes, I think the piece is bit EJ's catharsis for the loss.

There are so many references to it throughout the song,

    -"she's just here to stay with us a while..";

    -"She said 'Now its time to go, this is not my home', and she said her goodbyes and blasted off to the stars";

-"I'll be seing you" (as in re-incarnation or the afterlife)

I have also always seen "Battle We have Won", as being about letting go of losing her, and figuring out a way to move on without her. I've been there.

  • does this come from his wife divorcing him?

anyway, i just love this album. its like a movie to me. it takes my mind and along with the amazing guitar playing, they boths blast away into outer space ^^

  • He and his first wife did divorce, but no this was from fiance who he was with after that.

Yeah, I know the world thinks of EJ and immediately thinks of "Cliffs of Dover" and Guitar hero. I know most will disagree, but to me, Venue Isle is his best album of musicality and an artistic work. It was the last time the violin tone appeared on record too. I hope he brings it back.

  • Exactly...I think he lead guitar tone was the best on this album. In fact, the solo on Venus Isle is my all time favorite of EJ's. Too bad he doesn't play this song live.

  • Totally agree. This record is perfect in every aspect. Certainly you'll find at least one of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear in your life.

If i could broadcast music for aliens i would send two records: Dark Side of the Moon from Floyd and Venus Isle from EJ.

  • hahaha, i agree! awesome stuff

  • Excellent video accompiment.

  • I have searched and searched for a recording of this live and have yet to find one...I would love to see how he would arrange this one for a live set....great song one of my favs

  • you actually see him play a snippet of it in his second instructional vid

  • It would be tough to do, especially the opening, since that isn't EJ singing the Indian chanting part, and the guy who sang it doesn't tour with him...

nonetheless, it is one of my favorite EJ pieces, and is even more touching, when you consider what it ( and some of the other parts of Venus Isle) are about...

  • what are they about

  • After the release of Ah Via Musicom, EJ's fiance' was murdered in a burglary that went bad.

Like pretty much everything else in his personal life, EJ does not talk aboout it publicly, but Venus Isle (the CD itself) is dedicated to her memory.

With those facts in mind, if you give the CD a re-listen (especially this piece) some of the tunes are particualry poignant and moving, considering what the guy must have been going through at the time.

  • wow i never knew that. i always did find them moving and relaxing.the whole album is truly a work of art. and now i know this..

  • Where did you hear this?

  • Lots of people know about it, its not any big secret. There are accounts of it from police reports around.

He dedicated the album to her memory.

  • Oh, I'm not disputing it, I just can't find any references to it at all.

I have thought for a while now that there was something odd with the whole Venus Isle album, it seemed to almost uncannily stand out as an absolute gem. Given the circumstances around it, that extraordinary status makes sense, although it tinges the experience with sadness.

  • does he ever perform this live?

  • @ejfan he used to perform this live. i saw him at the allentown farigrounds in pennsylvania back in 1997 and he played this. the live intro was similar to how he begins "summer jam" on the anaheim dvd, but he "trapped" the fuzz face tone with his MXR digital delay and played over top of that.
