oh no! that was meant as a curse for someone at this house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not sure if your getting rid of it or bringing it to your home. best of luck mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, glad it wasnt me
You might know my friend. When he drives to my house and parks his car in my driveway drunk he dumps his ash tray full of ash and penny’s in my lawn ALL THE TIME. I hear them sling when my lawnmower hits them....
Maybe the pennys were in a roll,...that would account for 50 of them, lol. Anyways I believe it. Right next a sidewalk and kids buried his money playing. Good find.
this is a typical "kid" thing to do. In 1962 I was 8 years old. I took my birthday money which was about 6 old silver dollars and some change and burried it in my back yard.......at the time I did it I had moved the money a few times not being able to make up my mind where to keep it burried. I remember jamming a small stick in the ground to mark the spot.......next day....the stick was gone...must have been stepped on.....never say the money again....stolen? Lost?.....I will never know
They probably just fell out of one of thoses planes flying over. LOL My best hunt was 35 coins in 3 hours but none where silver. Have not found and silver yet but I only been hunting for 6 weeks so far.
i Find all kinds of cool things in the woods behind my house. it mostly consists of iron dating back to the 1800s but i once found a 22 automatic pistol.
Nice! I recently got a Garrett Ace 350 and went around the yard. I got multiple hits on the edge of my driveway too - indicators show pennies, a few quarters and a half dollar. I'm waiting till the mosquitos die down before I spend any time digging. I suspect that this is change that fell out of previous owners pockets as people got in and out of their cars.
Either an ashtray dump, cleaned out the car or pocket spill. I know almost everyone has gotten a surface find because they crawl under their own car to change the oil. Just like when I'm driving I've been dubbed as the "B.S.O. King". (Bright Shiney Object). I won't hesitate to stop along side the road and see what's laying there. In fact I still carry on my belt the Leatherman Tool ($140 value) I found on a motorcycle ride. That's what taught me to dig every signal I get.
@erpiv "Salted site" Means someone put the item/items there to be found on purpose. Example would be... Metal detecting clubs will Salt a site before an event so the participants can enjoy finding lots of goods.
Bad "salted sites" are usually found when someone is selling a gold claim and salts the area with a little surface gold to make it look as if it's loaded with gold.
@alexrex20 Nope, she's still sitting for now. I have a problem with the pulley on the crank shaft that needs to be addessed. I haven't even touched the steering. I need to get motivated to work on it, but I'm still in a state of disappointment at the moment and about several things on/with the truck.
Hey Jim, Good hearing from you. It's been a while.
That's awesome about your grandfather finding a stash. I'm still holding out waiting for that big horde of gold or silver to show up. lmao
Lots of people in the Great Depression era didn't trust banks and some ended up dieing with all their worldly possessions buried within view of their bedroom windows.
I had a guy watch me at a playground for about 15minutes. He finally came up and asked if it really worked.(this after watching me pull a dozen coins out of the ground) Turns out he thought metal detecting was a scam because his neighbor had one and never could find anything with it.
Needless to say they work, and I only have a cheapo one that cost $200-$250 new. The "good ones" are between $800-$1500.
I've had the detector for about 3months now and I hunt about an hour every couple of days. So far I have over $70 in coins $300 in gold and about $20 in silver.
gratz, you dug and unsightly hole in your front yard and found 12 cents lol

@alexrex20 If they catch you with a detector on the North Padre they will confiscate it and you won't see it again. lol
It's happened to a couple of guys on the MDing forums already. That law is for all National Parks and most State Parks also.
